Natural Bridge / Lexington KOA, Natural Bridge, Virginia

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Well run KOA in very natural setting. Family run and they were ever present cleaning, checking on guests and actively managing the grounds. Sites were tight but surrounding natural environment and the staggered elevations made the sites seem more spacious and private. The campground was easy to get to from the highway but seemed a world away. We didn't use the pool but it looked great. Bathrooms and showers looked clean and modern. We camped at Natural Bridge / Lexington KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Twin Grove RV Resort & Cottages, Pine Grove, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

We only stayed one night passing through but would stay here again. Staff was very nice during reservation process. Park is in a lovely location and seemed well maintained. Showers and baths clean. Pool looked great but didn't get to use it. Lots of activities for kids. I would suggest if coming from the east staying on I-78 and exiting near the I-81 interchange. The approach from the south west to the campground was much easier. Some of the roads leading to the campground from the southeast were winding, narrow, and steep. We camped at Twin Grove RV Resort & Cottages in a Travel Trailer.

Mahlon Dickerson Reservation, Jefferson Township, New Jersey

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $23.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very beautiful small rustic campground. Sites were very well spaced out and paved. Picnic tables and grills in great shape. Wonderful trails throughout the park. About a 10 to 15 minute drive from the highway and stores. Note-be careful driving there at night. Lots of deer. Our site was a little challenging to level for our length but doable. Great service when making reservations. Only complaint is the bathrooms. Both women's showers had clumps of hair in the corners and on the walls. One had a slight drainage issue probably due to hair. Items were left from prior users in both the women's and men's showers. The bathroom area had lots dead bugs on the floor. We were there for 5 nights during memorial weekend and it did not appear that the showers or bathrooms were cleaned during that time or prior to our arrival. We camped at Mahlon Dickerson Reservation in a Travel Trailer.

Charlotte / Fort Mill KOA, Fort Mill, South Carolina

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $51.00
Overall Rating:

Very convenient to the hwy and Charlotte area. The staff was helpful and gave us an extra hour at checkout which we needed and greatly appreciated. Grocery store within walking distance. Our gravel site was very challenging to level. Our intent was not to unhook but were unable to do that in order to position our trailer for optimal leveling. Some sites are paved. We camped at Charlotte / Fort Mill KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Claytor Lake State Park, Dublin, Virginia

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Very well maintained park and campground. Beautiful lake and trails. Rangers, staff and host were super nice. We were only there for a night but wanted to stay a week. Host came and checked on us right after we arrived. Spaces were level and well maintained. The pull through sites were near to each other but spaced well. Convenient to the highway. We camped at Claytor Lake State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Bull Run Regional Park, Centreville, Virginia

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

Beautiful park. Rangers were very nice and enjoyed sharing information about their park and things to do. We called ahead to ask for a level easy hookup site after reading reviews that some sites can be challenging. The person I spoke with was very accommodating. Spacing of sites was great. Lots of natural areas and trails. We were informed we were there for the peak of the Bluebells and they were spectacular! We were not there to visit DC but I understand it is a good location for visiting the Capital. We camped at Bull Run Regional Park in a Travel Trailer.

Jonestown / Hershey NE KOA, Jonestown, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $54.00
Overall Rating:

The staff at this KOA were very helpful, accommodating and nice. We had a reservation but our site was right up against the bathhouse with sparse bushes to sort of separate the site. Also a very large KOA sign attached to on the bathhouse was on 24/7 lighting up our site and many others nearby with a bright yellow glow all night. The electrical box was very rickety and unstable. Many of the sites seemed very close together. It was convenient to the hwy and easy access. We camped at Jonestown / Hershey NE KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Turkey Swamp Park, Freehold, New Jersey

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Great county park. Lots of trees and wonderful trails along with a small pretty lake. Rangers were very nice and drove through the campsites regularly. Sites spaced out very well. Needed an extra hose to reach the water. Site mostly level. Watch out for the tree limbs! We camped at Turkey Swamp Park in a Travel Trailer.
