About MangoandJune

We are Russ and Michelle, aka Mango and June. We are a recently married and very recently retired couple who are traveling in our 32 ft Forest River Class C motor home. When it comes to campgrounds, AT&T or T-Mobile cell service, a few tv channels, clean laundromat and not too totally remote are important to us.

Gulpha Gorge Campground (NPS Campground), Hot Springs National Park, Arkansas

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

This is a lovely campground in Hot Springs National Park. Although it's first come, first served, we were able to easily secure a site (late Sept). Our site was a concrete pad, very level (not always a given with concrete for some reason). Our site backed up to the stream. Sites are private with foliage separating. Full hookups, good T-Mobile and AT&T cell coverage. We didn't watch TV so unsure of over-the-air channel availability. We highly recommend this campground. We camped at Gulpha Gorge Campground (NPS Campground) in a Motorhome.

Perry KOA, Perry, Florida

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

This was an overnight stop for us but we would definitely stay here again. New owners are energizing this campground. Gravel site was level, pull-thru, full hook-ups, combination of paved and gravel roads, easy to navigate with our 32 ft Class C. After several hours on the road, we spent the afternoon in the clean solar heated pool. Very enjoyable. No fire ring -might be a local ordinance prohibiting? We camped at Perry KOA in a Motorhome.

Oklahoma City East KOA, Choctaw, Oklahoma

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $46.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here two nights. Our site (#32) was in a newer area with asphalt, full hook-ups. No cable in this part of the park yet but that wasn't a concern. It was very quiet here. Roads are easy to navigate. Strong T-Mobile and AT&T cell signals. Check-in was easy, the man who waited on us explained all the benefits of the Kard and we joined. We haven't stayed at KOA's because they are usually a little more in price than we spend but may consider them now that we can get 10% off. We would stay here again. We camped at Oklahoma City East KOA in a Motorhome.

Twin Fountains RV Park, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $49.00
Overall Rating:

We aren't really 'rv resort' people but stayed here to visit a friend who lives nearby. Paved roads, paved level sites. Clean laundromat. Gated park in a high traffic area. The road noise was very loud at night; we didn't sleep well here. Full hook-ups, composite picnic table, fire pit. We camped at Twin Fountains RV Park in a Motorhome.

Coachlight RV Park, Carthage, Missouri

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very clean, well managed park. Conveniently located right off 49 near the 44 junction. Even though it was close to the highway, you couldn't really hear the road noise. Sites are gravel but level, full hook-ups plus cable. Clean laundromat (in the same building as the office). 4 sets of washer/dryers, $1.75/$1.25 per load. Excellent T-Mobile and AT&T cell reception. No fire pits or picnic tables. Located directly across from their RV sales/service center. Convenient to shopping in Carthage (about 3 miles), and easy access to Joplin. We camped at Coachlight RV Park in a Motorhome.

Full hook-ups including cable. 2 very clean modern bathhouses that include showers, restrooms and laundry ($1 wash / .75 dry). Strong AT&T cell coverage. Very quiet. No campfires allowed. White Cloud Casino, White Cloud, Kansas

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $5.00
Overall Rating:

Our first 'casino' RV stay and it worked out great. You can't beat the value for $5 a night. Full hook-ups, back-in, unassigned sites, grass, mostly level. The park is at the rear of the casino, just off the edge of the parking lot. There were security cameras nearby so we felt safe. A short walk up to the casino. Very quiet. Strong AT&T cell signal, 4 channels OTA. This is a very small casino out in the middle of nowhere but fun to try. Great for a one-nighter. We camped at White Cloud Casino in a Motorhome.

Scenic Park Campground, South Sioux City, Nebraska

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

A great little city park right on the Missouri River, directly across from Sioux City, Iowa. Our site (#41) was back-in, had a cement pad and full hook-ups including cable. We weren't right on the river but it was in our view directly in front of us. Roads are paved and easy to navigate. Some seasonals here but park is well maintained. Very quiet at night. The rate can't be beat. AT&T signal was strong, T-Mobile partner had strong signal but no data. We would stay here again if in the area. We camped at Scenic Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Super 8 Motel / R & R Campground & RV Park, Mitchell, South Dakota

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

Rate is an average of 5 nights using Passport America and Good Sam discounts. This little campground is a gem. Our site had a concrete pad, some of the other sites also had pads but most were gravel, all are pull-thru and full hook-ups. Roads are gravel and well maintained. Park is just off a major highway so there is some road noise. Office employee (owner/host?) was very friendly. Laundromat was very clean and connected to the office, $2 wash/$1 dry. We were very comfortable here and extended a few more days to relax. Cable available with a free cable box loan at the office. T-Mobile and AT&T signals were strong. Park also had wifi but we didn't use it. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Super 8 Motel / R & R Campground & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Office person was a bit gruff but quick. Good location right off 90. Walking distance to Wall Drug. Sites and roads are gravel, all pull thru sites. Picnic table but no fires. Full hookups. We used the laundry - very clean and very reasonable, $1.25 per load. Great over-the-air channel selection, strong T-Mobile and AT&T cell signal. We didn't need the wi-fi. A good spot to relax for a day or two. We camped at Sleepy Hollow RV Park in a Motorhome.

Medora Campground, Medora, North Dakota

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

Perfect location to Theodore Roosevelt National Park South Unit / the Badlands. Full hook-ups, excellent wi-fi capable of streaming Hulu, good AT&T cell signal but no T-Mobile. Quiet park, mostly sightseeing adults / retirees when we were here (late August). Our site was mostly level, long enough for our Rv with the tow parked sideways behind it. We were able to fill our onboard propane here. I thought this park was an excellent value; would definitely stay here again. We camped at Medora Campground in a Motorhome.

Pictured Rocks RV Park & Campground, Christmas, Michigan

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Someday this will be a great campground. For now, it's just getting going but all the right things are done. Excellent hookups including sewer, level sites, nice site posts, fire rings, picnic tables, brand new office and bathhouse buildings, easy to navigate roads. Wifi was spotty but usable. No over-the-air channels. No cell service with T-Mobile. I liked the reservation email confirmation and the follow-up email the day before check-in was a nice touch. We would stay here again. 533 ft on Lake Huron makes this quaint little campground a must-stay. We were here 4 nights. The owner makes sure each camper has the best possible view of the lake. Our site was level and had water & electric (no sewer available here). Bathhouse kept spotless. Excellent location, about 10 miles to Mackinac City. Limited t-mobile service, several OTA channels available. Few amenities here - it's all about the view. We would stay here again. We camped at Roberts Landing Campground in a Motorhome.

Timber Ridge Campground & Recreation Resort, Traverse City, Michigan

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

Located about 5 miles from Traverse City, this quiet¬ well laid out campground was very nice. Blacktop roads, gravel sites, all pull through and our site (#108) had a cement patio. Geared for families with lots of kid activities. Our site had water, electric and sewer. Cable is available on some sites if needed. We had no cell service with T-mobile, free camp wi-fi very slow and unusable. We were here mid-week so were able to use Passport America discount both nights. At full price, the cost is more than we typically spend. We camped at Timber Ridge Campground & Recreation Resort in a Motorhome.
