Hidden Valley RV Resort, Tijeras, New Mexico

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $57.00
Overall Rating:

We booked this RV Park several months for the Balloon Festival. It was about the only one left. It was nice tho. It’s not a five star, but it was fine for us. You will have to level your RV or motorhome. The water was on the opposite side and we barely reached it. Sewer was ok but not quite angled enough to empty out tanks. It took awhile. There are some full timers that would fly thru there way faster than five miles an hours. We had to make a complaint on that, dust flew everywhere. The workers are so nice and helpful. I did laundry and there were four washers and dryers and they all worked. $1.25 for wash and $1.00 for 40 minutes on the dryers. I hiked around the park and really enjoyed the scenery. We camped at Hidden Valley RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

We hiked up at Sandia Crest about 25 miles away. We found diesel near there for $3.19. Don’t go to The Lazy Lizard bear there. We waited 2 hours for our food and then it was cold. Even the waitress was angry at the cook because everyone had to wait so long. She was doing it all. Great gal.

Sun Valley RV Resort (formerly Root 66 RV Park), Sun Valley, Arizona

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

This is an OK park. It looks like a work in progress. We were in Site 1. Gravel and dirt and somewhat level. There is nothing around here. You have to go to Holbrook about 10 miles away. The flies were bad. But what was really bad is Site 3 had a bad water leak and it was like a lake at our site. They didn’t seem to concerned about that and our site was muddy. I was able to take a run on a road that is about 2 miles square. It’s ok for an overnight stay. We camped at Sun Valley RV Resort (formerly Root 66 RV Park) in a Fifth Wheel.

Black Bart's RV Park, Flagstaff, Arizona

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

I love this RV Park. It's huge and I like how it's laid out. I read a review about the site being doubled and one pulled thru and someone else backed in. This is absolutely not an issue. We had plenty room and two different families backed in behind us. The sites weren't real level but it wasn't bad. It's right on Hwy 40, but the noise wasn't bad and we were second row from the front. We hardly heard the trains either and there were several throughout the day. Most didn't blow their whistles. There is a Starbucks Coffee about a mile away. I walked there several days in a row. There is a Cracker Barrel real close too. Everything we needed was within 3-4 miles, except propane. We could not find any around us. The laundry room was very clean, we didn't use the restrooms but I'm sure they were clean too. There is no WiFi at all. And it's because there wasn't a company that provided what they needed. There was satellite, but no cable. We have Verizon and Tmoble. Tmoble was very limited. I would stay here again in a heart beat. Sedona is about 30 miles and a hidden gem, Walnut Canyon is about 8 miles away. I felt safe running the trails around here too. We camped at Black Bart's RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Cameron Trading Post RV Park, Cameron, Arizona

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This park is across the street from the trading post. We were there only three nights. The space was very small and not level at all. They don't take reservations and it's first come first serve. It's about 30 miles from The Grand Canyon. There is nothing around except about a mile away there are two gas stations and a Burger King. The restaurant at the trading post was amazing. They gift shop was amazing and there is a gallery of Native American artifacts and gifts that is amazing. The staff of many are so friendly and nice. I would stay again. I would recommend too. We had to park our truck at an angle in front of the site. The area was very quiet. Even tho we were right next to the highway, traffic was not bad. We camped at Cameron Trading Post RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

East Zion Riverside RV Park, Mount Carmel, Utah

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

This is a hidden gem. There are about 10 sites across the street from Best Western, that runs the RV Park. However, the just opened up about 15 other sites about 1/4 mile down the street. They are amazing. Full hook ups, pull thru sites. Gravel all around. Clean, level and open. Huge sites. Very spacious. There are no rest rooms or showers, but the owners don't want that. There is free gold at the hotel, $5 cart fee. It's a really nice and easy course. The hotel has a really nice restaurant and gift shop. There is a pool and spa at the hotel that camper can use. Also there is a laundry facility at the hotel. Zion is about 15 miles away. Kanab is about 17 miles away and the drive is beautiful. There also is Coral Pink Sands dunes about 22 miles, which is beautiful. Some reviews were before they added the new spaces. Eventually they will have cable. Great place. We camped at East Zion Riverside RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Red Canyon RV Park and Campground, Panguitch, Utah

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very nice RV Park. It's 12 miles from Bryce Canyon and about a mile from Red Canyon. The two people that work in the office are very nice and friendly. The laundry room has only one washer and dryer. When it's busy here in the park that's a problem. I think they have the room to have more. The big problem I have is they DO NOT clean the sites after people leave. So, we have been here for 6 days and the smell of sewer is constant. The people next to us had a sewer or gray water drip and the smell and flies were constant. There are tons of flies to begin with, but that made it worse. I have to think this is a health issue. I don't know what the answer would be, but an attempt to clean would be nice. We camped at Red Canyon RV Park and Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Archview RV Resort & Campground, Moab, Utah

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $72.00
Overall Rating:

What a great RV and campground. Huge..cabins, tents rv, everything here. It's close to the Arches National Park and Canyonlands National Park and about 6 miles from Moab. We paid and extra $10 for a premium site. Well worth it. We back up to a beautiful view of the desert. Other reviews complained of the dust and noise of the dirt bikes, quads, motorcycles, we have heard nothing. Now of course we are her mid Sept. and maybe in the summer it's bad. The site is gravel and pretty level, we used one of our blocks. We unhooked our 5 th when and there is still plenty of room for our truck. Our 5th wheel is 41 feet. I would definitely return. There's a store, laundry, plenty of walk space for pets. WiFi is pretty good. They just added 5G fiber optics. Cell service is good to. We have Verizon. Cable is great. We camped at Archview RV Resort & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

RV Ranch at Grand Junction, Clifton, Colorado

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

We were here only on night. We made the reservation the day before and they were able to take us. Very clean and the layout of the campground is perfect. The sites are level concrete slabs with some gravel. Some of the reviews said no laundry which is incorrect. Very nice large laundry with 5 washers and large capacity dryers. The view around the camp ground is breath taking. I walked and took photos of the area. I wish we were here longer. My only issue, and I can't really blame the lady in the office when we arrived. When I called to set this reservation up I asked about check in time, as we were coming quite a distance I said we may be there between 12 and 1....she told me no problem as there were many sites available. We had a brutal 300 mile drive and wanted to just kick back. We arrived at 12:15pm and the office was closed till 1. We had to sit for 45 minutes in the heat. Communication is essential in these parks. Also, they said out site had cable hook up. after messing for and hour we call the office and they sent someone over and they told us the last person change the system to analogue so we couldn't use it. Again for the price of this, we should have had cable hookup. Good internet service you have to pay $4.00 a day. For unsecured it's free, but not good at all. We camped at RV Ranch at Grand Junction in a Fifth Wheel.

Prospect RV Park, Wheat Ridge, Colorado

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

We were going to stay three nights, but left after two. The office was closed Sunday and Monday so couldn't get number for the laundry room, and I had laundry to do.They had a paper with our site number on it and that's it. No number for the laundry, restroom or shower. The sites are roomy, and the roads are wide. People raced thru here not paying attention to the speed limit. Dogs barked all the time. We camped at Prospect RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Happy Holiday Resort, Rapid City, South Dakota

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $47.00
Overall Rating:

We were given, what the office said, the best site in the park. Site F. It is a beautiful site and very roomy. It's at the far right side of the park. It's a bit of a walk to the laundry but showers and restrooms are very close. There were several camp workers in the office when we checked in. They let us check early which was very nice. The entire office was so friendly when we came in. My only issue...and it's not huge, is the office said out site had good WiFi. We had nothing. Not even close. The gentleman that helped us back in to our site was very honest. He said NONE of the sites have good WiFi. I feel that advertising good WiFi when it isn't is wrong. We didn't even have cell service at this site. But, out cell is T Mobile...we ended up going into town and changing to Verizon, because we have had issues with coverage. That's not the parks fault tho. All in all, it's a nice park. We camped at Happy Holiday Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Mountain View RV Park & Campground, Sundance, Wyoming

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Dry clean park with very wide roads for easy turning of large motor homes. It's about 1 mile from the town of Sundance. It's about 30 miles from Devils Tower. It is also about 15 miles from Buffalo Jump Saloon where we had the best prime rib we've ever had. The WiFi is not good at all. But that didn't matter too much. I walked all around the area and into town. Very safe, so clean and people waved to me as I walked. The staff is very friendly and we got free homemade cookies when we arrived. The mountain behind the park is a beautiful red. We camped at Mountain View RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Peter D's RV Park, Sheridan, Wyoming

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Amazing!!!! This is one of the best parks we have stayed in since we started our full time RV adventure. Both my husband and I spent time chatting with the owner. He really takes pride how clean and sharp his park is. The sites are very long (both 5th wheel and truck fit), level, and clean. The grass area is so green and they have a garden that is right in the middle of the park. They share veggies with guests. I went to mail a card and the owner walked back to our site and chatted with me about how he designed the park 17 years ago. I wish we could have stayed longer. The WiFi was pretty good. The bathroom was sooo clean. The town of Sheridan, Wyoming is so cute and extremely clean as well. We camped at Peter D's RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Bear Canyon Campground, Bozeman, Montana

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

The very good thing is they accepted two packages for us from Amazon. We thought we had sent it to our next destination and this campground asked that we do not have mail sent hear. They kept the packages for over a week for us. The park is large and has tent, pull through, back in. The biggest problem is the pull through are not level at all. We had to put three inches on one side and it still wasn't level. The motor home next to us has hydraulic jacks and their tires are about 18 inches off the ground. I think for the price, the need to work on last of these pads. Also, the trains. There are several trains throughout the day AND night. Because there is no guard rail at the tracks the whistle blows all thru the night. It's loud. The park is about 6 miles from Bozeman, which is a large city. There are several things to see there. Great shopping. Not good satelite reception but the WiFi is great. Very clean, camp workers are very nice. We camped at Bear Canyon Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Deer Lodge KOA, Deer Lodge, Montana

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

We drove through town and turned down the street to the KOA and I'm thinking we made a huge mistake because the KOA was so close to town. What a pleasant surprise. The owner/manager (and all around worker) is so knowledgeable of everything here. She recommended places to go and what we might like around here. The park is very nice. The spaces are good sized and I don't feel crowded. It's quiet. We camped at Deer Lodge KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Columbia Falls RV Park, Columbia Falls, Montana

Overall Rating:

What a beautiful campground. The roads are so wide we had no trouble getting in and out. The owner had us follow him to our site and he help us get straight. They use pea gravel and it's not sharp and easy too walk on. The laundry room was so big and clean. Washer and dryers as excellent condition. They have a change machine and you can purchase soap and fabric softener. The office also has a store with odds and ends rv items. The owners are so friendly and great to chat with. Best place we have been to so far and only about 20 miles from Glacier National Park. We camped at Columbia Falls RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
