We stayed here for 3 days. We live on Long Island. There are a few sections of this park. There is a public area for picnics and heading to the beach, those areas are very very busy. There is another area for tents only, that area again was pretty busy but looked nice. Then there is your area for the RVs, that area is really beautiful. Our site was on the south loop and was shady, very quiet and bordered the forest area. We loved it. It was a full hook up site with lots of areas for the kids to ride their bicycles. It was very peaceful and it seems everyone in this loop were pretty quiet. The kids really enjoyed themselves and since are pretty close in West Islip, that was another plus. There is a camp store on site. Firewood was $7.00 and you have to rent a fire ring for another $7.50 for 1 night. If you do not take it back before 11am, you will lose your deposit. You have to drive to the beach from where we were, you can ride your bike but you cannot take your bikes down to the beach. There is very steep hill down to the beach, if you are with elderly etc walk it down first to make sure. The beach is very very rocky, you will have to wear water shoes. In the camping area we did not find any playgrounds. There is a public playground but it was packed with kids when we went. Again, the public areas are very busy, not the best if you have smaller children. I rated the park an 7, if there were other amenities such as a pool etc I would have rated higher. There was no cable either. The girls at the front desk are awesome, very nice and friendly. One thing I liked was the park police patrolled often and stayed at the front gate at night. Overall we liked the park a lot and would definitely stay there again. We were lucky to get reservations this time!

We loved this park, it's so beautiful! The campgrounds are very hilly which is great. The sites next to us were lower than us. Our site needed about 6 inches of levelling from one side to another. The entire area is very clean and there is a lot to do. The kids had a blast. The pool is large and overlooks the lake. The lake is absolutely beautiful. We did fishing and tried to rent the boats but they had an employee appreciation day and closed the rentals at 5:45pm which was OK. There is a nice playground next to the lake and a nice snack bar. I wish there were more bike trails for the younger kids but you have to be careful since the campsite is pretty hilly. There's also mini golf which is again beautiful. We did not get a chance to play but walked around the area. This is one of those campgrounds that you do not have to leave. The only thing that did not work well was the WiFi. We were pretty close to the main area as well. Either way, we loved it and can't wait to go there again. You have to check it out!

We stayed at this park for one night. We were on the way to Odetah and leave one day early and stop off here. This park was "OK". One thing we noticed immediately was the sites were very close together. We did not like that at all. Even backing into my site was harder since the tow vehicles of the neighbors sites blocked the angle. There is a nice playground for the kids and the entrance was nice looking. Once you get into the park itself, that we did not like. The roads are not paved either, so if you have kids with bikes, it is harder to ride there. There are a lot of seasonals which I think takes away from the park. Now, the pond. The pond looks dirty and is very small. That did not seem to bother the kids since there were a lot in there. Our site had full hookups but we could only back in so far since there was an incline. We had to disconnect the tow vehicle right way so others could pass. Since this was a one nighter, we were going to leave it hooked up but were not able to. We would not say here again. It's not that bad but just not what we are used to. My wife was not happy with the overall appearance either.

We stayed here for 2 days. First Warning - Do not try to put the address in a GPS system, I put the address in my Garmin C340 and it routed me 45 minutes away. When I called for the specific directions, the front desk warned me not to put in the GPS but it was too late. The directions they have me over the phone were perfect and we arrived an hour later. The park is close to a lot of things, from rafting, to shopping and paintball. Upon entering the park, check in was quick. Keep in mind they do not take credit/debit cards, cash only. They had someone escort us to our site which was nice. There is no way we would have found the site either. The roads leading to the site are all gravel and this park is very hilly. This park makes you feel you are in a small forest, there are trees everywhere and the sites are pretty spacious and private. We had a back in site and it had a lot of room. The Wifi was intermittent inside the camper but outside was perfect. The campground seems a bit older and needs updating but fine for just the casual camper. I'll explain updating. The bathrooms are clean and work but to take a shower, you have to pull down on a chain to get water. I did not like that. The bathrooms were clean. The pool was small and located just on the front entrance, not too private. We played a few games of pool for $1.00 per game and there were a bunch more solids than stripes and also had extra balls, not too much of a big deal but something they can spend $20 and fix especially charging $1.00 a game. There are no on site garbage cans, I did not find any near us either. We had to take the garbage out to the dumpster each day. Front desk attendants were nice. Thanks to the camper that helped us with our awning! Overall we liked the privacy of the park and they way it felt like you were in a little forest with all the beautiful trees. Would definitely stay here again.

We arrived there and immediately liked the park. The roads were nicely paved and the park was very clean. Our site had a garbage can which I liked. You pull up, registration was easy and everyone was very nice. I arrived to my site and did not like it since it was 100% in the sun, there was no shade and it was a small site. The person at the front desk did state if I had any issues with the site to let him know. I went back and asked for another site that I liked and they ok'd it. The new site was close to a bathroom and a baseball field. It was quiet and had good distance away from our neighbors. The bathrooms were spotless, I could not believe how clean they were. This site was rather expensive and you had to pay for the wifi service where most other parks are free. There was just one thing I did not like, you cannot use your car to get to the ponds that have the little boats or fishing. You have to use a bicycle and it was a rather long walk from where we were. I wish I knew that beforehand and would have taken the bikes. Overall the park is very nice but things are far apart for my taste. I don't like to have to drive to get to the amenities inside the park, a nice walk is ok but most things were too far for a walk, especially when carrying things with you.

First off, we loved this campground and see why everyone rated it as a 10. We did as well. We stayed here after reading all the reviews but primarily because we were taking the kids to Dutch Wonderland. We stayed on the far corner, the closest site to the monorail and roller coaster and it was fun. With the AC on in the trailer, we did not hear a sound. Dutch wonderland closes at 8:30pm so don't worry too much but if we stayed here and had no issues, no one else should worry. You can easily walk over to Dutch Wonderland so that is also a big plus. This park was so peaceful. They had a very small playground but it was perfect, my wife even went on the swings for an hour. The playground is next to a stream. The stream has a lot of ducks which the kids loved. We almost ran out of bread with all the feedings. Across the stream are cows, they are all over. We loved that since it was nice for the kids to see this considering we live in the city area. There is a little area to go fishing on the stream and we saw a few campers catching fishes as well. The park does not have a pool and a lot to offer but that is why we most liked it. You really get the time to spend with your kids. Normally the kids would want to be in the pool etc but we got the most conversation and time spent with our kids out of all the parks we have been to so far. The staff is amazingly nice. Our daughter got very sick (not related to the park) and we called the desk and advised we would be leaving one day early. The desk advised if we left at 9pm they would not charge us for the day, I thought that was very nice. Not sure if I got the credit since I did not check yet. We are definitely going back there a few more times. Everything is close by, we checked out the Amish Areas, went fishing locally, went to Dutch Wonderland a few times. Aim to get to the campground at 2pm. Set up, eat, relax until 5pm. Walk over to Dutch Wonderland by 5:30pm and enter but buy your tickets at the campground. If you go to Dutch Wonderland at 5:30pm you can also use your existing tickets for the next day. We did that and it worked out well. The kids really loved it. Overall we really loved this campground and the girls at the front counter were very nice. Here's an example. I paid for the tickets, she charged my card. I then needed some other items, she charged it again, I then forgot one more item, she had to charge it again. She smiled and was nice, sometimes you can get an attitude but not there. Also when I checked out it was a few min passed 9pm and they were closing with the lights off. They let me in and checked me out past 9pm, how nice are they? I rated them a 10. Now, the only 1 thing I would like to see at this campground is one garbage can per site. There were large ones centrally located and we just walked over there but it would be nice to have one per site (normal size ones). They deserve their 10 out of 10 ratings!

I went to this park recently with a few friends. We liked it. It was close to our home and only stayed one day to attend the beach. The beach area did have a lot of people, it was clean but the crowds did leave garbage in the beach area. The park is HUGE, you will need a car to get around. There are not a lot of amenities but if you are tent camping you will like it. I miss the full hookups so not sure if I will be going here again for that fact. We did not use the bathrooms so I cannot comment on them.
