Very nice and very clean, the owner is very helpful and ready to answer any question. It is quiet and beautiful at night with the desert sky. The club house is in very good order, plenty of washer and dryers and rest rooms with clean showers. Cable is free and you can get your mail also if staying for awhile.

As the last reviewer stated, it's good for a overnight and thats all. The whole park is slanted downward, at least as far as the RV lots are concerned. Mobile homes surrounding the RV lot with the local community living here. There are school busses, loud trucks, and highway noise. Sites are hard to maneuver. I would not stay here again.

Very clean park. Speed bumps were no issue at all, in fact I wish more parks had these to keep people from speeding, 7 mile an hour speed is enforced. The hosts were very helpful and we enjoyed our stay for a week very much. The dog run had waste in it, but not that much. The store was loaded with goods and we were impressed with the park as a whole.

I want to say first, that the owners try very hard to please. The worst part is lack of room between each site; the sewage drain is right in front of each campsite, barely 8 ft of room between each site. Maybe in 10 years or so, once the new trees are grown somewhat and ever other site is removed, this might be a good park. First thing we noticed was that new pavement was already falling apart, Very few sites are level and the water does not run off very well in the rain. They advertise TV but only a few sites carry any TV at all. This is not the place to go in the off season. Small kids might enjoy the playground but some have nasty words engraved in the plastic. Lots of RV’s living in the rear of the back loop full time it appears. Very little in the store as far as supplies go, but the restrooms are clean. It’s pretty much just two loops in a field. This “resort” is a year old and looks already like it’s been around for years and neglected. The owner of this place needs help with maintaining the park. And even though it was the off season, at no time did we ever see a character in costume.

Normally I'd give this park good ratings, Im sure funding issues are part of the problem, but when you can hire host for a free place to park, there shouldnt be any. Rest rooms were very hot and humid, no air in them at all, showers were not working correctly in the female side..wife let me know of this right away. We will still come back, I just hope they clean up a bit

Every site near the water, nice level lots and many with plenty of shade. The only gripe I have is there are not enough showers. But oh well, you are camping, right?

This is the 3rd time we've camped here and its getting better all the time, The loop sites in back of the Country store have new wood Patio's and Gas Grills. The employees that I saw were well over 40 years of age, and actually took care of every thing and were very nice. Much better then the Teenagers that worked there the last time. You can tell that the camp ground is makeing a change for the best. We will be back, no problems.

Another great weekend spent at FDR. The Park is clean and the lake is full. Callaway Gardens Christmas light show is up and running.

Sites are level, clean rest rooms and easy access to attractions outside the park. Very nice park to relax in. The lack of sewer connections for us is not an issue. good access to the dump site when leaving. If your staying long term sites 1 and 2 have nice rest rooms to use. Nice trails to walk, and a great lake to fish or just relax by. If you have kids, the wild animal park is a must.. Note: rent one of the parks cars to drive...do not drive your car or truck through the park if you value your paint job.. Callaway Gardens is a great place to spend the day also..

This is a beautiful campsite. The ride up to the highest point in Alabama was awesome a litte over 2 thousand feet; the sites were level for the most part, plenty of room between campsites. A few minor negative details were the low water pressure and the height of the sewer caps. Make sure you bring along some way of lifting your sewer hose about a 10 inches off the deck. All in all a wonderful park. We'll be back for sure.

This is my second time, and at best, this is a second rate site, fine for the tents, but the RV,TT sites are becoming worse by the month. The almost too good to be true review written above sounds like an employee written blog to me. It not a bad place but the campsite needs work. We will go back but we're not in any hurry...

the only real complaint would be the need for more rest rooms. The CG is beautiful, quite and well maintained. A terrific spot to park and journey out to Hellen or other attractions in the North Georgia Mountains. Camp host was more then willing to help with any questions. We will be back in the future.

I would have given FDR a 10 except for the fact there are no sewer hook ups "like most State Parks in GA" but there is a dump site at the back gate, and the roads are very narrow. There are new rest room and shower facilities built around the sites which are very clean and kept that way. The sites were large with fire rings and picnic benches. Lots of things to do in the area. Callaway Gardens, wild animal park, horse back riding, and lots of antique stores. We will be back soon.
