Lake Gogebic State Park, Marenisco, Michigan

Date of Stay: September, 2008 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very nice clean park, the hosts were very friendly and offered coffee and sweet rolls every morning. Sites 1 thru 52 are directly on the lake. The restrooms and showers are modern and clean. The only drawbacks are that the playground area consists of a sliding board and swingset, the nearest grocery store is about 15 miles, and there is not much to do here. This park would work well for a couple days or overnight. We camped at Lake Gogebic State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed here one night on our way home. It looked like this campground is for overnighter's or permenant campers. Stay here only as a last resort. We camped here in a 5th Wheel. We camped at Coloma Camperland Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Fort Wilkins Historic State Park, Copper Harbor, Michigan

Date of Stay: September, 2007 - $23.00
Overall Rating:

We loved this campground. Everything was clean and neat. We stayed in the West Campground, the sites are more secluded and sites 140 thru 160 are on asphalt pads. Copper Harbor is a nice little town, we stayed for a week and found enough to keep us busy. We camped at Fort Wilkins Historic State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Grant Village Campground (NPS Campground), Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming

Date of Stay: September, 2005 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here the first two weeks of September and found that it was not busy, however sites were close together so I imagine that during the busy months it could get a little crowded. There are no hook-ups but a dump station and water fill station are located when you come in, and you can use generators. Yellowstone Lake is right by this campground and you can walk down within 5 minutes, we saw several Elk during the evening hours. We would stay at this campground again during the fall. We camped at Grant Village Campground (NPS Campground) in a Fifth Wheel.

Western Hills Campground, Rawlins, Wyoming

Date of Stay: September, 2005 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

This was the worst campground we have stayed at so far. Nothing more than a gravel parking lot, not one tree and the wind blows non-stop. Wi-fi service works better using Super 8 than the campgrounds. The owner escorted us to our site and then proceeded to direct us how to pull in which resulted in scraping the side of our brand new fifth wheel, when she realized what happened she hopped back in her car and took off. Would not stay here or recommed this campground. We camped at Western Hills Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Ponderosa Campground, Cody, Wyoming

Date of Stay: September, 2005 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here overnight before heading into Yellowstone. Campground is clean but is mostly gravel and is in downtown Cody. Staff is very friendly, sites are pretty close and no campfires allowed. Also plan accordingly as they do not accept credit cards. We camped at Ponderosa Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
