A wonderful place to stay. Every type of RV site that one would want. We always like the pull through sites, which they have many. All are gravel for parking with grass surrounding the site. Most have small trees between other sites. For the money this campground is really a find. Great cable TV and cell service. Friendly staff. This is an overnight stop when we go to Maine so we do not use any of the facilities. Will continue to return.

We make Shore Hills Campground our "home when we are in Maine. It is easy drive from up and down the coast of Maine. Shore Hills has every type of RV camp site you need. From pull throughs to shady sites. We had a back in site that had gravel for parking the MH and grass for the dogs. They are very dog friendly which we enjoy. The owners are extremely nice as are the work kampers and make you feel welcome. Cable TV is excellent and great cell service. We continue to return here because it offers everything we are looking for in a campground.

This was an overnight stay from NC to Maine. We were able to drive farther than expected and knew if we did not stop at Tri State, we would be out of options. We had overnighted at this campground many years ago and did not feel comfortable. However this year it was different. There are many permanant sites, but those sites seem to be much cleaner than last time we were here. Also the grass had been cut. Last time we were here it appreared the grass had not been cut in weeks. It really isn't set up for overnights since it is mainly permanant rvs so it is difficult to find a check in person. However when you finally find the person they are friendly. As of 2012, I would reccomend this place for an overnight stay if in a bind. It is very close to I-84 so easy on/off.

In the 28 years of rving, this is by far the best KOA we have ever stayed at. Can't believe it is a KOA!!! Usually KOA's are expensive for what you get. This place is beautiful and for $37 a night is a bargin!! Every site looks to be a good size with gravel for the rv and grass surrounding it. We had a pull thru with plenty of room between sites. The permanant sites are very nice - clean, great decks, attractive rv's. The staff is very friendly. And if you have a problem with your rv, they do have a rv repair service company that is very reasonable.

We stayed here for 2 weeks while in Maine. We were in the "Deer Run" part of the park. This part of the campground does not have any trees. The sites are gravel for parking the RV with grass. The sites in the middle seem to be smaller than the ones on the 2 sides. We had a site on the right hand side with plenty of room for the MH and plenty of grass for our 2 small dogs. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. They have a shuttle to Boothbay Harbor, however we never used it. We have found this campground to be an easy drive to all areas of the coast of Maine. It is also very close to grocery stores (which a lot of campgrounds in Maine are not), drug stores, vets, a lot of great restaurants, lighthouses, scenic trips, antiques, and small "fishing" villages. Because of this, the friendly staff (including the owner, who is wonderful!) and the sites, we will continue to make this our "home" spot when in Maine!

I really don't know where to begin with this review! We have never had to stop over in this area on our way to Maine but due to motorhome problems, this year was an exception. I called about an hour away to make sure they had pull though sites available since we didn't want to unhook the car from motorhome for a quick overnight stay, which the woman that answered the phone assured me they did. Getting to this campground is a problem since it is a very narrow road. We met a few school buses, and either we stopped or the school bus stopped because there is no way a motorhome and school bus can pass safely beside each other. When we checked in we asked for a pull through and the lady just laughed. In fact that is all she did - started wondering if she wasn't on something - really weird! What we actually got was strange - never in 30 years of RVing have we run across this. She had us pull in length wise to 4 back in sites (which means we were blocking 4 back in sites) and that is what she was calling a pull through!!! I will say it worked out fine, just seemed strange! Also at check in the price quoted on the phone an hour before we got there ended up being $10 higher when we got there!!! Although Woodalls and the woman stated they have pull throughs, I did not see one. When we were leaving the next morning, we exited the way the campground instructs. Oh boy, what a mess. In the motorhome we had to take a hard left, which is a very narrow area with rocks on the right hand side of the road. I got out of the motorhome and the right hand side of the motorhome came within inches, and I really mean inches of the rocks!! This is not a place we would stay again and hope we will never have to!

As many times as we have been to Maine we had never stayed at Shore Hills. However, last year we did go through it and decided we would try it this year. I am so glad we did. This campground really does have a site for anyone's taste. We wanted a pull through, but they have many back ins, shaded, and private sites, plus some with water views. The grounds are kept very clean. The women at the desk when we checked in didn't seem to have a grasp on the reservation system, which is pencil and ledger, not computer, however the owner was also behind the counter and was extremely friendly and helpful. We didn't know if we wanted to stay the entire time at Shore Hills or go to another campground half way through our trip. This was causing the 1st women problems. The owner stepped in and gave us a pull through, which is what we wanted plus told us if we wanted to extend our stay, it would be no problem and we would not have to move. We ended staying at Shore Hills our entire stay for many reasons. 1) staff always friendly. 2) very pet friendly. 3) great place for day trips south or north from Boothbay. 4)met some people that stay the season and enjoyed their company plus some fulltimers beside us that we enjoyed. 5) most important the owners are exceptional, very hands on, friendly, and wanting to please. We go to Maine very year for 3 weeks in the September time frame, and we now have found a "home."

When we go to Maine, Lickdale is a good overnight stop for us from NC. This year due to the rains in the area, our usual campground was flooded. Although I'm sorry to hear this, it was due to this that we found Twin Grove Resort. I must say we will continue to use this campground. We also stayed here on our return home. It is one of the best campgrounds we have stayed in. There are many very long and wide pull through sites with gravel for parking the rig with grass surrounding the area. The staff is outstanding - very professional and friendly. On our trip up to Maine, we realized our hot water heater was not working and needless to say we wanted to get it fixed before continuing our trip. The office has someone they use who came to our site the next morning, fixing the problem quickly and in a very professional manner. To me, the rates are very reasonable for what this campground offers. On our return trip from Maine we ate in the restaurant and the food was very good. I am so happy we found this gem of a campground and will continue to return.

This was a one night stop over so my rating reflects this. It meet our needs, which was a pull thru site so we did not have to unhook the toad. Other than that, it is not a campground we would use. It just did not look sanitary and the rate is to much for this campground.

Date of Stay:

We have used this campground before as a stopover from leaving Maine and returning to NC. The main reason is the pull through sites, which allows not unhooking the toad. Well no more. Obviously the rates jumped to the point we would never stay there again. The clerk told us their normal rates for the big rig sites are $72 a night. Thank goodness we were there on the least expensive weekend of the year and it was only $45. It would have been $50 but being over 65 gave us $5 off. Since we only need a place to sleep and not all of the amenities, this place is definitely off our list. For families, this place is a 10, I'm sure. I am giving it a 4 because of the rates of the big rig sites.

This is an adult campground that is very quiet and very clean. There are seasonals but are again very neat. The owners are probably in their late 30's and are extremely helpful. We had the largest of the pull thru sites, which was still more narrow than we like. Our rate reflects a fall rate, otherwise it would have been $45. Although we did not use the bathrooms or the laundry facilities, we did check them out and all areas were very clean. We definitely enjoyed our stay here and would return. I would have rated this campground a 10 if the pull thru sites were larger.

Great state park. We usually do not use state parks, however this one was recommended and we did find it to be very nice. Although we did not use the bathhouse, we did check them out and they were very clean. Some sites are wide open with very little privacy. Others have trees, bushes that affords some privacy. The site we had, #66, was private and I felt one of the best sites in the park. Our 38ft MH fit nicely on the pad but we did have to park the toad sideways, so this site might not work for larger RVs. The campground is on the beach and also has the canal that boats go through. Apparently great fishing (we do not fish) since we watch many rvers catching large fish. Close to most things on the Cape. Only negative was staff didn't seem to be very knowledgeable about the area. We asked questions and basically given the usual brochures but no info.

We stayed here for just an overnighter. We are self contained so don't know anything about the bath house. We did like this for an overnighter. Our pull thru site was long enough for our 38ft plus toad without unhooking. They have many pullthrus, some are over looking a stream. There are seasonals here that need TLC, however the pullthrus are not in that area. Sites are of good size, with gravel pad and surrounding grass that is mowed. Stream sites are gravel with rock and grass. A big plus for us was we arrived at 4:45 pm and getting hungry. The general store has hot and cold food available. We went with a bucket of chicken, which was just cooked (had to wait for it) that consisted of 2 breast, 2 thighs, 4 legs and 3 side items (individual servings on side items) for $12. Each chicken part was huge! Prices for all of the food items were very reasonable. The store opens at 4am so can easily go in to grab something before taking to the road again. This was a great overnight stop since it is right off Interstate 81 and one that I would stay in for a few days if self contained. Manager is very friendly and seems to be ready to help in any way. Other staff is young and are not really sure what they are doing but manager seems to be on duty to make sure things are operating smoothly. There is no cable and we could only get one channel, however this was not a concern to us. I'm giving this an 8 because it met our needs as an overnight park and with food provided, it was a big plus.

Campground is very neat and clean and staff is very friendly. All of the sites we saw were nicely spaced apart - many with trees, grass and some dirt and many with full grass. Getting into the campground with a big rig is tight but doable. From the staff, they planning on a new entrance. Some of the turns in the campground are tight but again doable. Although it should have cable, the campground is laid out well and is so beautiful.

Date of Stay:

This campground is very pretty, clean and well landscaped. Managers are very friendly and take pride in keeping the campground beautiful. Sites are gravel with grass. Some are overlooking lake/pond. If you are an overnighter and need a pull through, the sites are nice but the way you must enter/exit is differently a hassle - this is the reason for an 9. Otherwise would give this place a 10. Very peaceful and definitely easy from Interstate 81.
