My Brother's Place Campground, Houlton, Maine

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

My wife & I spent a night here in our 35 ft 5th wheel traveling back to Maine from Nova Scotia. This is a nice place, very convenient and the owners were very nice & helpful. We had a big pull through 3-way site. Good bathrooms/showers (free). We were able to use our Dish satellite TV. We would definitely return here. We camped at My Brother's Place Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Loch Lomond RV Park, Amherst, Nova Scotia

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

My wife & I spent 2 nights here in our 35 ft 5th wheel. Heading back to Maine after 5 weeks in NS. We had a 3-way pull through, C22. The overall Park is only so-so and Blair Lake is hyper eutrophic, that would be nutrient polluted. There is a -3 ft high blue fence around the lake @ the RV Park, & when I asked the office about it the lady told me it was to reduce the wind! Right, don't you just love it. The PROs, the bathrooms/showers & laundromat are all new and wonderful, a 10 on a 10 scale. There is NO CABLE. We got 2 local stations on antenna TV, which we much appreciated. Amherst is a blue collar town, fine. Duncan's pub was nice, although the seafood chowder is way over rated on Tripadvisor. Wouldn't want to spend a lot of days here, but it is perfectly fine for a few days for travelers to/from NS. We camped at Loch Lomond RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Belle Baie Park, Church Point, Nova Scotia

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

My wife & I spent 4 nights here in our 35 ft 5th wheel. We loved this place! Onsite owners/managers are great folks & very helpful. Most of the sites are seasonal. However, they have some great transient sites right on the beach. We paid $150 CAD for 4 nights, back in 3-way site, right on the beach. Bathrooms, showers & laundromat were very good. The weather was interesting while we were here, to say the least. Late July, sunny the 1st day, then lots of strong wind, fog and showers. However, we loved it and would return in a heartbeat. We also love the Acadian culture and the scenery in the area, plus the music. Superb. We camped at Belle Baie Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Scotia Pines Campground, Brookfield, Nova Scotia

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

My wife & I stayed here twice in our 35 ft 5th wheel during our current Nova Scotia trip. $45 CAD/night. We stayed 5 nights in early July, just as we were getting to Nova Scotia and then 2 nights 3 weeks later in July as we were transiting to southern Nova Scotia. We like this place. During our 1st stay we celebrated Canada Day with our Canadian hosts/neighbors & it was a lot of fun. Good local music one night @ the Campground plus fireworks! Nice laundromat. The transient pull thru sites under the pines are very close together, but OK, grass & flat. Good wifi. No cable. We were able to get one local TV station on our antenna, my wife appreciated that. No luck with our US Dish satellite TV. We would definitely come back here again. Nice folks in the onsite office. We camped at Scotia Pines Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Bras D'Or Lakes Campground, Baddeck, Nova Scotia

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $49.00
Overall Rating:

My wife & I stayed here for 5 nights in our 35 ft 5th wheel. Very nice RV Park, $49 CAD/night plus tax. Included $5/day cable TV charge, which was well worth it! Wifi was very good. The sites are pretty tight, we had some road noise but it didn't really bother us. The staff is very friendly & nice. We would stay here again. Baddeck is a nice little town & the Lake is beautiful. One real CON that I will mention. The restrooms/laundromat were fine. The good news is that they are constructing 6 new showers, 3 for women, 3 for men. However, only 2 of the six showers were actually functional (& not even finished out) during our stay. And NO apparent urgency to complete the restrooms! 10 days before August 1st. I think I actually saw workmen at the restrooms one day during our stay. Are you kidding me? We camped at Bras D'Or Lakes Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Cheticamp Campground (Parks Canada), Cape Breton Highlands National Park, Nova Scotia

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

My wife & I stayed 7 nights in our 35 ft 5th wheel. Nice sites, we stayed at site #87. We really liked this place. The scenery in the local area/Cabot Trail is fantastic. We really liked the Acadian culture & restaurants the Doreyman & Le Gabriel. There are wonderful hiking trails all around, including the Skyline (saw a moose there) and the Salmon Pools trail which is at the Campground & travels next to the nearby Cheticamp River. Very nice. The cons - no cable TV, no antenna TV and the Wifi is pathetic. I just drove down to the local Robins Donut shop each morning (nice folks there) to connect to the internet. The local Acadian music is wonderful We would come back here in a heartbeat! We camped at Cheticamp Campground (Parks Canada) in a Fifth Wheel.

Broad Cove Campground (Parks Canada), Cape Breton Highlands National Park, Nova Scotia

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

My wife & I stayed at Broad Cove for 8 nights in our 35 ft 5th wheel & had a wonderful time. Staff were nice & helpful and the sites were very large. Bathroom/shower was nice, as was the onsite laundromat. Nice neighbors also. Lots to do nearby and great scenery. I did a nice kayak paddle on Warren Brook/Pond behind the Campground, just launch down by the pump house off the entrance road. Nice area to bike also. The cons...the WIFi is pathetic, really not worth messing with. I just drove down to the Bean Barn or the Coastal Pub & used their Wifi, however, that was a hassle. There is no TV via your antenna, no Cable TV and we couldn't get our US satellite TV to work. We would definitely return, but wouldn't stay 8 nights. We camped at Broad Cove Campground (Parks Canada) in a Fifth Wheel.

Rockwood Park, Saint John, New Brunswick

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

My wife & I stayed here one night in our 35 ft 5th wheel, while traveling from Maine up to Nova Scotia. We had a pull through 3-way gravel site. The Park was only about 30% full during our visit. Easy in, easy out & near the Highway. The Park is basically a big gravel field, but fully met our needs. The onsite Lilly's Restaurant was very nice, right on the small lake (kids were swimming and having a good time). We camped at Rockwood Park in a Fifth Wheel.

MainStay Cottages and RV Park, Winter Harbor, Maine

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

The onsite owners are wonderful hosts. We stayed here 8 nights in our 35 ft 5th wheel. Stay 8 nights & get the last night free. The Schoodic Peninsula area of Acadia NP is fantastic. There are only 10 sites @ this facility. Communal fire pit. Several of the sites are very close together, but in my opinion the wonderful view of Winter Harbor more than makes up for that. We will return, & we hauled our 5th wheel all the way from north FL! No onsite bathrooms/showers, but there are $4 very nice showers within walking distance, or just use the shower on your RV. We camped at MainStay Cottages and RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

My wife & I stayed here for 8 nights in our 35 ft 5th wheel that we hauled from north FL. Stay 7 nights & get the 8Th night free. We stayed at a pull through 2-way site with a view of the water. The front office staff were very nice & helpful. This is a big Park with lots of various options on what site you can stay at. Some of the sites are quite expensive, but our was fine. We really enjoyed our stay. A great place to enjoy Mt. Desert Island/Acadia NP from. We camped at Mt Desert Narrows Camping Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Twin Grove RV Resort & Cottages, Pine Grove, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights on our drive north to Maine. This is a nice, very large RV Park very close to Interstate 81, so it is very convenient. Although the park is large they had plenty of transient sites and we stayed in a gravel 3-way pull through in the upper portion of the park. The camp store is very nice, we did not eat at the restaurant. Showers/bathroom were very good. Our RV site was flat and the sites are fairly large, although there were not a lot of trees on the sites. Right across the road from the RV Park is a gravel road into Swatara State Park, you can easily ride your bike from your RV site to a real nice rails to trails bike trail that runs along the Swatara River. I enjoyed that a lot! We camped at Twin Grove RV Resort & Cottages in a Fifth Wheel.

I really liked this place. Wonderful onsite host. We stayed 2 nights on our way to Maine, in a pull thru, out behind the office. Great views of the forested ridges in a rolling pasture environment. Nice restroom/shower/laundry. Free Bluegrass music everyday noon to 4pm with great local musicians. Fiddlers, banjos, mandolins, standings bass, flute, etc. Just wonderful. This place can be windy, be sure to tie down your awnings! We camped at Cool Breeze Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Carowinds Camp Wilderness Resort, Charlotte, North Carolina

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here 1 night visiting local friends. The RV Park was OK, average at best. We had a pull thru in our 35 ft 5th wheel. Very little grass & a lot of dirt at our site. The dirt turns to mud when it rains which happened with us. The muddy area near the power/water pole got old very quickly. Restroom/showers were fine, but not many available for the large number of nearby RV sites. We camped at Carowinds Camp Wilderness Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

My wife and I have stayed here several times, the most recent was for 2 nights at site #55 overlooking the water (we splurged). We have a 35 ft 5th wheel. This place is very nice & very consistent. The sites all have concrete pads, lots of trees, good interior roads and pretty good privacy. All back-in sites, but pretty easy to do. Several very nice swimming pools and a nice jacuzzi at one of the pools. Wonderful view of the Atlantic intracoastal Waterway. The RV Park is very well maintained. The onsite staff is very professional & helpful. We camped at Hilton Head Harbor RV Resort & Marina in a Fifth Wheel.
