Pecan Park Riverside RV , San Marcos, Texas

Date of Stay: March, 2008 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

We were a little worried because of posts about a year ago talking about a really wild tent area. No need. They no longer allow tents, and have truly made this a family park. We stayed 2 nights and it was quiet, small kids riding their bikes. Indoor heated pool. They were very strict on cars coming in and out and every car had to have a parking pass. I appreciated this, some might not like it, but they are trying to maintain the family aspect and did a great job of that. You can walk down to the river to wade/swim. Canoe/Kayak rentals are on site. We will definitely be back. Geat park with lots and lots of shade. We camped at Pecan Park Riverside RV in a Motorhome.

Adventure Bound Camping Resort , Tucson, Arizona

Date of Stay: January, 2008 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Beautiful park just a few minutes outside Tucson. It is very quiet even though it can be seen from I-10. This is more like a neighborhood. Just a big family park, ashpalt drives. Very friendly. We camped at Adventure Bound Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

Las Cruces KOA, Las Cruces, New Mexico

Date of Stay: January, 2008 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Very impressed from the moment we pulled in. Up on a hill overlooking Las Cruces. Incredible view. Escorted to our site by a very friendly staff member. Cement sites. Most of the grounds is a white rock (not dusty) which they "graded" every morning so it had that always kept appearance. Stayed here on the way out of Texas and again on the way back. Highly recommended. We camped at Las Cruces KOA in a Motorhome.

Poppy's Pointe Resort, Buchanan Dam, Texas

Date of Stay: October, 2007 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

To be fair, we didn't even get out of our Class C. We were so disappointed just driving through. The pictures on the website were so misleading. Looked more like a mobile home park that was way past its prime. Pool torn up, overgrown, just a mess. We literally just turned around and left without ever getting out. Lost our $35 but we still think it was a good decision to leave. Went to Canyon of Eagles, just down the road and it was great. We camped at Poppy's Pointe Resort in a Motorhome.

South Padre Island KOA, South Padre Island, Texas

Date of Stay: January, 2007 - $65.00
Overall Rating:

Expensive but really nice. Staff was super friendly, sites are gravel but very well kept. Picked up our trash at our door each morning. Great location. We drove around the corner to state park and parked almost right on the beach. A lot of winter Texans here. We are younger and only stayed 3 nights but they made us feel right at home. We camped at South Padre Island KOA in a Motorhome.
