Tropic Star RV Resort, Pharr, Texas

Date of Stay: January, 2017 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

This park is tired looking, and although there are plenty of activities (run by very friendly volunteers), the owners have not seen fit to invest any money into it since we came here 7 years ago. The RV lots are in poor condition, the roads uneven, and the "Free WiFi" very unreliable. We went to a park meeting and the attendees were very hostile to the regional manager. After talking to some of the attendees I understood why. The regional manager had a bad attitude and talked down to the residents. The washrooms although clean are dark and in dire need of upgrading. Park security is not good, we heard of several bicycle thefts while we were there, and saw stray dogs running through the park on a couple of occasions. We camped at Tropic Star RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Circle B Campground, Angola, Indiana

Date of Stay: April, 2012 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Park is 2 miles from I-69, and convenient for "Winter Texans" heading home to Michigan and Ontario in the spring, as the transient sites are available with full hook ups. Staff is friendly, and the sites are nice and long. Price paid is the off season rate. We camped at Circle B Campground in a Motorhome.

Hope Village Inn & RV Park, Hope, Arkansas

Date of Stay: April, 2012 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Park is OK for overnight stay, but would not be suitable for expended stays unless you only want a base camp. Most of the "campers" appear to be workers, with several FEMA trailers being used. Pads are concrete and fairly level, so easy to set up. Interstate is close by, as is a railroad, so background noise is high. We camped at Hope Village Inn & RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Whittington Woods Campground, Whittington, Illinois

Date of Stay: April, 2012 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Was welcomed by the friendly owner. Campground is very well maintained, with good level sites and easy access. Used trailer facilities so cannot comment on showers and washrooms. However based on condition of park, I expect that they are very good. Easy access from interstate, but not too noisy considering that interstate is visible from park. We camped at Whittington Woods Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Parry Sound KOA, Parry Sound, Ontario

Date of Stay: August, 2011 - $53.00
Overall Rating:

This is an average park. Some treed sites, some in the open. Site landscaping could be improved. WQe found the nightly fee excessive considering the lack of sewer hookups and general park appearance. Staff were friendly and helpful though. We camped at Parry Sound KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Sault Ste.Marie KOA, Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario

Date of Stay: August, 2011 - $53.00
Overall Rating:

One of the best KOA's we've seen. Very friendly and helpful owners, and very efficient staff. Park is clean and tidy, with good sized sites and enough trees for shade if required. Cable TV was good and Wi-Fi available at sites although it was slow sometimes. The owners are RV'ers themselves and this shows in how they run the park. We camped at Sault Ste.Marie KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Gros Morne RV Campground, Rocky Harbour, Newfoundland

Date of Stay: July, 2009 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

This is a large park with plenty of room for big rigs. Sites are plan gravel for the most part. Park is close to Rocky Harbor for shopping, and this town is fairly well centered in the National Park. I would stay here again. We camped at Gros Morne RV Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Viking RV Park, Quirpon, Newfoundland

Date of Stay: July, 2009 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Rated this park as a 8 because it was very convenient to the National Historic Site at L'Anse aux Meadows. Negatives are that we couldn't drink the water while we were there, and they ran out of 30 amp sites. Recommend the "Northern Delight" restaurant just down the road for excellent food at reasonable price. We camped at Viking RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Peyton's Woods RV Park & Campground, Twillingate, Newfoundland

Date of Stay: July, 2009 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

This park is close to the beach and we were able to see the Capelin roll in. It is convenient for sightseeing around Twillingate (great icebergs!) The owners were very friendly and especially helpful when our RV needed an emergency repair. They made several phone calls on our behalf and followed up to ensure that we got what we needed. We camped at Peyton's Woods RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Paradise Farm Trailer Park, Bonavista, Newfoundland

Date of Stay: July, 2009 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

I rated this park high because although the facilities are fairly basic, the owners make you feel so welcome. They were very friendly and forthcoming with all kinds of information. We had a lot of fun in our conversations with them. The park is also close to Bonavista, and to Trinity. We camped at Paradise Farm Trailer Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Camping Transit, Levis, Quebec

Date of Stay: July, 2009 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

I rated this park as only average because of the large number of seasonal residents who are not terribly friendly, the high fee that we paid for a water and electric site, the not very welcoming staff, and the fact that the dump station had no flushing hose. I shall not return there. We camped at Camping Transit in a Fifth Wheel.

Grand Codroy RV-tent Camping Park, Doyles, Newfoundland

Date of Stay: July, 2009 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

Probably the best park on the island when you consider the nice lots, full service and friendliness of the owners. We had to stay longer here due to ferry problems, and the owners were very accommodating. We camped at Grand Codroy RV-tent Camping Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Maussa Farah Campground (formerly Marsh View Campground), Sackville, New Brunswick

Date of Stay: June, 2009 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

No one at office when checking in, he arrived much later. Office area is an eyesore - with auto parts and parts of wrecked vehicles lying around. Found only 3 30 A sites for our group of four. Rest of sites are 15 amp. Many sites had no power due to blown or missing fuses at site. The electrical service is archaic - many sites have home made boxes and still use the screw in type fuses - not breakers. One of the main service poles will likely fall over in next storm, and cable is tangled within a couple of trees. Sites are all grass and reasonably level. Water is cloudy and slightly brown. Washrooms and shower are not well maintained. Stayed the night, because we were there, and it was an experience! However, I do not recommend the place to anyone. We camped at Maussa Farah Campground (formerly Marsh View Campground) in a Fifth Wheel.

Kansas City East Trailside RV Park, Grain Valley, Missouri

Date of Stay: April, 2009 - $23.00
Overall Rating:

Low rating due to campgrounds proximity to interstate It is very close. Consequently, a peaceful sleep is very difficult to obtain. Sites are also narrow, rough and uneven, and not well cared for. Office staff, however, was very welcoming. We camped at Kansas City East Trailside RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
