What a fantastic park. We loved the views and wildlife. As you enter the park there were prairie dogs in abundance with their young running around everywhere along the sides of the road. We saw deer, wild turkey (mom, dad, and six babies) Beautiful areas for picnics, along with many hiking trails. If you are an early riser you can hear Reveille in the morning from Fort Carson, and then you hear Taps at night - what a treat. The Park Rangers and park employees were cheerful and very helpful. We would definitely recommend this park and would love to stay here again in our travels. Three day in advance reservations are required for a reserved space; however, we just showed up and lucked out on an empty spot that is on a first come basis. Also, we had a space big enough for our 43' Rv, with a tow.

Interesting park and good stop for Passport America members. The pass is good for 1 night only. Park is clean but could use some attention to the interior roads and sites. The sites are VERY close together, e.g. looking directly into your neighbor's window and could not put out awning to sit outside, no room. There are picnic tables in a park like area, with some small shade trees. It appears that the RV Park itself holds a back seat to the real money making aspects of the ranch, which is okay. However this could really be a spectacular park you would tell your friends to put on their itineray if passing this way, especially if they had chilrdren.

We called for a reservation and inquired as to the price of a pull-through versus a back-in. A gentleman quoted $50 for pull-through and $45 for the back in. We usually do not stay at KOA because we feel they are overpriced, hence, the reason for asking. We had friends coming into the same campground and wanted to connect with them for the evening. Upon arriving we were put into a narrow pull-through with barely enough room for our tow, and our neighbor's sewer connection was 2 1/2 to 3 feet from our steps. You have a choice of two sewer connections and the next day our new neighbor hooked-up 6 inches from our picnic table as we were playing cards. Our friends we were meeting up with were on a long, wide pull-through lot. The park itself was clean with the exception of hundreds of cotton fuzz balls falling from the cottonwood trees. As we were leaving a large dog was running loose, and we nearly hit the dog. To sum up our experience, we were charged $63 a night, the same as our friends, except their site was twice as nice as the one we were on. Another typical KOA.

In the directions on website from I-15, the Exit number of 278 is not listed as Exit 278 but as 10th Ave.S. The office was advised that they might be easier to locate by listing the actual exit number in their website directions. Access into the park itself is easy as you only have to follow the blue camping signs. The front office personnel were very friendly and nice. Out site was very level and away from office so we did not have access to WiFi but our Verizon Card worked well. The cable TV was good with a lot of channels. The reason we rate this park a 7 is because of all of the permanent trailers: some of them are quite unattractive. You are close to major roads but we were not disturbed by this. This is a good overnight stop and we would stay they again.

This is a nice park; however, for big rigs it is tight. The sites and roads are narrow with tree and foliage overgrowth making matters worse. If the trees were trimmed it would be a needed improvement. Big rigs need to stay off of Row A. The staff is friendly. We would check out other campgrounds if we returned.

Park was clean, office staff friendly and helpful. We had a pull-through site that was about 90 ft. It was nice to have so much room. We had a level, gravel site with lots of grass and picnic table. Beach was very nice and had sun or shade. We would definitely stay here again eventhough it was pricey.

Clean campground with very helpful and friendly front office staff. There was some noise from the interstate but not enough to be unbearable. Close to all attractions which are very entertaining and interesting. We would stay here again. Wi-Fi was excellent, cable good but an extra $2 per day.

We found this campground in the Philipsburg Paper of "things to do in Philipsburg". The small paper was part of the visitor information in the Montana Welcome Center. This is a very small, no frills campground and Inn/Motel. We found it quite adequate for our 2 day stay in the area. Not sure but do not think there are but a few 50 amp sites. You would have to call for a reservation is you wanted 50amp. Many campers were turned away because of the limited space. We were concerned about 2 large dogs penned because they were barking when we arrived; however there was no excessive barking during the day and none at night. We would stay here again.

This was a nice park with an activity room with pool table, games, etc. There was a nice playground for kids and some teepees that campers could rent. The park was clean and the staff friendly. Our lot was not very level. After releasing air, we still had to have a stool at the steps. Also, be sure to have a long water hose as the water is in the front of the site with the electric and sewer connections in the rear of the site. We were in a back-in site in 43 footer, but had plenty of room. We would stay here again if in the area.

Great park for overnight stay at $20. Thought it could use some trash pickup around fence area as there was a good amount of trash trapped against fence that took away from the cleanliness of the rest of the park. The pull-through sites come up a little short for 43 foot and over rigs, especially with tow vehicle. You have to register in the casino, walking a good distance through thick second-hand smoke, which was disgusting since we are non-smokers. We would have rated this park an 8 if the registration had not been so brutal trying to breath.

This was an immaculate park. Our site was great with a concrete pad to park your tow vehicle. We were not bothered by any noise or odors as was a previous reviewer. The staff was very friendly and helpful. My only negative comment would be that the nearby refinery spoiled the beautiful mountain views. We would definitely recommend this park and stay here again.

As previous reviewer stated, this is definitely a no frills park; however, I would stay here again if in the area. The staff is helpful and friendly and the sites were good gravel sites. We had a pull-through for 43' motorhome with tow and had plenty of room. The scenery is nice with surrounding mountains. Can't speak for the restroom and showers as did not use. Could connect to WiFi but was slow at times. Cable TV was doable and our satellite picked up with no problems.

Campground was convenient to tourist sites. The restrooms are old but clean. Our lot was big with a shade tree; however very hard to get level even in large motorhome. Staff was friendly and pleasant. Full hookup was not available but electric and water was good. Upon leaving, we found the dump station locked and had to get key from office for a $4.00 dump fee. We would stay here again if we were in the area.

Park itself is clean. The laundry room is too small for the amount of lots, with no ventilation. The pool was also much too small and shared with the motel guests. The only plus is being close to train for a ride to the canyon. Do not know if this is normal, but there were at least 200 bikers in town with some in the park who were very inconsiderate with noise and speeding through the park. The noise from the bikers, plus being 200 yards from an operating train track was not pleasant. Each night the winds were so strong it kept us awake. The winds might be related to being somewhat in a valley. We would not stay here again.

Great Park. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Everything was immaculate and we heard no annoying noises from I-40 or the local airport. We would rate this a 10 if there had been some shade and just another couple of feet of space between pull-thrus; however we were in a 43 foot motorhome and towing. Enjoyed the City of Gallup and the nightly Indian singers and dancers that performed in a beautiful courtyard located at the Courthouse. Really loved the local trading companies, especially Richardson Trading Company in downtown Gallup. We would definitely recommend this park and this city.
