Columbus Woods-N-Waters, Columbus, Indiana

Date of Stay: July, 2014 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Once in a while you find a place that you would definitely return to. Well, we found Woods-N-Waters in June 2014 on our Northbound Trip, and liked it enough to make it a planned stop on our return Southbound trip in July! Owners are what we always hope to find: friendly and caring !! The park is clean and spacious. The pool is sparkling. Bathrooms are among the best we've seen in many years. WiFi worked quite well. We'll look forward to our next visit. We camped at Columbus Woods-N-Waters in a Motorhome.

Elkhart Campground, Elkhart, Indiana

Date of Stay: July, 2014 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

In 60 years of camping, I've never had to ring a doorbell at 3:30 in the afternoon to get into the Office. A few minutes later a lady stuck her head out of the 2nd floor window and said, "What do you want?" When we responded that we would like a campsite, she said she'd be right down. Five minutes later she unlocked the door (we were just about ready to leave). This is not a good start! Overall the campground is clean, though grass was far from being mowed. Their website & Good Sam listing claims Mini Golf, Horseshoes, Basketball & Tennis Courts. Once upon a time there may have been Mini Golf. Today there are indentations in the ground. The Courts are overgrown with weeds. No nets. Horseshoe court is overgrown as well. Banquet Halls and other halls may exist in locked building, but sure isn't what they make it sound like. Bathrooms were new, but as other reviews said, showers were not friendly to use: no place to hang things, nowhere to sit, nothing to stand on to keep out of the water. Only 2 sinks in bathrooms. It appeared the owners' families were primary users of the playground and pool. Yes, there were a 'few' picnic tables - not enough to service every site. WiFi was marginal at best. This might have been a nice place years ago, but it has fallen into less than ideal conditions. Its ratings do not reflect these current conditions. We camped at Elkhart Campground in a Motorhome.

Mackinaw Mill Creek Camping, Mackinaw City, Michigan

Date of Stay: June, 2014 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

The good news is that Mackinaw Mill Creek Camping is a spacious campground. They boast 600 sites. The bad news is that they have enough restrooms (that are open at any one time) for about 50 sites! There was always a waiting line in both men's and women's bathrooms. Yes, this is mosquito country, but there was always a coating of dead mosquitoes on everything in the bathrooms that you really didn't want to use the toilets or sinks. The restrooms are centrally located, which makes for quite a hike if you're not camped nearby. Again, they are "always" crowded. The camp store is quite nice, and the staff quite friendly. GoodSam needs to re-inspect the bathroom situation while campers are there. Definitely "Not" a 9.5. We camped at Mackinaw Mill Creek Camping in a Motorhome.

Lakeview RV Park, Bluff City, Tennessee

Date of Stay: August, 2007 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Cleanest campground we've stayed at in a long time. The staff is right on top of anyone's needs. Speaking of the staff, they are the friendliest group that we've ever run into. The sites are extra-wide to allow real space, not just breathing-space, between slide-outs. And, they are offset to allow a view instead of directly facing another RV! This is one place you want to visit. We will be back! Thank you!! We camped at Lakeview RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Area's Finest Country View Campground, Ogallala, Nebraska

This Park has great pull-thru access for any size rig. A real plus! Management was great, restrooms were top-notch. Great access to the Interstate, yet far enough away to be removed from the usual noise. Will stay there again. We camped at Area's Finest Country View Campground in a Travel Trailer.
