Road work on US90 made this park difficult to access for a couple of years; work is complete and there is a new entrance to the RV park. Grounds are neat and clean. Utilities have been upgraded; interior road is now paved. Easy access from I-10. A Publix in the next block makes for a handy grocery stop.

Helpful staff, gated, paved interior roads. Sites all have cement patios. During winter season some sites will be tight. Central location; 30 miles to Disney; 60 miles to Tampa - goood roads in all directions. Walmart next door. Rates are better than most. Our rate reflects monthly stay.

Date of Stay:

Good paved interior roads. Large spaces, full hook ups available with sewer. Sites are gravel/sand. Quiet. No shade. Pretty typical state park campground. Can't beat the Florida Resident Senior discount rate. About 6 miles back to Clermont for shopping or dining or about 12 to Disney area. Gate closes at dark so times vary. There is a coded keypad for entry.

Its not on the way to anywhere...but, the upland sites are good size, full hook up, 50 amp and sewer. Roads are paved with rock pads. Very quiet. Not a lot of shade. Over air TV signals were strong, SAT was easy to hit and air card signal was good. There's a Winn Dixie and a few eating places in Franklinton. If you want to spend a few days, drive north on state road 25. There is a river and tubing. Low land camp area has smaller sites, but is on the water. Not a well marked turn off from 25 and the GPS may not have it. Watch close for the brown park sign followed quickly by a sharp turn to the right off the main road.

We looked at this campground a few years ago and passed on staying. Since it became a KOA it has improved and the owners have done a lot of clean up and upgrading. Utilities worked well. Lots are a decent size; although, the back in sites closest to US441 are tighter and have more road noise. Easy access from 441. Grocery and shopping within 3 miles.

The good news is that interior roads have been paved. The biggest complaint before was the washed out crushed limestone and coral road which also produced a lot of dust. The owner has made other improvements. They did add more speed bumps. The overnight sites can still be hard to get out of and are muddy when it rains. Easy access off I-75 and close to Gainesville make it a good overnight stop.

We had a pull through in the front. Long site, mostly level. Good utilities, no Wi-Fi signal but our Aircard worked. SAT was in the clear. Sites and roads are gravel and drained well. Quiet campground, but... the pull throughs alternate so your door faces your neighbor's door, my least favorite site arrangement, especially when the neighbor's have barking dogs and whining kids. Back-ins are more private. We're full time and stayed here for three weeks on business; total bill nearly $1500 with the KOA discount... that's more than the best RV RESORT in Naples, FL at peak winter rates. My irritation with the cost was no doubt influenced with the fact they were going to charge me for early check-in... 10 minutes. The grounds are kept up and the owners involved. Pool is nice and there are three laundry's. Check the routes in... one has a 12' clearance, one has a couple of tight turns. We came in off US30 up the River Road all the way to Turnpike RD. There's a lot of industry along the river with 18 wheelers so the river road is good. At Turnpike the road narrows and is hilly. Don't blindly follow your GPS.

Easy access once off I-95. Sites and interior roads are gravel, sites are generally level. We had a corner site which gave us extra room, some sites are close together. Utilities worked well although water hookup required two hoses to reach. Good cable and SAT reception. Two nice pools and rec area. Large laundry, well stocked RV parts store and a cafe. Office staff was helpful and well organized with plenty of local info. Metro station is about 4 miles away. A very good grocery is less than 1 mile. Expensive, but a good resort type campground this close to Washington is worth it.

This is a good weekend family campground. Sites are large and shaded. Many seasonal/permanent set up for weekend use. From the main road in: it's all sand. No cable and over the air TV is marginal. Neither my roof top SAT antenna or a portable VuCube could find a signal through the trees. WiFi is Tengo/you pay. Our air card had an average signal. Heavy rain one day turned the road to a river and our site to a lake, but it drained well and the owners leveled out the wash out areas. It's 30 minutes to LBI and about the same to Atlantic City. There are a couple of tight spots for big rigs and some low branches coming in. We're full time and in the area on business so would prefer less of the "camping out" feel; but if you're a family looking for a weekend camping spot it's not bad.

We were her in 2009. At that time there were some rough looking monthly units in the front, which have moved on. Overall the campground is clean with some shade and all level sites. Some over look the pond. Easy on and off from I-295. Utilities worked good. Shopping is 5-7 miles away and it's about 12 miles from Philadelphia. It is not geared to "family" weekend camping. There are no planned kid activities; so, it's peaceful and quiet. Rate reflects weekly but does not include electric. That is metered for weekly as well as monthly.

This is a tale of two campgrounds; the first has nice sites right on the water - the 2nd tight sites surrounded by monthly campers. Be sure to get the water sites, which are mostly open during the week. On weekends and holidays they are full. Go slow on the narrowing roads in and if you have high clearance watch your top. We've stay here before and it's our favorite stop in the area, because of the view. Take the time to watch the ospreys fish, and eagles can be spotted everyday if you sit and wait. The owner and staff are friendly and helpful. Beware of power issues, my volt meter had wide swings from high to low. Shopping and dining are 10 miles away in Bel Air. Overall a good place to spend a few days.

Rate is weekly. Very easy in and out from I-95. Large pull through level sites. Utilities good; however, no cable and the WiFi doesn't work. Over air antenna picked up several local stations. Air card signal is average. Depending on site, trees may block satellite signal. My roof top was blocked, so I put out the Vu Cube and found a hole through the trees. We had a few days of off and on rain which made a splash up mess on the bottom of the coach, but grounds drained well. Shopping, grocery, and eating nearby and it's 30 minutes to Raleigh. Road noise isn't terrible. Very good for an overnight stop. Fuel prices are 10 to 20 cents lower away from I-95 exits.

Date of Stay:

Stayed here before when it was a KOA. It's easy on and off the I-95,Flying J at the exit. Facilities and cable are good. Sites mostly level. The new owners are keeping it up - makes a good overnight stop.

Date of Stay:

The only negative is sandy spots, so when it rains expect a mess on the lower part of the RV. After that, it's all good. Easy access, nice office/store open until 9pm nightly. Utilities all worked, spots were level, interior roads paved. Good fuel prices at the exit. Richmond Hill is a nice small town location with everything needed; makes a good base for visiting the Savannah area. They have a high pressure RV/Car wash as you drive in to the right of the propane. Real handy if you picked up bugs . . . especially nice during "love bug" season.

Date of Stay:

April the park is empty, which gave us a very nice spot, shady with a river view. All facilities worked and are maintained. Built before big rigs with slides... so many spaces would be really tight during the winter season. A good location on Hwy 1, easy access from I95 with full range of shopping within 6 miles in any direction. They're putting in a pool and there have been other recent improvements. We'll use this one again.
