Oak Mountain State Park, Pelham, Alabama

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This 10,000 acre state park is awesome. It has a lake, trails for hiking, bikes and horses, there is an archery range, campsites for RVs, trailers and tents. They even have a campsite for camping with your horse. And everything was very clean. We had plenty of space between us the and the neighbors. It was very quiet at night. Many of the RV sites have a separate area for a tent and fire ring. The property is thickly wooded with lots of shade. We stayed three nights in site #24 and it was nearly level. We will be back! We camped at Oak Mountain State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Baton Rouge KOA, Denham Springs, Louisiana

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Good service. Convenient location to shopping and food. We stayed in site #5 for three nights. Sites are all level. It appears that sites #1 to #48, which are closest to the office/store, are for used for short stays. Sites #51 to # 121 for the most part look like long-term residents. The far back rows, sites #101 to #121, looked like a trailer park. All sites are close to each other. We camped at Baton Rouge KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Walnut Woods State Park, West Des Moines, Iowa

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

This is a nice park with about 25 camp sites. The camp sites are part of a larger public park. The area is thickly wooded and shady. The only negative about the grounds is that it is all very level with poor drainage. If you have any rain it will be messy. However, the roads are paved and each site has a concrete pad for your rig so you have good surfaces to walk on even if things are wet. Also on the plus side, all sites are plenty big and most have really good spacing between them. Most sites have only electric service and there are no showers. We camped at Walnut Woods State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Wanderlust RV Park, Eureka Springs, Arkansas

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Great campground for it's location to Eureka Springs, clean sites and restrooms, helpful staff and most sites have some shade. The only negative is that most sites are pretty close to each other. We will use this campground again! We camped at Wanderlust RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Lake Fort Smith State Park, Mountainburg, Arkansas

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed two nights in June of 2018. This park was completely rebuilt about 10 years ago so it is set up for large modern RVs and travel trailers but it only has about 30 RV/travel trailer sites. Every site is awesome! There is more than the standard amount of space between them and 2 or 3 are pull-throughs. We used site #27 and it was nearly level. The showers were clean and well maintained. There is a nice victor's center, pool, cabins and marina. The park has a few hiking trails that join the property and they are great. This park is first class. We camped at Lake Fort Smith State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Blowing Springs Campground, Bella Vista, Arkansas

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed one night in May of 2018. The site was clean and nearly level; we only had to do minor shimming. The sites are close together but there is adequate room for a few lawn chairs. There are a few trails that connect to the park and are good for short hikes and are easy to moderate skill level. The park is only about one mile from the highway and everything is paved leading to the park. We camped at Blowing Springs Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Kansas City East / Oak Grove KOA, Oak Grove, Missouri

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Close to I-70 and only about 20 minutes from Kansas City. There is some road noise from the interstate but it was not too noticable. The roads and camp sites are gravel so there is some dust. The staff was helpful getting us into our site and the campground was very clean. Most sites have some shade. This was the second time we stayed here and will do so again if we are in the area. We camped at Kansas City East / Oak Grove KOA in a Travel Trailer.
