Blue Ox RV Park, Albany, Oregon

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Really nice well managed park. There are quite a few (majority) of the spaces occupied by long-term users. With very few exceptions they are well maintained and all tenants encountered were friendly. Interior dog areas are little more than barkdust or grass, but Timber-Linn Park (city operated) is directly adjacent and offers lots of room for your dog to run. Timber-Linn includes a fully fenced dog area with all of the amenities including a shower area for your pooch. Its within walking distance from Blue Ox. Interior roads are adequate width and all concrete as are the parking areas. There isn't a lot of grass with mostly round river gravel adjacent to the parking pads. The park is mostly open with a few mature shade trees. No picnic tables or fire rings and very little buffer between sites. Sewer connections are at the far back corner of the parking pad. We had to stretch a 20' hose to make it. The park is about a mile from I-5 and there is constant freeway noise although it isn't bothersome. Good WiFi and excellent Verizon coverage. Small enclosed pool that is heated, clean and well maintain and a rec room with pool and ping-pong table. Overall a nicely maintained park conveniently located and well managed. We will be back. We camped at Blue Ox RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Silver Falls State Park, Sublimity, Oregon

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

Typical Oregon State Park. Narrow roads and often difficult spaces to get into. These parks were constructed in the 1960s to accommodate much smaller rigs. Our 5th wheel is only 30' and I'm pretty good at fitting into tight spaces, and it seems like Oregon state parks always provide a challenge. Sites are asphalt with plenty of vegetation buffer between most sites. Picnic tables and fire rings are provided. But, they can be in odd locations. For example in site #C31 the picnic table is on one side of the site and the fire ring is on the other. In fact, the fire ring in this site is basically unuseable. Only host sites are full hook-up and the dump station is not conveniently located (IMO). We had zero reception on Verizon. All that said, this is a beautiful park and the falls (ten total) are incredible. Bring your walking/hiking shoes and enjoy some of the prettiest views Oregon has to offer! We camped at Silver Falls State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Prineville Reservoir State Park, Bend, Oregon

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

Nice Oregon State Park. Located in central Oregon there's lots of dirt and dust unless the area is irrigated. Sites are mostly level asphalt with adjacent dirt areas with picnic table and fire ring. Not all sites are full hook-up and the dump station is at nearby Harper State Park. Close, but not convenient. Pay attention to site length. Many are quite short. Beautiful views of the lake and surrounding mountains. There is a nice grocery store/ gas station/restaurant just outside the park. Verizon internet was very poor to non-existent in the park. Voice and texting was fine. The reservoir was at near record low level so access to the actual lake water was a challenge. Overall a nicely maintained quiet park. We will be back. We camped at Prineville Reservoir State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Clyde Holliday State Recreation Site, Mt Vernon, Oregon

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

Beautiful state park on the John Day River. Grounds are well maintained with sprinklers running all day. Paved back-up sites are up 86 ft. deep with lots of room between sites and buffer of Oregon Grape in front of many. Paved roads provide plenty of room for easy maneuvering. Nearby John Day River provides splashing opportunity for kids and dogs. Nice trail that leads to a nature pond. Hwy 26 is close by so there is road related noise. No reservations so get here early. Check out is 1:00 and most sites are full by 3:00 even though check-in isn't until 4:00. No wifi, but had 4G with solid 4 bars on my Verizon service. One of our favorite state parks in Oregon. We camped at Clyde Holliday State Recreation Site in a Fifth Wheel.

Vale Trails RV Park , Vale, Oregon

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Based on previous reviews we looked forward to our one-night stop at Vale Trails. But it was a disappointment. Roads and sites are more dirt than gravel. There was very little grass and mostly thick dust around the site we were assigned. Site was very close to our neighbors and a large tree prevented extending our awning. Industrial area across the street and train yard 100 yards away. Dog area is maybe 120 sq. ft. and all gravel. No poop bags or disposal can. Staff were very friendly and helpful and cable TV was good. Didn't use WiFi because Verizon service was solid. Good for a one night stop if you must. We camped at Vale Trails RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Mtn. View RV (formerly Mtn. View Holiday Trav-L-Park), Baker City, Oregon

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

Nice park with lots of mature shade trees. Interior roads are asphalt and plenty wide. Sites have gravel or asphalt parking with small grass area between. Utilities are conveniently located. Make sure you have a pressure reducer for your water. Cable TV is a plus. Laundry room is clean and units worked well. Convenient to I-84 and great for a one night stay. We camped at Mtn. Wallowa River RV Park, Wallowa, Oregon

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Nice small park along the Wallowa River. Very well maintained with lots of colorful flower plantings and mowed grass areas. Gravel roads and short narrow sites can make it a challenge for large rigs. Staff is very helpful and accommodating. No designated dog area, but plenty of open space for them to run. River is swift so keep a close eye on kids and pets. Great cable TV and wifi, although our Verizon service was excellent. Lots of things to do and see in nearby Enterprise and Joseph. Enjoyed our stay. Grande Hot Springs Resort (formerly Eagles Hot Lake RV Park), La Grande, Oregon

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Really nice park. Utilities were located near the front of our site. Make sure you can make all connections before unhitching. About 5 miles from I-84 access is by a well maintained gravel road. It appears to have had a dust suppressant applied and as long as you go relatively slow isn't bad. All interior roads are gravel and sites are a combination of gravel and mowed grass. There are some trees, but it's mostly open space. Nice large grassy areas for kids and pets. The pool is an attraction although at just 3' in depth it's more for wading than swimming. Several TV channels without satellite and Verizon worked very well. We enjoyed our stay and will be back. We camped at Grande Hot Springs Resort (formerly Eagles Hot Lake RV Park) in a Fifth Wheel.

Boardman Marina Park, Boardman, Oregon

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Well maintained park situated right on the Columbia. Grass is green (even in September!) and freshly mowed, and there are many large shade trees. Sites vary a lot. Many have lots of space between them, but others, especially along the road, are tightly bunched. We had a nice back-in along the Columbia. Roads are narrow and getting into our space took some manuevering, but wasn't bad. Utilities are convenient. Only interaction with staff was by phone. The young lady was very courteous and proficient. We will be back. We camped at Boardman Marina Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Kampers West RV Park, Warrenton, Oregon

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Nothing fancy, just a nice RV park. Many long-term residents interspersed through the park. Most are well maintained. Sites vary from all grass with electric only, asphalt camper pad with adjacent grass area or mostly all gravel. Most sites are relatively level with convenient utilities. Narrow paved roads that can get crowded during August peak fishing season. Quiet park except for early rising anglers. Nice fish cleaning facility with crab cooker. All sites are back-up and units are close together in the rear. Staff are friendly and responsive. We camped at Kampers West RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Collier Memorial State Park, Chiloquin, Oregon

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Small quiet state park. Sites are mostly level with paved parking, a fire ring and picnic table. Area around site is mostly dirt, gravel and fir needles. Plenty of shade from mature fir and pine trees. Lots of chipmunks scurrying about. When we visited many quests were raising the hood on their vehicle because grey squirrels had allegedly torn up insulation around motors for nesting material. We left our hood closed and had no problem. Expect camp fires to be prohibited during summer months. Nice relaxing stay. We camped at Collier Memorial State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Sparks Marina RV Park, Sparks, Nevada

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $58.00
Overall Rating:

Easy to find and very close to the lake, marina and park. It's not adjacent, but a relatively easy 1/2 mile walk. Park is well designed with good utility access. Each site has a small astro turf area and shade tree. Landscaping is nice and maintained. There are several small dog off leash areas. They are covered with course sand. If your pooch is accustomed to doing their business on grass, you won't find any. Pool is small, but refreshing. There is construction adjacent and unfortunately the back up alarms and noise started about 6:30. By 7:30 we had to close windows because of the noise. Overall very nice park and worthy of its high ratings. We camped at Sparks Marina RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Bend / Sisters Garden RV Resort, Sisters, Oregon

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Beautiful park. Asphalt roads and parking pads with manicured gardens and grass areas. Brick patio with picnic table. Utilities are laid out very well and easy access. Most sites are pull-through with plenty of room to maneuver. Pool, hot tub, kids play area, putt-putt golf, private fishing lake and small well stocked store. Its all here clean and well maintained. Dogs are restricted to a gravel trail and small enclosed off-leash area. Wet grass and dirt off-leash area is a mess in the making. Trust me! We always enjoy our stay at Bend/Sister Garden RV Resort. Burns RV Park, Burns, Oregon

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice family run park. Wide gravel roads with plenty of space on gravel parking pad. Concrete pad for picnic table and wide grassy area between sites. Most have mature shade trees. Grass is well maintained and several sites have large seasonal flower pots. Utilities were easy to access. Free WiFi is slow. Free cable is nice. Located right on a highway, but there was little traffic after 9 p.m. and it didn't increase in the morning until after 7 a.m. Dogs are welcome and there is a large mowed area for them to enjoy. Its fenced on two sides and they are supposed to remain on leash. Mine "escaped" and had a good romp as did several others. Be smart and don't abuse and you shouldn't have any problems. Really a nicely managed and maintained park. We will return! We camped at Burns RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Neat Retreat RV Park, Fruitland, Idaho

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

In my opinion, this is not an RV park, but instead a mobile home park with a few overnight sites. During our one night stay I counted just ten sites that appeared to have RVs that would leave with 24 to 72 hours. The others are long-term residents. The majority of the mobile homes are well maintained. The long-term RVs are a much different story. The restrooms, laundry, showers and garbage receptacles are at the opposite end of the park than the majority of overnight RV sites. Sites have gravel parking area with adjacent grass under mature shade trees. As a dog owner I am always looking for dog friendly parks. Dogs are allowed at Neat Retreat, but the "dog walk" shown on their website is a joke. If you go by the website map the "dog walk" is active railroad tracks. If you give them the benefit of the doubt it's either a gravel parking area or a dirt road adjacent a drainage canal. In either case it is not a designated dog friendly area. This park was a disappointment and we will not return. We camped at Neat Retreat RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
