Rest-a-While RV Park, Hoodsport, Washington

Date of Stay: August, 2012 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

The Rest-A-While should be put to rest. It is a big time "has been" place. Website looked good with waterfront sites, fresh fish market, marina, drive-in food, private clam and oyster beach, etc. When we arrived, we found that everything except the park's sites were closed up. Even the beach was posted as not safe because of some parasite infestation. They took a $20 deposit on even a fire pit, then didn't open the office until 10 am, which is after most rigs have left, thus, leaving the $20 for them. They charged our daughter and husband $7.00 per day per kid (they have 4), so that left a poor taste right there. Our sites were very old, but were overlooking the beautiful Hood Canal, which we did enjoy. All around, though, we won't return. This place is really an old relic that is all but dead. We camped at Rest-a-While RV Park in a Motorhome.

Seven Feathers RV Park, Canyonville, Oregon

Date of Stay: May, 2011 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

It doesn't get much better than this for a park. Beautiful, serene, clean, efficient. A solid 10 from me. Very well kept park with friendly staff and escort to your site. Concrete slabs with picnic table and lots of grass. Easy place to maneuver big rigs. We stay here a few times each year and it just gets better and better. We camped at Seven Feathers RV Park in a Motorhome.

RV Park at Rolling Hills Casino, Corning, California

Date of Stay: May, 2011 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

We always use this little minimal park for an overnighter. All self serve, large sites (not particularly level), gravel pads, no cable TV. It is what it is: a good overnight park with shuttle to casino for entertainment and food. Clean place. We camped at RV Park at Rolling Hills Casino in a Motorhome.

Moss Landing KOA Express, Moss Landing, California

Date of Stay: May, 2011 - $68.00
Overall Rating:

I hate to even review this park because I want it kept a secret. Wonderful little park which is convenient to everywhere on the Monterey Bay. Great staff. Small to maneuver in, and has concrete slabs with minimal landscaping. Perfect for what we were doing in the area, though. I will return. We camped at Moss Landing KOA Express in a Motorhome.

Very nice park close to Solvang, CA. Lots of room to maneuver my big rig, friendly staff. They provided a BBQ and a wood burning fireplace for us. Wish we could have stayed another day. We camped at Flying Flags RV Resort & Campground in a Motorhome.

Anaheim RV Village, Anaheim, California

Date of Stay: May, 2011 - $77.00
Overall Rating:

Easy park to find and get into. Lots of room to maneuver my big rig. The sites are just fine for 45 footers in the row they escort you to. Very close to Disneyland, but they use a shuttle service that only runs a couple of times a day (at least that time of year). I just bought a parking pass at Disneyland and had freedom of travel anytime. Good fireworks show from your rigs. Clean place. I'll likely return again next year. No cable TV, no big deal because we were in Disneyland all day and most of the evenings. We camped at Anaheim RV Village in a Motorhome.

StoneRidge Golf and Recreational Community, Blanchard, Idaho

Beautiful resort nestled in a valley in the boondocks. It was great, but was just too remote for my liking, although, I would stay there again if in the area. We camped at StoneRidge Golf and Recreational Community in a Motorhome.

Dusty dirt and gravel road into and throughout the park. Mosquitoes! Will likely find another place next time through. Staff was helpful and our sites were coned off, waiting for us. We camped at Umatilla Marina and RV Park in a Motorhome.

Bakersfield RV Resort, Bakersfield, California

Date of Stay: April, 2010 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Nice park that we always use when passing through town. Has a good restaurant, friendly staff. I always mark it down for the dirty decomposed granite around the sites. It gets tracked into the moho and into the tow car. I like this place, but if a cleaner alternative presents itself, I'll use that in the future. We camped at Bakersfield RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Turtle Rock RV Resort, Gold Beach, Oregon

Date of Stay: August, 2008 - $32.00

Does anybody remember what an old "fish camp" looks like? Well, this is it! A run-down old park that is converting to park models. I'll skip it next time through that area. We camped at Turtle Rock RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Nice setting, but older type park. Kind of tight for maneuvering big rigs (not horrible). Restaurant was average bar fare - not great. Golf is the attraction here - if you don't golf, why stay here? We camped at Mallard Creek Golf Course & RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Wahweap RV and Campground, Page, Arizona

Date of Stay: October, 2007 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Outstanding facility for a "Big Rig." We stayed in the newer "D Loop" and it had wide paved roads and huge concrete pads. A wonderful view of the distant bluffs and of the marina area of Lake Powell. This place is super ! We camped at Wahweap RV and Campground in a Motorhome.
