Worlds of Fun Village, Kansas City, Missouri

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

We arrived during the week while the amusement park was closed. Two negatives: 1) Campground backs up to I-435. That lends to plenty of traffic noise around the clock. 2) Only 3 washers and 3 dryers (1 dryer ooc). That's it. If you get past that, it is a great park. Our last day night there, the amusement park was open and you could hear the roller coasters and screams. To be expected. I believe it all ended around 11:00pm. Park slopes down to the southwest but every site was level and large. Nice job with the landscaping, at least where we were, by planting small trees to aid in privacy between sites. Trash receptacles provided for each site. Camp store well stocked but pricey. Office staff very nice and accommodating. Office staff warned us about the cable not being very good but we had absolutely no problems and cable was great as well (Keep in mind the camp was maybe 20% occupied most of the time we were there). Close to sight seeing. NE Parvin Rd (road that gives access to campground) is under construction and a little tight with semi-truck traffic. Overall, nice relaxing stay. Oh, washers and dryers were $1.75 per cycle. We camped at Worlds of Fun Village in a Travel Trailer.

Prairie Oasis Campground and Cabins, Henderson, Nebraska

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here overnight on a long haul. What a gem. Very open, clean and easily accessible campground. Plenty of room to exercise fur babies. There is a pond with a small boat available for use. Upon arrival, we checked in at the office which was clean and organized. Our Hostess even provided us a couple of delicious muffins. How's that for hospitality? Our Host escorted us to our site and got us perfectly lined up with utilities and offered additional assistance. Very kind. Great Satellite reception. Great WiFi reception. Our site was level and clean. I can't say enough about what a warm reception and great stay we had even though it was just overnight. If you're traveling I-80, this is a perfect place to stay. This is now on our, "Must Stay" list when traveling this route. Thanks Prairie Oasis for a warm welcoming and perfect nights rest. We camped at Prairie Oasis Campground and Cabins in a Travel Trailer.

Walnut Grove RV Park, Merriam, Kansas

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

Made reservations over the phone about a month prior to our stay. Walnut Grove wasn't our first choice but our first choice was booked. Johnson Road, leading to the park off I-35 is currently under construction. Turning in to the campground was a little tight but manageable with a 30 foot trailer. Office/store is clean and organized and is stocked with basic essentials and snacks. Asked for a satellite friendly site and was told we should be fine putting our antenna out in front of our trailer. Interior roads are paved but could use some rehab. Our site was wide enough for both our trailer and tow vehicle, side-by-side. You don't find that often so that was nice. Utilities were well positioned and our site was mostly level and gravel/dirt. Water pressure was high so be sure to use a reducer/regulator. We were given a site 111 which is about half way down the west lane. Noticed that most of the units further down the lane were "Permanent" campers. Most units could have used some TLC. Set our month old auto-find tailgater out and went through the process to lock in the satellites. Could get a lock. After a couple hours trying and talking with Dish, we gave up. At least 5 others around looked to have satellite service. Called the office and was told that they hadn't had any complaints about the issue previously. That was about the time the permanent campers started coming in from work. One came home, turned on their radio and left their door open. By this point we had decided to cancel the rest of our stay. Went to the office and they kindly canceled the rest of our stay and gave us a refund for our unused nights. We did notice some traffic noise and sirens throughout the night as well. In short, the staff was super nice and professional but the campground itself was not what we expected. We camped at Walnut Grove RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

AB Camping & RV Park, Cheyenne, Wyoming

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

Nice campground with a restaurant on site. The only reason for 3-stars on facility is that the sites are kind of close. Otherwise, no real issues. Close to site seeing in Cheyenne and easy to get off and on I-25 and I-80. Tacos and Brisket at the restaurant were tasty. Close to fuel, groceries and car wash. Office and restaurant staff were polite and professional. Nice place to stay if in Cheyenne. Good internet reception. We camped at AB Camping & RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Creekside Mountain RV Park, Hill City, South Dakota

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This is the only campground we've visited in the area but we are completely satisfied. The amenities are basic but there are a few goodies that come with your stay such as a pass to Mt. Rushmore and passes for the Michelson Trail. That alone saved us over $20. The park is clean, easy to get in and out of and the sites are spacey. Utility hook-ups are in a great location and there is plenty of room to park tow vehicle. A nice little creek runs through the park. There is plenty of room to walk and play with your doggy. We saw deer every night just yards from our trailer. The location of this park is perfect for exploring the local sites. It is just off US-16 so there is some noise but it is quiet at night. The owner, is super nice and supplied us with a local map and great recommendations for site seeing. Firewood is available; just ask. All-in-all, this is the perfect park for us retirees that don't need extra's. If back in the area, this will be the place we stay. No need looking anywhere else. Thanks for a great Week's stay. We camped at Creekside Mountain RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Scenic Park Campground, South Sioux City, Nebraska

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

Wonderful City Owned/Operated park right on the Missouri River. 5 minutes from downtown Sioux City, IA and all that it has to offer. Our site was a backin (#5) and was plenty long for both trailer and tow vehicle. Utilities well placed and we had no problems getting in nor out. Campground has firewood for sale as well as a bike rental to cruise the bike route through the city and along the river. Some construction happening in the East side of the park which will add or upgrade a few more sites. Only negative is that their Wi-Fi was spotty. But for the price and location, this is a great park. We camped at Scenic Park Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Lazy Day Campground, Danville, Missouri

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed at this campground just overnight to points West and North. Perfect layover. Being a Sunday afternoon, park was all but empty. Our site was fairly level requiring only slight adjustments from the trailer jacks. We stayed attached to our tow vehicle and there was plenty of room left on our site so as to not block traffic. Site was open and we received full satellite acquisition. Campground was clean and staff was very cordial and accommodating. Park has a pool, dog park, pond, lawn games and several tree stump carvings by a very talented artist. Camp office also has small store/camping items available. Did not use or visit laundry room or rest rooms. Utilities were well located at our site (27) for our trailer. Some sites have opposing parking so if making reservations and have a preference, it is worth looking at their online park map before making the reservation. Great park and would definitely stay again. We camped at Lazy Day Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Raccoon Mountain RV Park & Campground, Chattanooga, Tennessee

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $47.00
Overall Rating:

Nice campground just to the West of Chattanooga. Good cable and Wi-Fi and utilities were well placed in the site. Trash is picked up twice a day. Looks to be plenty of staff members always busy doing something to keep the campground clean and well maintained. Easy access to Chattanooga and the surrounding area. Campground sits at the base of Raccoon Mountain and overlooks the valley towards Lookout Mountain. We camped at Raccoon Mountain RV Park & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

If coming off I-24 Eastbound, you have to turn left off of Exit 174. There is not a light there so you may find yourself testing your patience depending on time of arrival. Restaurants and Wal-Mart nearby.

Rutledge Lake RV Park, Fletcher, North Carolina

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

Nice gated campground that was very convenient to Asheville and the surrounding area. Short drive from I-26. I-26 between Exits 37 and 40 is a bit rough. Also a large pothole on Rutledge Road traveling South on the right hand side about 1/8 mile off Airport Rd. Unlike other reviews, we had no problem finding the park. Initially assigned site 47 which backed up to the playground. We asked to be reassigned before setting up and was to site 54. Site was mostly level, slightly high on the drivers side but within capabilities of stabilizing jacks. Utilities are placed on the drivers side but are only about 10 feet back from the road. We had to pull up just a little to get everything hooked up as our water, electric and cable plugs are all in the back. Camp store has a few items including ice and propane. Other reviews spoke of poor picture quality on cable. Ours was just fine. Also, some reviews were negative for their Wi-Fi. We noticed that there is a secure, password required, server and an open server. Use the password protected server and you shouldn't have any problems. Use the open server and you'll get nothing accomplished. We camped at Rutledge Lake RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Restaurants and Wal-Mart real close. Outlet mall just up the road a bit and then everything that Asheville has to offer all within 20 minute drive. Watch the traffic at the 26/40 interchange. Always seemed to be slow getting through there.
