West Branch State Park, Ravenna, Ohio

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

Beautiful campground on the lake. Hiking, boating, fishing. Marina where you can rent pontoon boats. Quiet, mostly filled up on weekends. We camped here in October 2018. Mostly level sites but depends on your RV length with electric only on all but has a small section of full hookups. We camped at West Branch State Park in a Motorhome.

Close to Kent University. Hartville Flea Market about 25 miles away and is a lovely place to spend some time. West Branch Park is a good place for biking, walking/hiking, boating, fishing. Stores in Ravenna about 10 miles. Guido's has good food, decent pizza. Liked shopping at Marc's grocery.

Warrensburg Travel Park, Warrensburg, New York

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Interesting little park about 5 miles outside of Lake George. Very nice owner and staff. We were there off season and they were getting ready to close the park on 10/8 so no activities. Mostly seasonals; we just lucked out with a very large, FHU, shaded site near the entrance for our 2-week stay. As this site is near the playground and pool and it was out of season, very quiet. In season it would be very busy/noisy. No charge for visitors or pets. Has a nice pool which is being refurbished and access to the river for swimming, fishing, boating. Some sites were available in the seasonals area but the roads are narrow as are the sites and they are not level. Our 40' motorhome would not have been a comfortable fit for a short stay in those areas. Good cable and wifi connections. We camped at Warrensburg Travel Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

All the activities in and around Lake George are just 5 miles away. We happened to be there during Restaurant Week and enjoyed 3-course meals for $20.18 at Mario's and the Lobster Pot, both recommended. Weekends in early September were busy. During the week many shops were closed. Parking is metered but reasonable and may be difficult to find during busy events. Lake George is well worth visiting.

Newfound RV Park, Bristol, New Hampshire

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Nice park, clean, safe. We stayed five weeks and got a very decent rate for the long stay. Owner is a very nice gentleman and helpful. Park filled up on weekends. No pool. Clean clubhouse with pool table, ping pong; can be used for group meals. Full Hookups with wifi and cable. Two each of showers and restrooms, clean (didn't use). Very reasonable laundry on site. Rates a 7 because there is nothing to do in the park, especially for kids. Mostly adults coming and going while enjoying the surrounding areas. Our site was fine although it had very little shade. We camped here for a month and enjoyed our stay, using it as a base to explore the area. We camped at Newfound RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Lake Winniepesaukee, Mt. Washington, Franconia Notch, and the Kancamagus Highway are suggested sightseeing areas. Newfound Lake is lovely but there is no access unless you rent a place on the lake. Wellington State Park (fee) for swimming and boating. Ecotour of Newfound Lake was enjoyable. Stop in at Twin Designs Gift Shop in Bristol to visit Diane the Turtle. Grocery store within 5 miles. George's Seafood and Harts Turkey Farm Restaurant provided excellent food at reasonable pricing.

Kampfires Campground, Inn and Entertainment, Dummerston, Vermont

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

Easy in/out and registration at the park. Large pull-through sites, some shaded, some not. We camped here for a month and enjoyed exploring the local area and nearby NH sites of interest. The campground is well kept, staff friendly and helpful. This is an old campground recently purchased by a young couple. They are working hard to upgrade the facilities and began by adding sewer connections and upgrading electric to accommodate big rigs. They plan to continue the electric upgrade. The pool area is newly upgraded and is very nice. Even with pool memberships available to the locals, the pool was never overcrowded. Owners are releveling some sites as well. Bathhouse recently renovated. Recommend the park. We camped at Kampfires Campground, Inn and Entertainment in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Things to do in Brattleboro - shops, restaurants, 2 grocery stores. We were here over 4th of July and enjoyed the town's celebration and fireworks display. Small towns are within easy driving distance. Beautiful scenery in the mountains and along the rivers. Local swimming holes. A ride out to Hogback Mountain is worth the trip. Madame Sherri Forest in nearby NH is worth a trip; hiking/walking trails, pretty scenery.

Prospect Mountain Campground, Granville, Massachusetts

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Family owned destination park in the foothills of the Berkshires. Friendly and helpful owner and staff. Many family activities each weekend. Nice pool with two adult swim hours. Fishing ponds. Mostly seasonal campers but we stayed for the month in an FHU site with over the air TV and free wifi access. Gravel roads in the park. The FHU sites are reasonably level with gravel, have a stone-ringed fire pit, and are tree-shaded. We camped at Prospect Mountain Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The Berkshires of MA is beautiful and there is hiking, fishing available in the immediate area. About a 30 minute drive into a town with choices for grocery stores, Walmart, restaurants, etc. Laundry needs attention; laundromat in Southwick is a better option.
