Little Turtle RV & Storage, Eufaula, Oklahoma

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

Nice large park with easy access in and out. Large concrete area for checking at office. The sites are level concrete pads with grass in between. There is a section of sites around a large pond that include covered tables. WiFi was decent as was Verizon. There is a fenced in pet area for both large and small pets. Streets in the park are gravel. A few of the sites have trees, but most are open. They have a great multi-purpose building and a very nice pool area. We would stay here again when in the area. We camped at Little Turtle RV & Storage in a Motorhome.

Yellowstone Valley Inn & RV Park, Cody, Wyoming

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $62.00
Overall Rating:

Overall a nice park and a pleasant stay. The entire complex is gravel and not only includes RV sites but also cabins, rooms, and apartments. The park's west edge is next to the Shoshone river. There is some grass around the edge of the park and near the pool area where a pet can get off of the rocks. The park has a pool and hot tub, both clean and receive maintenance on a regular basis. The restaurant is just OK, our burgers came out as hockey pucks, the waitress offered to have it recooked but we decided not to wait. The wifi was very useable as was Verizon data service. Our site was level, big enough for our 40' coach, and had room for the towed at the rear. The restroom/showers were clean individual rooms in the shower house. We were here for 4 days while doing Yellowstone and would consider staying here again. The price seemed a higher than others in the area, but this park also has more amenities than the others. We camped at Yellowstone Valley Inn & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Shelby Country Inn & RV Park, Shelby, Iowa

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

A very basic park with no wifi and no cable. This is a field (no trees any place) with a gravel road in the park; some gravel with grass growing in it for parking your rig. Maintenance and grounds upkeep do not appear to be a strong suite for this place, that said, they did mow while we were there. The sites are so close together that two rigs with slideouts on both side would almost touch. The shower-house/rest-room/meeting-room building was clean enough and they did let us use the meeting room for our rally for no charge. Verizon service works OK. When registering, stop at the entrance to the park and walk over to the motel office to register. This is an acceptable place to overnight with full hookups. We camped at Shelby Country Inn & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Absaroka Bay RV Park, Cody, Wyoming

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very clean and well maintained park. The sites are very close together (and short for a big MH), but there is a small strip of thick green grass between the gravel area for parking. With a 40' coach and an F150, we had to park the truck at the front of the rig crossways to be able to be out of the road. The streets are asphalt with some tight turns for a bigger rig. unhook your towed at the office. With our slides out, the neighbor's awing was six inches from our slide. The laundry, showers, and restrooms are in a basic block building but clean and well maintained. Verizon data service is slow, and the park's wifi is slow to the point of unusable sometimes. The GPS address will bring you in the back side of the park. If coming from the east, you can directly turn into the park about 100yds before the GPS has you turn, look for their sign hidden in some trees. This is a good park to overnight at or see the area from. We would stay here again if in the area. We camped at Absaroka Bay RV Park in a Motorhome.

Blue Ox RV Park, Pender, Nebraska

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here while on our way to Wyoming with a group of 25 coaches. We stopped for tow bar maintenance and a factory tour. It was hot and there were low voltage problems with having enough power for that many rigs to run their air conditioners. With that said, it is a nice park with both some gravel and some concrete sites, the roads are gravel. Mostly this is for people coming to Pender for work by BLue Ox. If that's your case, you get to stay for free. If you're passing through the area you can stay there for a small $15 charge. Blue Ox was great to work with and had a electrician work on the problems when they occurred. Thank you Blue Ox for being such a fantastic host! We would stay here again if in the area. We camped at Blue Ox RV Park in a Motorhome.

Rapid City RV Park and Campground, Rapid City, South Dakota

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $53.00
Overall Rating:

The current park owners are in the process of making improvements, but there is a long way to go. The park sets on a hillside and the sites are terraced, but only by banked dirt, no retaining wall of any kind. The park roads are rough, patched asphalt with lots of bumps and valleys. The have recently installed new electric service and the backfill is not compacted, so several site have ruts the owners are working on. The new pedestals for electric service only have an outlet, no breakers at the pedestal. The site surfaces are mostly gravel with a thin layer of asphalt that has broken up over time. The sites are very close, mostly level, but narrow and short for the bigger rigs, requiring you to unhook and park away from the site. The owners are very nice and helpful and working to improve the park. Verizon data service is slow but usable, trees on some sites block satellite. Electric and water service were both adequate with no issues. Overall the park needs lots of work and the owner are making improvements. This is an ok (but not great) place to stay while in the area and priced typically for the location and time of year. We camped at Rapid City RV Park and Campground in a Motorhome.

J.B.'s RV Park & Campground, Benton, Arkansas

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

A decent place to overnight, lots of trees, kind of a "woodsy" park. Access from the interstate is easy and it is far enough away so as not to have any road noise. There are several long term residents at the rear of the park with short stay sites near the front. The sites and roads are gravel and easy enough for a big rig to navigate. There are several trees and most sites might have satellite reception issues with a rig mounted dish. Verizon service was good. We were meet by the owner when we drove up, he showed us to our site and helped us get parked. The restrooms, showers, and laundry are all in a common building that would be considered basic but adequate and clean. When needing a place in the area, we would stay here again. We camped at J.B.'s RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Las Quintas Oasis RV Resort (55+ park), Yuma, Arizona

Date of Stay: February, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This park is located about 8 miles east of downtown Yuma, just off of the frontage road for I8, but the road noise is not that noticeable. Access to the park is easy from the frontage road. The park has several seasonal and park models in the back half of the park with a section in the front of the park primarily for short timers. They have wide asphalt streets and large, acceptably level gravel sites with a concrete walkway. There is no shade in the park, but it has several palm trees. The park is very clean and well kept. It features a large, modern community center with several scheduled activities throughout the week. The wifi is very usable, better than many of the parks we have stayed at. There is a nice pet area near the community center. It is all pea gravel and kept very clean, no grass for pets anyplace. The park has very defined pet/no pet areas; pets are not allowed near any of the buildings/common areas. There are several rules but none unreasonable. This a great place to stay for several days and visit the Yuma area. We recommend this park. The above price is the daily cost of the weekly rate. There are several other parks in the Yuma area that are less expensive, but they are also not as nice. We camped at Las Quintas Oasis RV Resort (55+ park) in a Motorhome.

Tucumcari KOA, Tucumcari, New Mexico

Date of Stay: January, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This is a decent place to overnight and the staff/owners are friendly. We were escorted to our site and assisted with parking. The roads and sites are mostly gravel with some grass/dirt between sites. There are some trees but not really a lot of shade and not in the way. Access to the campground is not a problem and there isn't any significant road noise. The office is also a camp store with some basic camping supplies and some food. This is a typical older KOA, a little tired but totally usable and great for overnighting. We would overnight here again when passing thru. We camped at Tucumcari KOA in a Motorhome.

Wanderlust Crossings RV Park, Weatherford, Oklahoma

Date of Stay: December, 2017 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

This is by far the nicest park along I40 between Amarillo and Oklahoma City. It is easy access from the interstate, but far enough that there is no noticeable road noise. The park opened new in June 2017. The streets are asphalt and easy to navigate. The sites are concrete and level with a patio. The spaces between sites are dense sod. This park was done right, very nice. The entire south side of the park is a sodded area for walking pets. The showers, restrooms, and laundry are all very clean and nice and there are storm shelters located in the park. The office and store area are also large and nice. The owner and staff are very friendly and helpful. This is another one of our "rated 10, highly recommended" parks. We camped at Wanderlust Crossings RV Park in a Motorhome.

Black Mesa State Park, Kenton, Oklahoma

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

This is a great state park in the extreme west pan handle of OK, the nearest gas/store/town is 30 miles away. The skies are very dark at night, a great place for star gazing/astronomy. The park ranger is very friendly and helpful. There are multiple camp areas, some with concrete pads in the shade near the restroom (slight occasional smell depending on wind), others with covered tables on open grass spaced out widely, and some others that are a bit closer together. All of the roads are paved. Each of the sites have electricity and most all have water. All of these are at the south end of a small lake. Verizon cell service is non existent, but there is some slow wifi available near the park office. This is a very tranquel place to get away and disconnect, relax, and enjoy the outdoors. Be sure to bring a fly swatter!! The flies are terrible in this part of OK. We camped at Black Mesa State Park in a Motorhome.

Rafter J Bar Ranch Camping Resort, Hill City, South Dakota

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $56.00
Overall Rating:

Several of the previous reviews do a great job of describing the park and its amenities and they are all accurate. However, there are a couple of items that need to be mentioned. The park is devided into several areas, some more open, others more treed. We stayed in the "Base Camp" section which is relatively open. The roads and sites in our area were both gravel. The sites and roads can be very close. Some sites are just too tight/close to be practical for larger rigs. Several of the sites were not very level are required some blocking to get rigs level. The roads have lots of erosion and need some maintenance. Otherwise, this is a very nice park in a great area with helpful staff. We would stay here again when in the area. We camped at Rafter J Bar Ranch Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

High Point RV Park, Enid, Oklahoma

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

The park is about 2 mile north of US412 on one of Enid's main streets, easy to get in and out of. The park is an RV communities with permanent residents and overnight sites which are close to the office and easy enough to get in. These sites are pull thru but can be a bit tight making the swing if you have a longer MH and a towed. The sites have trees and you need to watch for slide clearance when setting up. Satellite reception will depend on whether or not you can get you dish out from under the trees. The cable TV signal was digital with 100+ channels, very clear. Verizon service is usable, we didn't use their WiFi. The sites are gravel and level, the streets are asphalt and easy to navigate. This park is good place to overnight or spend a few days in the area. We have used this park before and will stay here again the next time we are going thru the area. We camped at High Point RV Park in a Motorhome.

Victorian Acres Campground, Nebraska City, Nebraska

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

This is a nice park to overnight at or spend a few days in the area. The roads and sites are gravel, so there is some dust near the main road. The park is a few miles west of I-29 but easy to get to. The entrance is on the north side of the road, watch for it, it can be easy to miss. There is a nice, slightly older, but clean clubhouse that contains the restrooms & showers, laundry, and meeting area with kitchen. All these facilities are clean and well kept. The staff is very nice. There is some shade and the park has some common areas. Our site was open enough for satellite, others have trees that could be an issue. We have stayed here several times and will continue to when we are in the area. We camped at Victorian Acres Campground in a Motorhome.

Elk Creek RV Park, Elk City, Oklahoma

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

This is an older park that is showing some signs of its age, adequate for trailer and smaller fifth wheels. Some of the spaces are very tight and require disconnectioning your towed to get into. Several of these tight spaces do not allow room to put your slides out if there is someone next to you that has their slides out. The restrooms and showers need some cleaning and maintanence. Not a lot of options in this area, its an OK place to overnight, but in the future we'll try to find someplace else. We camped at Elk Creek RV Park in a Motorhome.
