Bar Harbor / Oceanside KOA, Bar Harbor, Maine

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $85.00
Overall Rating:

Friendly staff. Beautiful waterfront views if your site is on the waterfront. If not, you are in an overcrowded very tight campsite/no shade. Very little space b/n sites. We didn't have room to put up our usual canopy and our view was a closeup of the back of our neighbors RV and sewer pipes. We are used to more private/shaded sites so this was a challenge for us. But, looking beyond that we had hours of fun finding shells and creatures in the tide pools and the man cooking lobster right there at night was awesome and his prices were reasonable. The area of Bar Harbor and Acadia park is beautiful and super pet friendly! We would like to return but would make sure we had a waterfront site for the space and views! We camped at Bar Harbor / Oceanside KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

*Best advice is to make sure you have an ocean view site, they still looked a little tight in some areas, but you are not "on top" of one another. The views are incredible as well!

Normandy Farms, Foxboro, Massachusetts

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $85.00
Overall Rating:

Sites were very close and on top of each other. No privacy at all and our site didn't even have any grass, plant, or tree. Amenities were great, but we stayed over a holiday weekend in September. Saturday - Tuesday and most amenities, activities and the snack bar were all shut down Sunday at 2. Also, they do rent out their facilities for private events. We had no activities other than the pools available to us on Sunday afternoon and they booked the indoor pool privately! Temp was in the 60s and drizzling so my kids couldn't swim until after 5. We camped at Normandy Farms in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

If you're there like us and there when nothing's open and weather isn't the best, take a hike in the local state forest park. We hiked for 3 hours and the trails were safe and beautiful!

Bayley's Camping Resort, Scarborough, Maine

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $75.00
Overall Rating:

The park's location is great! They have two free trolley's that would take you to two beaches. The park has an old section and a new section. The new section was great! We stayed in the older section and it was OK. Sites are smaller there, bathrooms need updating. Amenities were great! So much to do and they have a great little restaurant offering snacks to fish adn burgers. We would definitely return, but would request the new side of the park. We camped at Bayley's Camping Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Definitely catch the fireworks on the beach! Take a ride up to the Lobster House for lunch, some rock climbing and views of the closest lighthouse! Canoe/kayak in the marshes too!! If you travel w/ a dog, there is a nearby doggy day care center that was reasonable and great to work with. Let us take a family day to the beach!

Yogi Bear's Jellystone Camp-Resort at Crystal Lake, Cooperstown, New York

Date of Stay: September, 2012 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Friendly staff, but not the "Jellystone" camping we are used to. We stayed over a holiday weekend and there were no activities for the kids. We like to camp in Sept and Oct and at each Jellystone campground we've stayed at they always have activities throughout the weekend. Sites had no privacy, they were one on top of the other. We're used to have a semi-private location with some trees in between each site. The grounds were really pretty and the fall is a great time to visit. Another thing is that they call the park - Jellystone Campground - Cooperstown, but they are really 1/2 hour away. To me that's a little misleading. We had to travel a 1/2 hour to and from Cooperstown each day. We were under the impression that they were located right outside and perhaps a 10 minute ride at most. Price was very low, but perhaps because there were no activities going on. We camped at Yogi Bear's Jellystone Camp-Resort at Crystal Lake in a Travel Trailer.

Jellystone Park of Western New York, North Java, New York

Date of Stay: August, 2012 - $75.00
Overall Rating:

Loved it here! Friendly staff and well co-ordinated activities throughout our stay!! The water park was a hit with our kids too!! Hey Hey ride was a daily event for us! Our only negative comment is that it's a long drive for us!! We wish it wasn't such a long drive.. Next time we'll just have to stay a bit longer. We camped at Jellystone Park of Western New York in a Travel Trailer.
