Panorama Camp, Lavigne, Ontario

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

The price of $43 per night is in Canadian $. This campground is basically in Ontario cottage country, on Lake Nipissing. There are cabins to rent & most of the RV's seem to be people who use them as summer cabins, or people who come for a long stay in the summer. The lake is shallow, so is great for young children. We stayed 2 nights & used it as a short rest stop after we crossed into Canada at Sault Ste. Marie, on our way to Algonquin Park. The hosts are very friendly & helpful. It is a nice setting & very peaceful. We camped at Panorama Camp in a Travel Trailer.

Aune-Osborn Campground, Sault Sainte Marie, Michigan

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

The location on St. Marys River is great - the ships coming to & from the Soo Locks pass very close to the campground & there are benches to sit & watch the ships & other boats. The "premium" sites face the river so these people don't need to leave their site to watch the ships. We only made reservations a few days in advance, so these sites were all full. But our site was a very short walk away. The bathrooms & showers are very modern & clean. We camped at Aune-Osborn Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Straits State Park, Saint Ignace, Michigan

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very nice state park. We were in the upper portion, away from the lakeside. The sites next to the lake would be great for families (we no longer have kids travelling with us). The price of $30 per night does not include the reservation fee or the Michigan State Park pass which is $30 per year for non-residents or $9 per night. The bathrooms & showers are in good shape, firewood is available for sale. We enjoyed the walk on the paths, especially the viewpoint of the Mackinac Bridge. This park is very convenient to the ferries to Mackinac Island. We camped at Straits State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Floodwood Campground, Floodwood, Minnesota

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

This is a good place to stop for one night as it is very convenient to Hwy 2. The bathrooms function, but that it about it. The park is very pleasant, 9 spaces backed up to the river. 30 amp service, no water, no dump station. The road is a bit narrow & we had a bit of trouble getting our 30 foot travel trailer into the site without hitting a tree, but we made it. I made reservations by phone the day ahead & paid with a credit card. The woman answering the phone was very courteous & friendly. We camped at Floodwood Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Fox Run RV Park, Williston, North Dakota

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

This is a large RV park that was built to accommodate long-term construction/oilfield workers. It is definitely not a resort. They do have some transient sites. Ours was next to the clubhouse. The Wi-fi was excellent. The laundry is large, clean, & well-lit - it costs $2.00 for each of washer & dryer. The campground is on a bluff overlooking the city, so nice views. The roads are dirt & gravel, so it is a bit dusty. It is close to Hwy 2, so very convenient that way. Right now, there is construction on Hwy 2, so one side of the Hwy is blocked off & therefore traffic is slow & it is a little more difficult to get in & out of the campground. Stores are about 6 miles away. It is a good place to stay if travelling through the area. We camped at Fox Run RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Evergreen Campground, Havre, Montana

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This park is located 4 miles south of Hwy 2, on Hwy 87. As we headed south on 87, we missed the turnoff our first time. The sign does not show up very well until you are almost at the driveway, & then it is too hard to stop & turn quickly. We had to drive about 6 miles down the highway before we found a spot to turn around. This is an older park. The restrooms are not modern, but are clean. We had a shady spot. The cable was good. The Wi-Fi was iffy. We stayed for 3 nights & toured some of the local sights. The owner was friendly. The campground is not a resort, but is perfectly adequate & is well-suited to this area. We camped at Evergreen Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Fort Assinniboine, the largest fort in Montana at one time is very close & the tour was very informative & interesting. We also enjoyed the tours of Underground Havre & of the buffalo jump.

Glacier Campground, West Glacier, Montana

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

The campsite is in the woods & on a hill. It is very peaceful, although a train whistle can be heard, mostly during the day, but the first one is at 7 AM. We had to use our leveling blocks, and there are some tree roots in the site, but the ambiance was suitable to the Glacier experience. The restrooms were a bit small & are on the rustic side, but are adequate. The people working at the park, including at the cafe, were very friendly. We camped at Glacier Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Wenatchee Confluence State Park, Wenatchee, Washington

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

We only stayed for 1 night, but it is a nice, open, grassy park with a lot of space between sites. The pad was a bit narrow so that we couldn't go all the way to the back of the pad & still have room for our slide-out. Because of this, our truck wouldn't fit in front of the trailer without being on the grass, which was not allowed, so we had to park in another parking spot. But this was a minor issue, and overall, we enjoyed the park. We camped at Wenatchee Confluence State Park in a Travel Trailer.
