Angels Camp RV & Camping Resort, Angels Camp, California

Date of Stay: September, 2010 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

The staff here were very friendly and helpful. The sites were mostly terraced and quite narrow. But they were long enough for the kids to set up a tent. (We found a great deal on a tent from Sunrise Camping Gear). It was very hot and there was minimal shade. Some fun things to do in the area. Do not take highway 4 to get here, especially if towing a heavy load. Use highway 12 to 49 as it's way easier. Overall, we weren't too happy with the sites and given the heat and limited nearby attractions, we probably won't come back. We camped at Angels Camp RV & Camping Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Lawson's Landing., Dillon Beach, California

Date of Stay: February, 2008 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

A huge park with a free for all atmosphere. There are rules, but they're not enforced. Dogs are supposed to be leashed but they weren't always and it wasn't a big deal. If you come with a group, you can circle your rigs and have a somewhat private area. You can't beat the proximity to the beach: the campground is just over some dunes (which block the wind!). Bathrooms were not very clean, but if you're in an RV, it's not a problem. There was quite a bit of manure (bring a scooper) from the grazing cows (and dogs). I'd go back. We camped at Lawson's Landing. in a Motorhome.

Benbow KOA (formerly Benbow RV Park), Garberville, California

Date of Stay: August, 2007 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Great golf course for reasonable fees. The park is well kept with a nice pool and various rec rooms. Spots are a little close, but I've seen worse. The surrounding area has a lot to see and do. We camped at Benbow KOA (formerly Benbow RV Park) in a Fifth Wheel.

Coloma Resort, Coloma, California

Date of Stay: August, 2007 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

We found the staff to be very pleasant. The facilities were well kept. The full hookup sites were a little cramped, but the river front sites were better (partial hookups). The river is the main attraction, with tubing and whitewater rafting available. We'll be back. We camped at Coloma Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Lake Siskiyou Beach and Camp, Mount Shasta, California

Date of Stay: July, 2007 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Great location, beautiful scenery. Lots to do at the campground, renting boats, kayaks, fishing, swimming. Some sites are a little small, others are great. Only downside is customer service - it's terrible. It's very hard to book a site, let alone a group of sites. They should put site availability online (as should any other campground). The people working the phones are not pleasant to deal with. We camped at Lake Siskiyou Beach and Camp in a Fifth Wheel.

Far Horizons 49er Village RV Resort, Plymouth, California

Date of Stay: June, 2007 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Well maintained facilities. Sites a little close, but there are so many so it's only a problem if the park is full. Friendly staff. Nice area to visit, check out the gold mine tour at Sutter's Creek. We camped at Far Horizons 49er Village RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.
