Klamath Falls KOA, Klamath Falls, Oregon

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $59.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here two nights while traveling to Seattle. Explored the town a bit. Not much going on in the area when we were here. The park is a typical KOA. Pretty kid friendly. Small with a very small dog run. Easy access to Highway 97. We must have booked the deluxe site (there is only one). Ours came with a pave stone patio, propane grill, fire pit, table and chairs with umbrella all of which we used. I would recommend site 23 if it's available. Other sites are pretty crowded but we had lots of space. Nice small store that is open until 10 pm. Lots of people working the desk so check in was quick. Young, friendly and eager to be helpful. Led us to our site. The path was a bit tight for a 38 ft class A with a tow. This is the first place we've stayed that offered to let us wash our camper or vehicle for $5 / hour. We drove through heavy dust and rain in Nevada so decided to take advantage of the chance to clean off the red road muck from the motorhome. Nice perk given we are out for 3 months. We camped at Klamath Falls KOA in a Motorhome.

Mountain Gate RV Park, Redding, California

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

We were in site 74 (back in site) which sits on top of the hill in the park. We had plenty of room on either side of the coach. Easy access to the park from I-5. A bit of traffic noise when outside, but it was too hot to spend much time outside so we didn't really notice. Bathroom facilities were convenient and clean. AT&T signal was good. WiFi was above average. Convenient to Redding and Lake Shasta. Only two minor issues: 1 - We got two vouchers for wifi (one device each) and couldn't switch between devices. Cell signal was good enough so didn't need wifi for our phones which made this workable. 2 - The extra parking is in front of our site which made backing the 38' RV into the spot a challenge. Luckily when we got here some spots were empty which made it work. We camped at Mountain Gate RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Lassen Volcanic National Park is the nicest park you've never heard of. A bit of drive but worth it. Shasta Caverns were a good way to spend a hot day.
