We stayed at J & D Campgrounds the week before Labor Day weekend when local school districts were already in session so there were quite a few sites available. The "A" loop appears to be dedicated to transient campers while the bulk of the Park has seasonal campsites. ALL of the sites are well maintained! The grounds and facilities are immaculate. Our site was level, spacious and much larger than our rig. The full hookup was modern and well maintained and had been meticulously planned for ease operation. Excellent water pressure, sewer connection was threaded and the cable tv was excellent. We did not make use of the WiFi as there was excellent Verizon connectivity. The picnic table and fire ring were well cared for. All of our contacts with the staff were excellent. They were friendly, articulate, knowlegable and seemed genuinely concerned to make our stay comfortable. We camped at J & D Campgrounds in a Travel Trailer.
The mini-golf was average but nonetheless entertaining. Nearby attractions were close by including Knoebel's Amusement Park, Pioneer Tunnel ( a tour of an anthracite coal mine and steam locomotive ride) and convenient shopping. The Office had an excellent candy/treat selection and a modicum of RV essentials at fair prices. The pool area was pristine, supervised and well maintained. My grandsons enjoyed the playground. We will be returning!

We stayed for two night in this mostly seasonal RV Park. The site was gravel, very level, easily backed into with our 21' TT. It would easily accommodate a much larger rig. In fact, our seasonal neighbor had a 40' 5er on the twin to our site next door. The neighbors were all friendly and welcoming. The picnic table was in need of new paint. The campsite ring was a large tire rim. The site was clean. The sewer connection was not threaded and required a weighted donut. Great water pressure. The cable hookup was adequate and easily accessed on the utility post. The electric had 20, 30, and 50 amp options. The staff in the office were pleasant, helpful and gave their undivided attention despite renting phones and other new guests. The store was well stocked with essentials and emergency repair parts. We did not use any of the facilities in the park but did tour the spacious rec room with 4 TV's, many game tables, including table tennis and billiards. The pool was undergoing a replacement reclining and would be in service during our stay. It was not a disappointment as we were there to raft the Hudson River Gorge...we got plenty wet there! We camped at Lake George Schroon Valley Resort in a Travel Trailer.
Great food and entertainment options in Lake George Village only 10 minutes away. Many recreational opportunities with the Adirondack State Park area, including several, outfitters that offered whitewater rafting in the Hudson River Gorge!

We stayed here as a base for exploring Cape Hatteras National Seashore. The CG is off the beaten path in the Village of Avon (Kinnakeet) and is quiet. Without a pool, playground or other activities it is excellent for mature campers. The seasonal sites are scattered throughout and are well kept. Staff and service are excellent! Friendly and helpful. Shopping and services are close by. Access to the beaches and Pamlico Sound are a short bicycle ride or walk away. (5/15, respectively) We will stay here again! We camped at Sands of Time Campground in a Travel Trailer.
This early in the year, the water temperature was warmer in the Sound (71F) v. the ocean (60F). Go spend an afternoon at Haulover Day Use Area (Canadian Hole) and watch the wind- and kite-surfers! We didn't take a beach umbrella as it was VERY breezy. Definitely take the free ferry to Ocracoke Island a spend a day there. Terrific shops, restaurants and beaches. No vehicle traffic except for ferry times!
