Sun & Fun RV Park, Tulare, California

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

This was a nice spot for a few days. I "reserved" a site through email, but upon arrival my spot had not been reserved. Best to call, thankfully they had plenty of space and we were able to stay. It is a nice quiet park, there are trains that run throughout the day with their horns blowing, but it didn't bother us. The laundry was great, the restrooms were clean, the kids had fun in the pool although not always the cleanest. Our spot (#3) was level and provided some shade, most sites did not have shade. There are a few pull-thru sites with the rest being back in. The sites are fairly close together with full hookups and very good free wifi. Verizon and AT&T were also very good. We would stay here again. We camped at Sun & Fun RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Call to make a reservation. Laundry was very good here with an app for your phone to tell you when it was finished. Sequoia national park is only 1 -2 hours drive from here depending how far you go in. The world agriculture center has a nice museum.

Mountain Valley RV Park, Tehachapi, California

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

It is a great little RV park. They need a website or someone to consistently answer the phone. If you are willing to make several phone calls to finally get through and reserve a spot it is worth it!! The sites are fairly spacious, some of them have shade and all are pull-thru sites. Only electric and water with on-site dump station. Restrooms are clean and on-site laundry looks clean enough, didn't use it. WiFi is available for a daily rate, Verizon coverage is great and we had a couple bars of AT&T too. Being next to the glider airport is a really neat location, would stay here again. We camped at Mountain Valley RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

The Tehachapi loop is really neat! Worth the drive to check it out! Also the two little museums in town are worth a stop too! Look for coyotes in the evenings.

Caldwell Campground and RV Park, Caldwell, Idaho

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

It is a good campground for a day or two, not sure we would stay here again though. Nothing really awful about it but there are a lot of what looks like permanent campers. That in and of itself is not all bad, the sites seemed clean and it was a fairly quiet place even with its location so close to the interstate. I just never felt comfortable sending my kids out to bike ride without my husband or I with them. The Verizon and AT&T coverage was great here. The employees at the office and out doing lawn care were very friendly and helpful. We camped at Caldwell Campground and RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

I would pay the extra to stay closer to Boise instead of trying to save money and staying here.

North Bingham County Recreation Area, Shelley, Idaho

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

A nice quiet little campground. Not a busy park at all. There were plenty of spots available, the price is great for electric & water hookups and a dump station on site. We had Verizon and AT&T coverage here. The sites were level and many had shade trees. All sites are pull-thru and plenty long enough for our 38' Travel Trailer and pull vehicle. Bathrooms were fairly clean, dump station was excellent and the overall campground was a great place to stay. We camped at North Bingham County Recreation Area in a Travel Trailer.

There is a little historical park back behind the campground, they were celebrating Pioneer Days when we were there, it would be worth checking out if you are there with kids!

Rainbow Point Campground (USFS), West Yellowstone, Montana

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $23.00
Overall Rating:

Absolutely beautiful!!! We went to Baker's Hole Campground (USFS) first and it was full. They pointed us to this campground and we are so glad they did! With loops A and B having electric hookups for $23/night it's a great price for the area!! There is no Verizon coverage in Loop B, not sure about the other loops. Cricket/AT&T work great. The roads to get to the campground are rough but easily passable. The loop roads are full of potholes which means you have to go slow through the loops. But as long as you know that they aren't a problem either. The Rainbow Bay Beach area is absolutely beautiful and we spent sunsets there until the mosquitoes carried us away. Bring your bug spray!! We would definitely stay here again. We stayed 4 nights with our 38' Travel Trailer. We could have fit in a majority of the sites. Get here early for first come first serve. Best days are Sunday-Wednesday but if you come early morning Thursday-Saturday you will likely find a spot as well. It is a short 15-minute drive to the west entrance of Yellowstone. You really cannot go wrong!! We camped at Rainbow Point Campground (USFS) in a Travel Trailer.

Be ready to go slow. While the roads are passable, it is better if you just go in with the realization that you will need to go slow. Bring your bug spray!! Great place for swimming and water fun on the beach of Rainbow Point. Easy 15-minute drive into West Yellowstone and the Yellowstone West entrance.

7th Ranch RV Camp, Garryowen, Montana

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

WOW! This campground is as good as they get! The sites are all pull-thru and large enough for the biggest rigs. They are staggered on a hill so everyone gets to take advantage of the gorgeous views. Each site has a patch of grass and the hookups are very convenient and easy to use. There is a small playground with a tether ball, slide, sand and balance beam for the kids to play. A very well taken care of and planned out campground. The sunsets here are absolutely breathtaking! We camped at 7th Ranch RV Camp in a Travel Trailer.

Spearfish City Campground, Spearfish, South Dakota

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

We love Spearfish and have camped here 2 years in a row now. Our sites have been near the creek and bike path. The bathrooms and showers have always been clean and bright. The campground is pretty big and is very busy on the weekends. It was much quieter during the week. We didn't have any problems with noise from the park or any of our neighbors, but do run fans at night for white noise to block any of that out. You will want to make sure you reserve ahead of time. They have some first come first serve sites but those have no hookups. They have a small dump station, but since we had full-hookups we didn't use it. The bugs were not bad here at all. We love being near the bike path and riding our bikes to the nearby fish hatchery and park (you could easily walk to those as well). We camped at Spearfish City Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Farm Island Recreation Area, Pierre, South Dakota

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $21.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed in site number 51, which was fairly level and easy to access the 30 amp electrical service (also had 20 & 50). Our site was near one of the comfort stations and a short bike ride or walk to the playground and public beach. The restrooms and showers were very clean and bright. We enjoyed the river but would definitely try to get a site on the river next time. The bugs were very bad and the weather was very hot. The dump station had a line on our way out on Sunday morning but we didn't wait long and the dump station itself was very nice and easy to use with plenty of space between the dump and the potable water. We camped at Farm Island Recreation Area in a Travel Trailer.
