Shenandoah Valley Campground, Verona, Virginia

Date of Stay: August, 2012 - $46.00
Overall Rating:

Older campground but very clean facilities and very nice staff. Only stayed one night enroute from Tennessee. Kids enjoyed the pool. Wooded area with waterfall was very pretty. Our pull through site was very uneven and required many lynx to get level. Could also use more stone on the site as I imagine it would have been very muddy during a rain. Hand dipped ice cream for our dessert, and we all enjoyed that. We camped at Shenandoah Valley Campground in a Motorhome.

Holiday Travel Park of Chattanooga, Rossville, Georgia

Date of Stay: August, 2012 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Nice park. Stayed here for 3 nights while visiting the Chattanooga area with 4 teenagers. Very clean baths and showers. Convenient to the interstate and local attractions. Only negative was that the sites are close together with only a thin band of grass between sites. We camped at Holiday Travel Park of Chattanooga in a Motorhome.

We loved this park. We camped here with 4 teenagers for access to the Pigeon Forge area. All level concrete pads. Great pool even though shallow. Showers and bathrooms were great, like a nice hotel. Shuttles all over the area. We camped at Pine Mountain RV Park in a Motorhome.

Shady Knoll, Brewster, Massachusetts

Date of Stay: August, 2008 - $57.00
Overall Rating:

What a terrific campground. We wanted something close to the rail trail for biking and this was perfect. The office staff was wonderful. The grounds were immaculate. We had a pull through site which worked well for us but some of the sites were quite tight. Very convenient to most of the cape. We camped at Shady Knoll in a Motorhome.

The Ammonoosuc Campground, Twin Mountain, New Hampshire

Date of Stay: July, 2008 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Clean but tight campground. Bathrooms and showers clean but there was a seasonal tent resident who treated the bathroom as her own, ie: coffee maker, toiletries, clothes hanging to dry. Our GPS gave us the wrong guidance and we called numerous times during the day for directions but there was no answer. The owner told us she was probably out cleaning bathrooms. We camped at The Ammonoosuc Campground in a Motorhome.

Mt. Desert Narrows Camping Resort, Bar Harbor, Maine

Date of Stay: July, 2008 - $67.00
Overall Rating:

The campground was very convenient to Acadia National Park. The sites were tight. The staff was very friendly. The truly ocean view sites are the first row along the marshes, none of which have hook ups. I called very early to book so our site was the closest one to the water with hook ups. We could not see the water. There was usually a waiting line for showers. My kids tried the pool once but it was packed. We camped at Mt. Desert Narrows Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

Chewonki Campground, Wiscasset, Maine

Date of Stay: July, 2008 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this very clean campground. The owners are wonderful. We had a very large pull in site for our 32 ft. motorhome. We had beautiful salt marshes in front of our campsite, and a sky full of stars at night. The showers and bath houses were beyond clean. A newspaper was hand delivered to our site every morning. This campground was allowed us to explore the Wiscasset/Boothbay area easily. The kids loved the pool which was also kept very clean. The camp store was very small and light on grocery items. We camped at Chewonki Campground in a Motorhome.

Pinewood Lodge Campground, Plymouth, Massachusetts

Date of Stay: July, 2008 - $79.00
Overall Rating:

We thoroughly enjoyed our 4 night stay at Pinewood Lodge. We used it as a base for visiting Plymouth, Boston, and Cape Cod. Our site was wooded, very easy to get into, and private. The bathrooms were very clean and the showers were wonderful. The lake is beautiful and a few in our party rented a small boat and fished for an evening. We did not take advantage of the snack bar or lounge. The store has very few grocery items. Our nightly rate reflects the addition of 2 extra adults. We camped at Pinewood Lodge Campground in a Motorhome.
