Lake Park RV Resort, Lake Elsinore, California

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed 3 weeks after selling our home of 23 years nearby. Place is very clean and well maintained. A mix of RVs, park models, motel rooms, cabins and even a mobile home or three. Many persons seemed to be there as residents including the motel guests. All good though as far as rowdiness (none). Park overlooks Lake Elsinore. We are considering spending a month or more next winter. We camped at Lake Park RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Washington / Pittsburgh SW KOA, Washington, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Road in from Interstate was not wide enough in some places for a pickup or SUV to pass our rig. A few had to back up. We were towing so couldn't. Campground roads/sites are very steep and unlevel. Had to raise both front wheels off ground and use "lego" blocks to level. Wife was a nervous wreck during entire trip in/out and during stay. Parks seem to forget that RVs may be much larger than when the park was built. We camped at Washington / Pittsburgh SW KOA in a Motorhome.

Hershey RV & Camping Resort, Lebanon, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $3.00
Overall Rating:

First time at this TTN park. Gorgeous! Best TTN ever! Very full of course. 50 amp was readily available. in some loops, 50a was 3 bucks a day. In others, no extra charge. ???? Lots of trees, so am considering a secondary portable satellite antenna. Only NBC and CBS on off-air antenna but both were crystal clear. Verizon LTE/4G has 2 bars but is OK for email and light surfing. Lots of group areas that are well maintained. We camped at Hershey RV & Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

Thousand Trails / Indian Lakes (now both TT and KOA), Batesville, Indiana

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

A little surprised at many of the reviews. We arrived yesterday on a Tuesday before the Fourth. Park was/is very crowded. The "Prime" sites are occupied mainly by annuals. KOA has the rest of the Prime sites. However, we found at least three sits in Phase 2 that have 50 amp and sewer. We took one. The sewer is strange. "Mini" septic tanks? The tanks serve two sites and a Honey Pump guy patrols to see if any are full. There is a "bobber" that raises when the tank is full. Unusual but effective. You can also call the ranger station if one is full. Funny to see the staff actually change shirts as they transition from the TTN Ranger shirts to the yellow KOA shirts. Weird situation but, we will stay again as this is the only park in my home town. Hope to return in a couple of years. We camped at Thousand Trails / Indian Lakes (now both TT and KOA) in a Motorhome.

If you can't find a sewer site, the honey pumper is only $15. Cheapest I've seen at TTN. At Idyllwild it is $25 and $35 for same day service.

Jojoba Hills SKP RV Resort - Escapees Park - 55+ Park (members only), Aguanga, California

Date of Stay: January, 2015 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

What a great park! Members perform most tasks on a volunteer basis and obviously enjoy doing so. Beautiful vistas, including the one fron the outside spa (yes...there is an indoor one too). Exercise room is excellent. Didn't try the wifi as we use a Verizon Jet Pack that worked perfectly. Cell tower is on property. Large facility with swimming, several ponds, two dog runs and well planned/designed. Hope to return soon. We camped at Jojoba Hills SKP RV Resort - Escapees Park - 55+ Park (members only) in a Motorhome.

Thousand Trails Idyllwild Preserve, Idyllwild, California

Date of Stay: July, 2014 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

Third stay in last 8 years. This is a mountainside park with lots of trees and boulders. Hard to avoid obstacles in a big rig. Came up on a Friday at 3PM check-in time and spent an hour finding a suitable site. First site selected was too sloped to allow Levelers to work. Next site over worked with a little jockeying. Sewer sites are all taken by seasonal members with leases. Dump station tight to get into. Nice cabins. OK for big rigs but perfect for smaller units. Very few 50 amp sites also taken by seasonals. Wonderful wilderness camp near to charming town of Idyllwild. Trip up the mountain is not for the squeamish. Worth the trip. We camped at Thousand Trails Idyllwild Preserve in a Motorhome.

Salt Lake City KOA, Salt Lake City, Utah

Date of Stay: May, 2014 - $46.00
Overall Rating:

Reservation confirmation in email said the site was a 61 foot pull thru. When we arrived, the space is 42 feet at best. No problem as we had to disconnect the toad anyway. When we arrived at 7 PM on a Thursday, dinghies, trailers or tow vehicles were blocking roads as they unhooked. So we had to wait a lot. Not Rver's fault as the park is very tight. Obviously built when RVs were 30 foot at best and not towing. Utility pedestals seemed in poor condition though all worked OK except for fuzzy cable. Sat dish not usable due to big leafy trees. We camped at Salt Lake City KOA in a Motorhome.

88 Shades RV Park, Quartzsite, Arizona

Date of Stay: April, 2013 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

Par for Quartzsite. Many parks close the office at noon post season. This one opens from 3 to 6 for the overnighters. Verizon LTE works well so didn't bother with parks Wi-Fi. We had two iPhones, an iPad, a MacBook and a Roku streaming device. All worked well on our Verizon Jet Pack. Great for an overnight. Would stay here during the big show in January if we decide to do that. We camped at 88 Shades RV Park in a Motorhome.

Paradise By The Sea RV Resort, Oceanside, California

Date of Stay: June, 2012 - $80.00
Overall Rating:

Was apprehensive after reading a few less than glowing reviews. Fears were ungrounded. Was a last minute decision to come. Wife insisted on going to the ocean. Not much available at usual locations on such short notice. Park is exactly as represented on their website. Extremely neat and well maintained. Touch up painting and landscaping happening constantly. Great lobby/lounge with ping pong, football, "bar shuffleboard, pool table and two big screen TVs. Small store only drawback but Target etc., only 3 miles away. Beach access is as promised. Beach is small and high tide takes up most. Still, it is lifeguard protected and swimming beach separate from surfing, etc. Light rail comes by very close every 30 minutes or so until late evening, picking up again after 5AM. Short trains and except for one late in day. Commuter rail mostly. We camped at Paradise By The Sea RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Ashton Inn and RV Park, Ashton, Idaho

Date of Stay: July, 2010 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

Park was exactly as advertised. No surprises. Adjacent to motel. Office, pool etc., are located in the motel. Great restaurants in Ashton. About 50 miles from Yellowstone but we were delayed and lost our reservations in West Yellowstone. This was as close as we could get on very short notice. Clean and quiet. No WiFi at RV park but 3g worked well on my iPad and DW's Verizon AirCard worked well. Open sky for satellite. Great State Park nearby. Would stay again and see other sites. Took grandkids to Yellowstone Bear World, a private zoo/rescue park in Rexburg. Very nice. They fed baby bears and saw rare white elk (not albino). Bears, moose, elk etc., were roaming kind of free with a winding road to view them. We camped at Ashton Inn and RV Park in a Motorhome.

Yosemite Lakes RV Resort - Thousand Trails, Groveland, California

Date of Stay: July, 2010 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed as TTN/NACO members while touring Yosemite. Park was great. Easy to access pull through sites with clear sky for satellite and room for tow dolly. Store was very expensive but prices in Groveland are much better. Yosemite NP in July was a madhouse, but Yosemite Lakes was great. WiFi worked well but only in or adjacent to the great lodge. We camped at Yosemite Lakes RV Resort - Thousand Trails in a Motorhome.

Thousand Trails Snowflower Resort, Emigrant Gap, California

Date of Stay: July, 2010 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here for two nights as a stopover on the way to Yellowstone from Yosemite. Very outdoorsy. We parked in the Cliffs section. Just a paved lot with spaces wide enough to park out tow dolly next to the RV. WiFi is great in the nearby lodge. It's a nice walk to the store or lake. One of the better TTN places we've been to. We camped at Thousand Trails Snowflower Resort in a Motorhome.

Thousand Trails Nevada, Las Vegas, Nevada

Date of Stay: May, 2009 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Park is very adequate for Vegas. We camped overnight this year just after Memorial Day. Park is clean with a great pool and large dog run. Staff is very friendly. Boulder Station casino is a short walk away. Food there is good and inexpensive. The buffet was a great bargain if you join the players club. Nightly rate is for non TT members. We paid nothing as members. We camped at Thousand Trails Nevada in a Motorhome.

Sparks Marina RV Park, Sparks, Nevada

Date of Stay: March, 2009 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

We have been here since before Thanksgiving 2008. Going on four months now. The park is very clean and well organized. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The laundry room is one of the best I've seen. Shade is hard to come by which is no problem in winter but may be in summer. The only negative is that the "store" is almost non-existent. Only a few RV and laundry items available. However, shopping is close and plentiful with the Spark Marina a block away. You can walk to Western Village Casino and many other places. I think that in summer, the park would feel a little close as there isn't really much room for 2nd vehicles and visitor parking is limited. Still, a better deal than the Grand Sierra, in my opinion. We payed a 28 day rate at $645. This will go up considerably on April 1. We camped at Sparks Marina RV Park in a Motorhome.

Chula Vista RV Resort, Chula Vista, California

Date of Stay: January, 2008 - $60.00
Overall Rating:

Great park for exploring San Diego and vicinity. Lots to do there. Park is adjacent to a city park that is on the bay on one side and a beautiful marina full of boats of all types on another. Restaurants at the marina are great and very close. The bay front park is beautiful. Lots of activities for campers and the store is one of the best I've seen. Internet was fee based but most parks are moving to free Wi-Fi so that may get better. Pull through sites are spacious and back-in sites are adequate. Rigs are parked a little close when full. We camped at Chula Vista RV Resort in a Motorhome.
