Lancaster / New Holland KOA , New Holland, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $59.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very clean campground with excellent security. You are given a gate card to access the campground, a $20 charge will be made to your credit card if you don't return the access card. The restrooms were very clean, however the toilets do not flush properly, there is a sign on each toilet stating to 'hold the handle until it flushes', well, that did not always work as the water flow is too weak to flush. This situation was in both the mens and ladies restrooms. They need to either repair the flushing mechanism or install toilets that flush properly. The site we had was plenty large for our 32' motorhome, and the view of the farmland and distant hills was fantastic, very pretty and restful. The power and cable worked very well. The other negative about this campground is there is not a pool, it was in the 90's when we were there and a pool would have been very nice to have. My biggest complaint though is the non-flushing toilets. We camped at Lancaster / New Holland KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The Shady Maple complex is nearby for the smorgasbord, which is excellent, and the Shady Maple grocery store which offers very fresh food at reasonable prices. Also, the Amish area has many interesting sites to see..

Prince of Tucson RV Park, Tucson, Arizona

Date of Stay: March, 2017 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This is a park of contrasts, the landscaping at the entrance is very nice, and although the park is literally next to the Interstate Highway retaining wall, the wall is painted and since the roadway is so high, you don't hear any traffic noise. Check in was very pleasant, the office area was nice with a spacious, comfortable lounge. We were escorted to our pull through site which was long and appeared of average width for a campsite. That is when the fun began, we pulled into the site leaving about 4' on the drivers side for the slide outs, we were told, this is two sites, you need to move over so the motorhome wheels were about 12" from the utilities to allow room for another RV which will pull in the opposite direction than we were facing. Our slide outs are both on the drivers side, and when extended were a few inches past the utility box. After awhile, the same gentleman pulled up leading a 5th wheel into the neighboring site. To make a long story short, once our neighbor was guided into just the "right" spot, his slides were deployed on both sides of his rig, without exaggeration, we had about 12" to 14" between our rigs, the neighbor had to maneuver such that his slide was positioned so we could open the door to our motorhome. Fortunately our new neighbor and I have good senses of humor, so at least we did not have any issues with each other. Shortly thereafter a motorhome pulled in on the other side of us, and the slides were also about 12" apart. All the sites in our section were that tight, other areas had a bit more space, but not much. The grounds and restrooms were very clean though, thus the 'good' rating. We camped at Prince of Tucson RV Park in a Motorhome.

Las Cruces KOA, Las Cruces, New Mexico

Date of Stay: March, 2017 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

Very clean park, sites and roads are gravel with concrete strips to park your RV on. Most sites have a shade tree to help keep your rig out of the sun all day. Every day the roads and sites were raked! The utilities worked well with good water pressure. The sites were a bit narrow, but are angled in such a way that the neighboring rig did not completely block your view of the town of Las Cruces in the valley. We camped at Las Cruces KOA in a Motorhome.

Memphis KOA , Marion, Arkansas

Date of Stay: March, 2017 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

The only reason I did not rate this a 10 is due to the highway noise from I-55. We arrived at the CG around 5:30 and as we checked in they asked if we wanted a BBQ dinner for $10.99 ea, we said yes and they delivered dinner to our site! There is also a cafe on site which served hot breakfast for a very reasonable price. Both the dinner and breakfast were delicious. We booked a tour, through the campground, of Memphis & Graceland. The tour company picked us up and brought us back to the CG, great service. Best of all, when we booked the tour, we were asked if we wanted them to walk our dog a couple times during the day while we were on the tour, this service was provided at no charge!! The restrooms and grounds were very clean. We camped at Memphis KOA in a Motorhome.

Memphis TN is a short drive from the campground and Graceland is worth visiting even if you aren't a big fan of Elvis.

Grand Canyon Camper Village, Tusayan, Arizona

Date of Stay: March, 2017 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

In 32 years of RVing, we have never stayed in such a run down, filthy and unsanitary campground. The bathroom sink counters are tiled, however the tiles are cracked and broken, and sections of tile were missing entirely. The toilets were a mess, the showers were dingy and cost $2.00 for 8 minutes. (we did not use them) The worst part of the campground was the sewer system, each sewer hookup has two capped 'Y' connections, you remove one of the caps and attach your sewer hose to one of the 'Y's. Whenever someone upstream from you dumped their tanks, and also when I dumped mine, the sewage pushed up the unused cap and raw sewage overflowed all over the ground, I saw this happen in three other campsites in addition to mine. Never have I experienced such an unsanitary situation. I am amazed the Board of Health has not shut this place down. I would avoid this campground at all cost. It is a shame because this place is only one mile to the Grand Canyon south rim entrance station. I strongly recommend you not stay here, but try to get a site in the Grand Canyon National Park, or at one of the campgrounds closer to Williams AZ. We camped at Grand Canyon Camper Village in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The entrance station to the south rim of Grand Canyon National Park is only one mile from this campground. Needless to say, the Grand Canyon is spectacular and well worth seeing.
