This is a lovely part of New York. Yes, there are lots of bugs, but they're tiny and don't bite. The only real negative for us was the WiFi. It was expensive and "skipped" constantly so that you couldn't stay online longer than a few moments. There's no way there should have been a charge for it. There was a smell of rotting seaweed as we drove in, but that's only at the very entrance and nowhere else in the park that we could tell. Unlike some of the other reviewers, we liked the old buildings. It gave the place a sense of history and prompted us to research the history of the island. The sunsets were wonderful, the people are friendly and we will definitely go back.

The place is beautiful and we've never come across such friendly and accommodating park managers. The washrooms and clubhouse are extremely clean. Everything is nearby including the beach (15 minutes), shopping, I-95 and the Florida Turnpike. We've already booked for next year.
