Glimmerglass State Park, Cooperstown, New York

Date of Stay: September, 2014 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

Great New York State Campground only two electric loops and plenty of tent sites at the Beaver pond. The bath and showers were very clean and heated with plenty of hot water. Rated only a seven because water at sites and sewer would be nice but I do understand the states problem with winterizing. Stayed in 34" motorhome and sites have plenty of room. We camped at Glimmerglass State Park in a Motorhome.

Cumberland Bay State Park, Plattsburgh, New York

Date of Stay: September, 2013 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

We camped here the second week of Sept. and had a great time. The site we had was #41 and it was water front, but had a water fill station next to it with a paved drive. I though this site would be busy, but not a one Rv used the fill. We didn't reserve the site since I hate to pay and online service $9.00 fee when the park can book you and retain the $2.75 registration fee for there services. This could be a problem at a high use time of the year as they may be booked when you drive up. The park and campground is first class with a great beach with a cement walk along the beach area. The sites seemed to be mostly dry after very heavy thunder storms with a little water in the low spots in black top road way but no flooding at all. The power is 30 amps, but solid with no ups and downs even with a full house. Great state park and we will be back again. We camped here in 35 foot motorhome pulling a toad. There is plenty of room to hook up and disconnect toad and the dump stations are spotless. State parks in New York are Great!! We camped at Cumberland Bay State Park in a Motorhome.

Wellesley Island State Park, Fineview, New York

Date of Stay: September, 2013 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Great New York State Park as most are. This is a great campground with every type of site for everyone primitive to full hook ups. The sites are very large with more then enough room for all the equipment we campers love to travel with. The full hook up sites are bordering a wood line and some open fields with great grass covered sites. There is only 30 amp, but without having to run two AC this power is strong with no valleys at our site # 8 which is on the second curve in which backed us up to the woods on two side very private with morning sun and afternoon shade. The full hook up loop F has room to drop toad. but better to drop at office and hook back up there. GREAT CAMPGROUND and state park rated 9 because no 50 amp or it would be a 10 We camped at Wellesley Island State Park in a Motorhome.

Ausable Point Campground, Peru, New York

Date of Stay: September, 2012 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

This is one great place if you are into nature as the park is on Lake Champlain and the Ausable River. Our site (#19) backed up to the lake with a view of Burlington, VT. The lake front has two beach areas and plenty of fishing, lake and river. The bad part for some of the campers was the Sat. night storm took down some trees and all the power lines, so campground was unattended with no water or toilets and showers. This was not a problem for us as we are self contained. The good thing was when rangers showed Monday morning and didn't charge us and refunded everyone in the park who had paid. Great state conservation area. Sites are very large and some will hold up to 40' RVS. We camped at Ausable Point Campground in a Motorhome.

Apple Island Resort, South Hero, Vermont

Date of Stay: September, 2012 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice campground, but they are trying too hard to use check in as a chance to sell sites. We had a site just past the office and had a view of the lake without the extra charge, but was just open grass area. Their price is too high as you are paying for the full timers that are getting all the goodies. The WI-FI didn't work, and we were just across the road from the office. At $57.00 the Wi-Fi should work or reduce the price. I can't understand with all today's technology why campgrounds can't get it together with today's computer use. The so called resort (which has resort pricing $57.00) should also have cable TV and sewer at each site!! We camped at Apple Island Resort in a Motorhome.

Hersheypark Camping Resort (formerly Hershey Highmeadow Campground), Hummelstown, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: September, 2007 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

The sites in the pull through area which I believe was called the Woodlands where so tight that most fire rings are under your awning or your mirror where over the next sites pit. (NOT SAFE). The smoke was out of control. If you like peace and quiet this is not the place for you. Weekends here, even in the off season, are swamped with kids 4-5 per trailer. The good things are: they are close to the park and they run a shuttle bus to the park; in off season it only runs when the park itself is open. The sites up on the hill are very nice but that train is right on top of them. WiFi would of been great, but six bucks for the use, what next? HERSHEY SHOULD DO BETTER! Museum was great. We camped at Hersheypark Camping Resort (formerly Hershey Highmeadow Campground) in a Motorhome.

Riverside Park Camground, Wells, Maine

Date of Stay: July, 2007 - $52.00
Overall Rating:

Small CG with way to many tents (everywhere). Seasonal sites where not taken care of, some overgrown. The roads where rough with pot holes. Location is good as it is on the trolley line. It is a place to overnight if you have no choice. We where not able to book anything else due to holiday in Canada. Owners are friendly and new so you may see change. We will check in with them in a few years and see how things go. We just fit in our site. We camped at Riverside Park Camground in a Motorhome.

We camped here in a motorhome and we where the largest on site, upper area had room for us but watch the lower wood areas if your in a class A. We will be back!! We camped at Dixon's Coastal Maine Campground in a Motorhome.

Odetah Camping Resort, Bozrah, Connecticut

Date of Stay: July, 2007 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice campground with many seasonals. Well taken care grass areas and gravel roads. We did not use the pools but they looked to be very clean and the lake was beautiful but did not get time to wet a line as we where only there on a over nite. If your a dog owner feel restricted with animals can only stay on your site,no walking on roads. That stunk!! We always pick up. My guess is not all do this. We camped at Odetah Camping Resort in a Motorhome.
