Old Post Road COE, Russellville, Arkansas

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

Another gorgeous COE RV Park. Roads are paved and easy to navigate with a big rig. Huge grassy sites with paved pads and parking space for towed vehicle. Crushed stone patio with picnic table, fire ring, and lantern stand. No problems getting level. Electric and water hookups. No individual sewer connections but dump station is available. Boat launch in the park. Clean rest rooms and showers. Park is well maintained. Quiet, friendly campers. There is an adjacent day use area with picnic tables, playgrounds, tennis, volleyball, walking paths, mountain bike and hiking trails, disk golf, picnic pavilions, soccer field. Park is on the Arkansas river at the dam and lock. Awesome. I have to say we did notice the factory "hum" a prior reviewer mentioned, but it wasn't enough to bother us. Also another reviewer mentioned ants. We had to watch out for ant hills while walking the dogs, but that seems to be the norm in this part of the country. No problems with ants at our site. Really enjoyed our stay here. We'll be back. We camped at Old Post Road COE in a Motorhome.

Wallace Creek COE, Enid, Mississippi

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

This is a fantastic campground, I think one of the best we've seen. The campground is well maintained and beautifully situated on Lake Enid. Sites are huge and have full hookups. Roads are paved and easy to navigate with a big rig. The sites have concrete landing pads, and most are large enough for an RV, tow vehicle, and boat. Fishing is very popular here; there is a boat ramp in the campground. We were here over Columbus Day weekend and the park was full, but it was still quiet. If you don't have a lake view from your site (which many do), then it's a short walk to enjoy the lake. We stayed for 6 nights; wish it could be longer but we have other plans already booked. We will definitely be back. We camped at Wallace Creek COE in a Motorhome.

Northgate RV Travel Park, Athens, Alabama

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

We enjoyed our stay. It is easy on/off the highway and convenient to Huntsville. The hosts are friendly and helpful. There are no frills. Grassy pull-through sites with crushed stone landing pads and full hookups. No picnic tables or fire rings and no bathrooms/showers. Crushed stone roads in the park are easy to navigate with a big rig. We would stay here again. We camped at Northgate RV Travel Park in a Motorhome.

Dog Creek COE, Cub Run, Kentucky

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

Beautiful park. The park was clean and well maintained. Check in was easy and the gentleman at the gate was friendly and helpful. He even advised us that the site we had reserved ahead may be a little difficult for our rig based on location of electric and water hookups, and suggested a few alternates for us to choose from. Not all the sites are level along the full length of the site, but we were able to get "level enough". The sites are built up with timbers. The landing pad was crushed gravel with solid footing underneath. The sites include a patio covered in bark mulch with a picnic table and grille. The only reason I didn't rate this a 10 is that there aren't sewer hookups available. You can't beat the value for money. We will stay again. We camped at Dog Creek COE in a Motorhome.

Whispering Hills RV Park, Georgetown, Kentucky

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

We enjoyed our stay. The roads are wide and easy to navigate. The park is very well maintained. We were guided to our site. We had a back-in site beside the pond, with lovely views. Our site was grassy with a gravel pad for parking. The site was just big enough for our 41' MH, but there was a small parking area just steps from our site for our tow vehicle. The laundry and rest rooms were clean. Staff is friendly and efficient. The only negative thing I can say is that we had very heavy rains today and the drainage at our site was poor. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Whispering Hills RV Park in a Motorhome.

Pla-Mor Campground, Inc., Bremen, Indiana

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This is a nice campground. Nice wide gravel roads for easy navigation. Our site was grassy with some gravel for parking and trees for shade. Sites were a little close, but adequate. We had a picnic table and fire ring. There is a pool (which was closed for the season when we stayed) and a very nice mini golf course. Staff was friendly and efficient. There is plenty to do in the area. We would stay here again. We camped at Pla-Mor Campground, Inc. in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Nappanee is close by and is a very nice small town. We are Newmar owners, so we enjoyed the factory tour. The RV Museum in Elkhart is about a 30 minute drive and well worth the trip.

St. Ignace / Mackinac Island KOA, St Ignace, Michigan

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $49.00
Overall Rating:

We really enjoyed our stay here. The park has "good bones", but still needs work. It is under new ownership and there are construction materials staged in some areas, so it seems they are working on it. On the plus side, it is laid out well and the roads were easy to navigate with our big rig. The sites allow enough room between pads to provide privacy. The park is quiet and the staff is friendly and efficient. It's a short drive to either St. Ignace or Mackinaw City. On the negative side, the roads are surfaced with what seemed to be a clay mix. It had stopped raining shortly before we arrived, and it tracked from our shoes all over the floor mats in our toad and the camper floor. Although our site was spacious, there were trees leaning in towards the landing pad which made it very difficult to get situated where we could open our slides. In the end we were off the side of the pad and so close to our fire pit we couldn't use it. We watched a couple of other motorhomes struggle with the same issue. We were situated in the back half of the full hookup area, and there wasn't much grass on our site. If it had rained, our site would have been mostly mud. The sites nearer the office seemed to have more grass. As I said to start, we enjoyed our stay, and will come back again in hopes there have been improvements. We camped at St. Ignace / Mackinac Island KOA in a Motorhome.

Finn Road Park Campground, Essexville, Michigan

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

This is a lovely small campground with paved back-in sites. Sites are a generous size and there are plenty of trees for privacy and shade. There are a couple of nature trails and a boat ramp for access to the lake. Easy access for big rigs. Very clean and well maintained. Affordably priced. This was our second stay, and we'll be back again. We camped at Finn Road Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Petoskey RV Resort, Bay Harbor, Michigan

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $72.00
Overall Rating:

Beautiful park. We stayed in the old section, in the front of the park. Our site was a back-in, large and level with a concrete patio and grass. This section of the park is beautifully landscaped. The park was impeccably maintained. We used the pool and laundry while we were there, and both were clean. The newer section of the park still needs time for the landscaping to mature, but has plenty of pull through sites which will eventually be grassy with concrete patios. We enjoyed our stay very much, and will be back next year. We camped at Petoskey RV Resort in a Motorhome.

There is so much to do in the Petoskey area. We loved Boyne City with its green space along Lake Charlevoix and great farmers markets on Wednesday and Saturday. Drive the tunnel of trees and visit the Legs Inn just to soak up the atmosphere.
