Woahink Lake RV Resort, Florence, Oregon

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

Our site #48 was plenty long enough for our 41 foot motorhome and room to park the Jeep. They have great landscaping for privacy and sites were level. Being that they are adjacent to the Dunes and how many atvs were at the park I was surprised how quiet the resort was. They have lake access although we didn't use it. Our only issues were the NO cell service on AT&T or Verizon, the park WiFi didn't work and their fenced dog area needs some major TLC. Otherwise we were really happy with this resort. We camped at Woahink Lake RV Resort in a Motorhome.

AtRivers Edge RV Resort, Brookings, Oregon

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

By far this was our favorite resort. It was beautiful, clean and gorgeous views of the river and mountains. We really enjoyed walking the dogs down by the river. Everyone was so kind. It is close to the harbor and Harris Beach State Park. The sites were level and ample parking for the tow vehicle. Cable and Wifi worked great. They even had community fire pits and seating set up along the road above the rivers edge. We camped at AtRivers Edge RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Slugs n Stones Ice Cream is a definite stop. Such a cool little place to hang out, play games and eat ice cream. Bell and Whistle for coffee. Harris Beach State Park for tide pools or McVay Rock State Park which also has a fenced dog park.

Pomo RV Park & Campground, Fort Bragg, California

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $62.00
Overall Rating:

This is one of those campgrounds that charges for everything. Our nightly rate was $49 with the Good Sam discount, then we were charged $5 per kid, $4 per dog and $4 for 50 amp. When we got to our site #97 it was not as spacious as what appeared in the photos online. We could hear our neighbors snoring at night. Due to the lack of space and privacy we departed a day early even knowing we would not receive a refund. We camped at Pomo RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

San Francisco North / Petaluma KOA, Petaluma, California

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $129.00
Overall Rating:

We always enjoy staying at a KOA and this location was no different. There are tons of activities and friendly staff. This was by far the largest and busiest KOA we have ever stayed at. The only issue we had was our site was not level. We camped at San Francisco North / Petaluma KOA in a Motorhome.

Elk Country RV Resort & Campground, Trinidad, California

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $46.00
Overall Rating:

We really enjoyed the peace and quite of this park. The staff was extremely pleasant as were the other guests. It is very rustic with no cell or cable, but who needs it with a beautiful campfire under a starry sky. The Elk roam free which is cool. Easy access across the street to the state park. Site 557 was plenty long enough and level. We camped at Elk Country RV Resort & Campground in a Motorhome.

Chula Vista RV Resort, Chula Vista, California

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $115.00
Overall Rating:

Chula Vista RV is the worst place we have stayed to date. This would be at the bottom of my list when visiting San Diego. The sites are narrow, short and don't fit our motorhome and tow vehicle as we were told it would. There are vehicles parked in the road that makes arrival and departures extremely difficult. The wifi and TV reception is spotty. The photos on their website are not accurate to what you will see once you arrive. Forget about getting in the pool or even finding a parking space. This entire resort is so overcrowded. Don't come here expecting to relax. The only accurate review online is about their landscape, yes its pretty. They claim to be dog friendly, but the dog areas are extremely small and contain artificial grass and dirt. Any real grass throughout the property has signs posted "NO DOGS" Luckily, we were able to park our car on the lot next to us as they had a class B and were kind enough to share their space. It was utter chaos the entire time we were there. I have plenty of photos to document this review. Be cautious walking at the beach behind the resort. There are large shards of glass and trash everywhere. We camped at Chula Vista RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Pala Casino RV Resort, Pala, California

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $69.00
Overall Rating:

This RV resort is only a few years old and is a HOT spot for summer activities and the Pala Casino. We stayed here for 2 weeks and really enjoyed it. As busy as it was and as many dogs as there were, the grounds were immaculate. The have a shuttle that will take you back and forth to the casino. Oceanside Beach is about 40 mins to the west, Temecula is approx 20-30 mins and Julian was about 45 mins. We even drove down to La Jolla for the tide pools which was about 1.5 hours south including traffic. or 1.5 hours north west to Huntington Beach. All easy day trips. There are also several fruit stands near by. We camped at Pala Casino RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Cochise Terrace RV Resort, Benson, Arizona

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Our site was paved and just long enough for our motorhome and jeep, but really felt like nothing more than a parking lot.   We had an old wooden picnic table and few trees that supplied some partial shade.   The dog park was filled with prickly cactus which I'm aware is native to Arizona but had be on edge every time my dogs ran around. Although the resort is kid friendly there is nothing more than the swimming pool for them. We camped at Cochise Terrace RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Hill Country Cottage and RV Resort, New Braunfels, Texas

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $54.00
Overall Rating:

I'll start off by saying, "we won't ever stay here again" the sites are tight, gravel & not level. The entire resort seems over populated: approximately 263 RV sites and 110 cottages. It was chaos and no one followed the speed limit even the camp works / employees speeding around on their golf carts. 1 of the dog areas is actually a retention pond area and also has construction materials around it and the other is a extremely small fenced area covered in poop as well located near trash dumpsters. It's hard to handle the smell. We had high hopes when we booked this resort because of their ammenties but 1 outdoor pool can not sustain the amount of people and didn't appear clean. Although, they had an indoor pool we didn't use it. The customer service was very pleasant upon checkin other than that I find it difficult to find anything positive about this resort. We camped at Hill Country Cottage and RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

We truly enjoyed tubing the Comal River. Actually, it was 1 of our favorites. Park at Prince Solms Park approx 3.8 miles away and if you have your own tube it's only $2.00. If you want a good beer option with a nice atmosphere go to Krause's. For some of the best eats go to Buttermilk Cafe. Of course the Schlitterbahn is 4.2 miles and is fun for the whole family. Lastly, check out Escape Haus (escape room game).

New Orleans KOA, River Ridge, Louisiana

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $52.00
Overall Rating:

We normally pick KOA's for the kids activities and the nice dog areas however this particular KOA did not have a play area for the kids and sadly the dog park was nothing more than a shaded, smelly and dirt fenced area. The service was nice and it was the most convenient to New Orleans. The sites were concrete pads but short for our motorhome and fairly close to the neighbors. It was a small park with mixed use area a few homes, tent area and a variety of travel trailers and motor homes. It appears that some are full time residents. A small laundry room, pool and gift shop was also on site. We camped at New Orleans KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

We made 3 different trips into New Orleans and found that it was easy to navagate although expensive for parking. It did afford us the ability to come and go as we please. Approximately 27. Miles round trip. The park offers a shuttle that will drop you off at 9:00 and pick up at 5:00. There are a lot of good restaurants near by. Be sure to eat at Heads and Tails.

Aztec RV Resort, Margate, Florida

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $96.00
Overall Rating:

The sites, landscape and amenities of this resort are beautiful and well maintained. We were not particularly impressed with the service, upon checkin which was already chaotic we were givin the typical rules & service paperwork in French. Be cautious and maintain patience as the roads are narrow to navigate. The pools were enjoyable and I appreciate they had 1 geared for us families with kids. We camped at Aztec RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Perdido Key RV Resort & Marina, Pensacola, Florida

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $98.00
Overall Rating:

We have stayed here numerous times over the years and it's always the same; friendly and clean. It's a fairly small resort with narrow gravel sites. They do offer townhome rentals and have a marina of sorts. The sunsets are beautiful. We come for the location not the amenities. Perdido Key is between Pensacola and Orange Beach, Al. Tips for other Campers:

The resort does not have a dog run but is dog friendly. There is a fenced dog park less than 3 miles down River Rd. Along River is a kayak launch and beach access at the end of River across Perdido Key Dr. Little Jons is a great place to rent a pontoon boat. Check out Flora-Bama and Orange Beach, Al which we actually prefer over Pensacola. If you go to Orange Beach take a tour with Dolphin Tales.

Dunedin RV Resort & The Blue Moon Inn, Dunedin, Florida

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

This resort is mixed use; class a, b, c travel trailers etc. The site was plenty long for 40 foot class a and a jeep. Sites were close by but not crowded and the street was narrow. They have park models for rent as well as full time residents. Although some of the amenities are older they are clean. The resort is convenient to the causeway and Pinellas Trail which we loved. I would return. We camped at Dunedin RV Resort & The Blue Moon Inn in a Motorhome.

Palm Beach Motorcoach Resort (Class A only), Jupiter, Florida

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $75.00
Overall Rating:

We have stayed at this resort many times over the last few years. We love the location, close the the beaches, shopping a wonderful park nearby. As of our most recent stay their pool and other planned ammenties were still not open and available for use. However, once they are it will be a great place. The sites are plenty big and have a beautiful view of the pond. The service is always on par. We camped at Palm Beach Motorcoach Resort (Class A only) in a Motorhome.
