You couldn't even hear a bird chirp if it flew by you! It is very noisy due to the 4 lane highway that runs along the campground property. I would have loved this place if not for the noise! It was a great location, easy to get to the battlefield! Don't know that I would stay here again!

This was our 3rd visit to this park! One of our favorites! It's worth the money, especially if you love the outdoors and enjoy hiking and biking! Our kids love the wildlife (deer and an occasional raccoon.) that come right into your campsite. It's always cool here in the mountains so be prepared for that. The pool is heated so that is a plus! Highly recommend Canaan Valley State Park!

This was our 3rd visit here, not my favorite place to visit from past experiences. Our site was not level at all, the grass needed to be cut, and people do not clean up after their dogs! My boys did enjoy this trip tough because of the new jump pillow and the pool. I am a mean mom and don't allow my kids to use the water slide, only because it's extra. I don't feel like you get your moneys worth when you stay here. It is very expensive and everything is extra! For the price they charge the slide should be included! The staff is very nice and friendly and will assist you with anything you need.

Our first trip here and we were very impressed. They have shuttle service that takes you from the campground to Hershey Park and we used this. It was nice because we were able to come back and eat our dinner and then return to the park for more fun. We stayed at site 181 which is the very first site as you enter the campground. I was a little leery about it because of it being right at the entrance and at the shuttle bus pick up. I have to say it wasn't so bad and noisy. I guess we were just so tired from our day at the park that we didn't pay much attention to the buses coming and going. The staff for the bus service were very friendly as was everyone at the campground. The lifeguards were very nice and chatty too. We will stay here again and I feel like we got our monies worth.

What a great park! This was our first visit and we camped with 5 other families. The sites are very large and most of them are grassy. The lake view was wonderful from our site. We stayed in the Birch area and have made a reservation for next year. The "beach" area was wonderful and my boys loved it. There is a small waterpark on site for a small fee. We did not use this but one of the families with us did and enjoyed it very much. If you do stay here you need to take a cruise around the lake on the Proud Mary. The staff were wonderful and we will be back.

This park is close to our home so we thought we would give it a try. The lake is very close by with a swimming beach and boat access. Our site was fairly flat and very wooded. It was very scary getting out 29' trailer into the spot but we managed. I would have prefered a pull thru. The sites are fairly large. There were a lot of seasonal sites which is fine with us. I did like the Lake Anna State Park much better but they do not have full hook-ups. This is a great place for a short visit, we will probably use this as our "shake down" location.

What a beautiful state park. I think that West Va. has a lot to offer and Canaan Valley Resort State Park is a great central location for recreation. I made our reservation for this camp ground only 1 month before we arrived. I didn't think I would get a reserved spot, but I was able to. All of the sites are very shaded and you have a lot of privacy. We had deer in our campsite every day. My children loved this. This will be a location we will visit again.
