Arizona Oasis RV Resort , Ehrenberg, Arizona

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $65.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed one night on our way but would stay here again if we are back this way again. Very neat and well landscaped park. The site was level and plenty long enough for my motor-coach and tow. We camped at Arizona Oasis RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Dockweiler RV Park, Playa del Rey, California

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $60.00
Overall Rating:

The view of the Pacific ocean is awesome. Beautiful sunsets on the water. The park itself is well maintained, with no frills. Parking our tow was a challenge on Fri and Sat but available along the back row against the wall. There are two fenced dog parks that is all sand. Neighbors are close and folks honored quiet times. Rules such as no bicycle riding in the park is not enforced. Also many walkers and bicycle folks from the outside wander in during the day. At night security is there to ensure nothing gets out of control. We camped at Dockweiler RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Watch out for extra daily charge for a pet. Also, there are many speed bumps on the internal roads so be aware. As for outside the park, Rock and Brew in El Segundo is a nice casual place to eat and enjoy music.

LVM Resort, Las Vegas, Nevada

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $105.00
Overall Rating:

Great location with a short drive to the strip and easy access to Henderson. Provides 24 hour gated security in a nicely landscaped setting. In some cases the landscaping is too much and can be reduced. The mix of real grass and artificial turf is done well. The lot assigned was nice but could use some maintenance and lighting in the outdoor kitchen area. The lot is a very good length. The dog exercise area is outside the gate and not fenced. One of the nicer RV parks I have stayed at and I would stay there again. We camped at LVM Resort in a Motorhome.

Grimaldi's pizza is a chain that offers excellent pizza and very large salads. They offer white pizza which is a must for my wife. Also found an Italian restaurant (Spaghetty Western) that was excellent with Italian waiters and music.

Richfield KOA, Richfield, Utah

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

stopped overnight and was happy to get a pull thru site that was long enough to not disconnect the tow. It barley fit but it did fit. the lots are small and I had to be very very careful opening the slides. Again it was very close, within a couple of inches. The staff was very good and the escort to the lot was very helpful and did a good job helping guide me and help ensure the trees were not in the way. Needless to say since the slide had only 2 inch clearance the awning was not usable. There is a nicely maintained dog park and the staff likes dogs and ready with a treat in their pocket. We camped at Richfield KOA in a Motorhome.

Glenwood Springs West / Colorado River KOA, Silt, Colorado

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $54.00
Overall Rating:

This is one of the best RV parks I stayed at. The lot was level and I didn't even need jacks to level it. The lot was plenty long and with room for my tow either behind or in front of the RV. The overall rating is not a 10 because of the many weeds in the grass area and dead plants. The staff was very good and when needing to find daycare for my dog, there recommendation was excellent. The landscaping is very nice and mostly well maintained. The best part was the location. Right along the Colorado river and 360 degree views of mountains. Made for beautiful sunrises and sunsets. Saw eagles flying and deer crossing the river to get to the RV park. I will stay here again for sure when back in the area. We camped at Glenwood Springs West / Colorado River KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

If you need dog care, I recommend Dog Holliday over in Glenwood Springs. They took very good care of our small Morkie for six hours so we could explore Aspen. The staff was excellent from checkin to checkout. My dog was happy. As for eateries, I can recommend Burning Mountain Pizza and sub in Silt. It also is great for morning bagels and desserts like made daily cannoli's.

AB Camping & RV Park, Cheyenne, Wyoming

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

Level site with FHU. Tree limbs in some cases need to be pruned because they make it difficult to make turns. What should be a pull thru site ends up being a back out because of tree limbs and dumped AstroTurf. While it did not impact my site, I noticed several motor-homes having to stick out on the road a bit in order to have satellite service due to tree placement and size. The exit road had large ruts which required very careful navigation. We camped at AB Camping & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Heartland RV Park & Cabins, Hermosa, South Dakota

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

The site was mostly level and the trees are still short so it did not interfere with satellite reception. It had rained earlier in the day so the site was muddy along with the internal park streets. The RV park is growing. They are adding an event center along with at least another 50 sites. Had to park my tow car across the road since there are not many sites that can fit a total length of 55 feet. Wifi and t-mobile service was very good. We camped at Heartland RV Park & Cabins in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The city of Custer is a charming town with several good restaurants. Custer state park is a very nice park with wildlife near the road. So drive slow. You can also pay the park fee $20 for a week where you can go through the wildlife loop road, 18 miles, and see up close buffalos and other wildlife. Less than .5 miles away is Lentz Brothers Pizza in Hermosa. Very good pizza. The best in the state according to Yelp.

Very nice staff and the grounds are well maintained. While other campgrounds call their weeds grass, this campground has very well maintained landscaping. Both grass and other plants. I would stay there again in the future. The site was very good and level. We camped at Dakota Sunsets RV Park and Campground in a Motorhome.

Timberline Campground, Waukee, Iowa

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

Sites are very close to the point that you cannot open your awning or else you would collide with your neighbor. The site next to ours was also on the passenger side. That made it too close to open awnings. Other sites were not that way. Site was level with a very small concrete patio. Picnic table is in need of repair. The location is nearby West Des Moines with great shopping and many good restaurants. We camped at Timberline Campground in a Motorhome.

Palace Campgrounds, Galena, Illinois

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Was assigned a level gravel/grass site. Water hookup was on the on passenger side, need 50 hose to connect. Electric and sewer was on the driver side as expected. First site assigned could not get satellite signal and had to change sites. Weekend RV'ers there on Friday and Saturday with cars in the way. These are longtime RV sites at the main entrance road. Just have to be very careful as you drive through. Come Sunday all the cars are gone making it easier to navigate. We camped at Palace Campgrounds in a Motorhome.

Cedar Lake Bible Retreat & RV Park, Cedar Lake, Indiana

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

The site was a level but because of the tree I had to position the RV just right in order to get the satellite to work. The site is in a quite area with plenty of bunnies. The folks who live in the homes on the grounds were very friendly. The folks that maintained the grounds were very careful around water, sewer and electric connections. Had two surprises, One is the placement of the water connection which was on the opposite side of the other connections. I had to buy an additional 25 foot hose to connect. So watch out for electric and water connections. My electric used up all the line I had but it made it. The other surprise is the railroad near by which would blow its whistle several times in the morning hours. Yes around 2:30am. We camped at Cedar Lake Bible Retreat & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Small park. The staff was very nice and walked me to the lot and helped direct parking my RV. They wanted to assure me the RV and tow fit on the deluxe lot I have. No issues were encountered. The gravel lot was level and had very nice concrete decking, and furniture. We camped at Brown County / Nashville KOA in a Motorhome.

Grand Ole RV Resort, Goodlettsville, Tennessee

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

This is a family run well maintained RV park. I had to back into the lot but the staff helped me back in just right. The gravel lot was level. While I was there I saw the staff always active in the park, cleaning, cutting the grass and answering any questions like "where is a good place to eat?". They had several nights of entertainment during my stay. Folks gathered to listen to the music and enjoy the company. I would stay there again if I were in the Nashville area. Country Boy RV Park, Madison, Georgia

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Three incidents happened while staying here that justified the rating. The good news is that the gravel sites were level with plenty of room to park our tow car. Most of the sites are taken up by full time residents. There was only about 10 sites available others. Day 1 in a week long stay I encountered problems with no wifi. When reporting it to the office I was told yes at least 3 others complained. The wifi worked at the office and near the office. Two days later I went to check since my call was not addressed and was told the wifi person would be there that night. This went on for a week long stay with the office staff not knowing when someone was coming to fix the wifi. Then incident two is when the water went out for several hours without any explanation why. The third was low hanging tree limbs that needed to be trimmed. An RV park should know better. We camped at Country Boy RV Park in a Motorhome.

Deer Run RV Park, Troy, Alabama

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed there for 3 nights. An average RV park that has concrete sites. The site we had was a FHU level site. Park was noisier than other parks since the roads were gravel and most vehicles did not honor the speed limit. The RV park themselves violated quiet times by having the trash dumpster emptied before 8 am. There was a nice fishing lake and spa on premises. Overall it is fine for a stop over or only for a few days. We camped at Deer Run RV Park in a Motorhome.
