Estes Park Campground at Marys Lake, Estes Park, Colorado

Date of Stay: October, 2011 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice park for the area, reasonably priced with fairly level sites. My daughter in law used the shower one day and said the water was warm for about a minute, then went cold and stayed cold. The bathrooms were very clean. The campground was mostly empty during our stay. Beautiful scenery surrounding the campground. We left in the middle of the night due to high winds on our last day there, but we'd definitely stay there again. We camped at Estes Park Campground at Marys Lake in a Fifth Wheel.

Salina KOA, Salina, Kansas

Date of Stay: October, 2011 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here one night returning from Colorado to Missouri. We called ahead and asked if Salina had a Wal-Mart to buy a cable cord since we'd forgotten to bring ours. The friendly lady on the phone offered to loan us one for the evening. When we got there, we were escorted to our site by a very nice gentleman. We were unable to get the TV reception to watch the Cardinals play later that evening. Called the front desk and a couple of minutes later, the friendly lady and the maintenance man both showed up and fixed the problem. Very nice pull through sites. It also had a nice looking pond that I wish we would have had a chance to fish in, but it was too windy. We've stayed in a lot of RV parks, but this one was the best due to the level of friendliness and helpfulness we encountered. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Salina KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Moraine Campground (NPS Campground), Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado

Date of Stay: September, 2009 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

This is our second year staying at Moraine Park campground, and we love it. No amenities, but the nice large sites and a real camping experience is a wonderful change from the typical RV park. We arrived the day after Labor Day with no reservation and were given site B224, a 40-foot back-in site. We were close to the entrance: made it easy to leave and go watch the elk down in the meadow, which was our main reason for staying in the park. We also had mule deer right across from our campsite. We would stay here again and plan to do so next year! We camped at Moraine Campground (NPS Campground) in a Fifth Wheel.

Fort Welikit Family Campground, Custer, South Dakota

Date of Stay: August, 2009 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

This is a lovely RV park that feels more like a state park setting. Lots of trees to provide shade and the facilities are spotless. Checkin was handled by a very nice and helpful lady. We hadn't been to our campsite 10 minutes before we noticed a bunch of turkeys walking through the campsite next to us. The Wi-Fi works very well and the cable TV has a large selection of channels. We would definitely return. We camped at Fort Welikit Family Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Rafter J Bar Ranch Camping Resort, Hill City, South Dakota

Date of Stay: August, 2009 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

This a nice, beautiful park with very clean facilities. The staff was not overly helpful or friendly. I asked for a nice shady spot and cable TV, and was put next to the large open meadow with no shade whatsoever. We should have asked to be moved, but chose to stay anyway. We camped at Rafter J Bar Ranch Camping Resort in a Motorhome.
