Causeway Cove Marina, Fort Pierce, Florida

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $80.00
Overall Rating:

This is a fabulous place to stay. A bit pricey but worth it for the view of the water and the boats. The staff is extremely friendly. They occasionally have events here but they are over by 10pm and you get free admittance.

All pads are concrete and there are only 10 pads. Every area has a picnic table. There is a large amount of grass between each unit. It sits on a marina so great views. There is no enclosed pet area but lots of grass area to walk your dogs. It is a large marina that has an area that occasional holds events (fishing tournament, concert, etc) and you get free admittance. They only have the events until 10pm and no one is allowed on the side where the campers are located. The area is very well maintained. This is a new park and I think the focus is mainly on the Mariana so a lot of people bring their boats and are fishing all day. Biggest downside is the little bugs that bite you if there is not a breeze and the crazy humidity. We camped at Causeway Cove Marina in a Fifth Wheel.

Spartanburg NE / Gaffney KOA, Gaffney, South Carolina

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Of all the KOA's I have stayed at this one is by far my favorite. We stayed in the back in the concrete pull through sites which have lots of room and green space. I cannot say enough good about the staff and the park. Staff and owner are very friendly and very accommodating. We paid for the high speed WiFi and were able to watch Netflix and anything streaming. They have an excellent enclosed dog park which our dogs loved. Also the pool was clean and had a nice deep end. Great play area for the kids. We are heading back to this area in October and looking forward to staying here again. Even the long term residents were very friendly. Great place. We camped at Spartanburg NE / Gaffney KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

CreekFire Motor Ranch, Savannah, Georgia

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $69.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very nice park with a great swimming pool and activities area. We stayed in the back near the lake which had all concrete pads and picnic tables. It was very quiet and had a great view of the lake. My only negative comment was the women who work the desk are not very friendly. Also you can only stay for two weeks at a time by using the website but if you make two different reservations you can stay longer. We camped at CreekFire Motor Ranch in a Fifth Wheel.

Nashville KOA, Nashville, Tennessee

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $103.00
Overall Rating:

As with most KOA's you don't have tons of space. We did get one of the premium spots so we had a concrete pad, fire pit and swing which was very nice. This is a large KOA and they had singers at the pool a couple nights a week which was very nice. The pool was nice but not deep and it was very hot so on the days it was not raining there were lots of people in the pool. The location is Okay - close the Grand Ole Opry which is nice and a huge mall with a great food court. Not to0 far from downtown Nashville also. My biggest problem is always that you are packed in and for the money you pay it would be nice to have a bit more space. We camped at Nashville KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Great options of restaurants at the food court. Tried many of the restaurants that are close by and they were not good at all but the food court and the mall had great restaurants!

St. Peters' 370 Lakeside Park, Saint Peters, Missouri

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

This was a great place to stay. It was right on the lake and had a great bike trail that went around the lake. Very clean and security went around on a regular basis. Had a nice concrete pad. It was extremely hot there in July so one negative is the lack of trees but hopefully over time they will grow and provide some shade. Also there was some type of long term resident in a vehicle without any windows that was a bit odd that was right across from us. It had a great location close to anything you need. We would stay here again if we were in the area. We camped at St. Peters' 370 Lakeside Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Basswood Resort, Platte City, Missouri

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $75.00
Overall Rating:

I have to say I did not like this place at all. We are doing a trip from Seattle to SC and this has been my least favorite campground (we have stayed in 6 already). The grounds are not well kept at all. The grass is mostly weeds and the picnic table looks like it is ready to fall apart. Everyone is crammed in to each so no space. We had to pull our rig forward and park behind it to get to the connections and the road behind is one way so you always have to back out when you go anywhere. It looks like there are quite a few long timers in some parts and they don't live very neatly. On the upside the site was level although it was gravel. I would never stay here again!!! We camped at Basswood Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Jellystone Park Camp Resort at Sioux Falls, Brandon, South Dakota

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $57.00
Overall Rating:

Lots of good things about this park. We arrived mid-week and there was hardly anyone there. Nice big park with lots of great grass between sites. We had a pull through site and there was plenty of room. Had a picnic table and a fire pit. Staff was super friendly and lots of options for things to do. We rented a golf cart which was fun to drive around and look at all the other rigs that were there. Had a great pool and mini golf and basketball and jumpy things for the kids. The only negatives - our spot was right next to the freeway so lots of freeway noise. The sites are gravel and ours was not even remotely level. Our front jacks where completely up and the bottom ones was very extended. The sewer was higher than the rig so makes it hard to drain your black water. Had a great tree which provided shade but did block the satellite so it was a trade off! Overall it was a great place and I would stay here again! We camped at Jellystone Park Camp Resort at Sioux Falls in a Fifth Wheel.

Mount Rushmore KOA at Palmer Gulch, Hill City, South Dakota

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $119.00
Overall Rating:

As in all KOA's you are packed in like sardines. We had a premium spot so up front and concrete patio and swing and fire pit and grill. It is a very large resort so lots of people. We had pizza and ice cream at the little store which was good. We had one meal at the restaurant and would not recommend, service was good but food was only okay. My daughter took a horseback ride for 90 minutes and enjoyed it very much. There is absolutely NO cell service or internet up here, you can get some limited internet when you are close to the check in area but that is it. We did get satellite. People were mostly friendly but some were very young and didn't know much but always nice. Great location to go see all the sites. My daughter used the volleyball and basketball courts and made some new friends. Had two pools that looked very nice and always lots to do if you had a young family. We camped at Mount Rushmore KOA at Palmer Gulch in a Fifth Wheel.

Billings KOA, Billings, Montana

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $92.00
Overall Rating:

This was our first stay at a KOA, as I had read before they do park everyone very close to each other. Our site was about 10 feet from the Dump station so that was not very nice at all. We were close to the pool and ice cream social so that was the up side. Bathrooms were clean when we arrived on a Thursday but by Friday they needed some help. Although staff was nice I really did not like how small the lots were and ours was not level either - would not have been able to pull out due to tree and packed park so we backed out...overall I would probably not stay here again. We camped at Billings KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

Beautiful surroundings. Nice camp and very friendly service. Kind of in the middle of nowhere but near the little town of Ennis. A little more than an hour drive to Yellowstone but it is a beautiful drive. Decent size sites and lots of grass. Large open field for the dogs. We camped at Ennis RV Village in a Fifth Wheel.

Had a great breakfast at a little place in Ennis called Pic A Nic Basket. Fresh biscuit sandwiches were amazing. We drove to Yellowstone both days and the drive was a bit over an hour, a little long but the scenery was amazing and lots of wildlife along the way.

Blackwell Island RV Park, Coeur d'Alene, Idaho

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $80.00
Overall Rating:

Nice location and easy to get to from the freeway. The park is located next to a river and has lots of green space. We were parked in a pull through in the "pinwheel" so a little tight getting in with our 41 foot 5th wheel. We did not have room for the truck in our space so we had to park next the office. Decent space between rigs. Close to town so easy to get to for meals or any needs. Nice and quiet. Would stay here again. We camped at Blackwell Island RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
