Hitchin Post Corral and Campground, Cottondale, Florida

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

I'm not inclined to give any campground a 10 but if the ratings went up to 15 then I would have given this one a 15. No, it's not a fancy campground. The sites are long level and packed gravel and easy to get in and out. It's just off of I-10 and is a good overnight stop but there is some road noise. The best part of this campground are the owners. These are the friendliest, hardest working most helpful people I may have ever met. They have only owned this campground for a couple of years but literally every day they are working to make improvements. These are the kind of people that we need to be running campgrounds and we will certainly return and stay with them. We camped at Hitchin Post Corral and Campground in a Motorhome.

Cedar Key RV Resort, Cedar Key, Florida

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

If you do not have a surge protector, stay away from this park. This is a very nice park, level concrete pads, easy in and out but it has serious high voltage issues. We stayed here about 10 months ago. Our surge protector shut us down several times due to high voltage. I had a mobile tech come out and he changed my 50 amp head and said that was the issue. We left the next day and everything seemed fine. A few months later I had the 50 amp power cord replaced just to be safe. Everything was fine for several months. We just went back to Cedar Key and had exactly the same problem. Voltage in two different sites was over 132V. The manager told me that they had never had a problem. I called two mobile techs and they both laughed and said that park has serious electrical issues. Fair warning! Don't visit unless you have a good surge protector. We camped at Cedar Key RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Riverside RV Resort & Campground, Arcadia, Florida

Date of Stay: February, 2017 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice park, friendly people and staff is helpful. Even though they have an Arcadia address, they are much closer to Port Charlotte and Punta Gorda. Also very convenient to shopping and restaurants. The sites are all level, concrete pads and the majority are back in but they do have a few pull in sites. Lots of activities in the park. For a park this size the wifi is poor. They use Tengo which is expensive and you don't get a lot for your money. They are pet friendly and have a couple of nice dog parks but they only allow short leases for walking the dogs. Overall, nice park and nice area so we will definitely return. We camped at Riverside RV Resort & Campground in a Motorhome.

Crossing Creeks RV Resort (formerly Mountain View RV Resort), Blairsville, Georgia

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very nice upscale park in a beautiful area. The sites are spacious and paved and the office people are very friendly.
There is a lot to do in the area and plenty of restaurants, grocery stores and a Walmart just a few minutes away.
The only negative is that to access their cable TV you have to be able to plug a box into your TV. That is very difficult for most motorhomes as the TV's are built in.
Overall, excellent experience and we will definitely return. We camped at Crossing Creeks RV Resort (formerly Mountain View RV Resort) in a Motorhome.

The Ingles grocery is possibly the largest grocery store I've ever been in. Blue Ridge is about a half hour away and is a nice day trip.

Cecil Bay RV Park, Cecil, Georgia

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

This is a fancy park but it is a great park for an overnight stop. Easy on and off of I-75, long level grass/gravel sites. Cable TV and good Wi-fi and very friendly and helpful owners. We will definitely stop here again. We camped at Cecil Bay RV Park in a Motorhome.

Cedar Key RV Resort, Cedar Key, Florida

Date of Stay: January, 2016 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice park with a great staff. Very friendly and helpful. The sites are large with fairly level concrete pads.
We stayed here a year ago and they have made a lot of improvements since then. Wifi and cable worked fine. Very pet friendly but they could use more trash baskets for pet waste.
We will definitely return. One of our favorite spots to just kick back and relax. We camped at Cedar Key RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Pavilion RV Park, West Monroe, Louisiana

Date of Stay: April, 2015 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

This place gets worse every time we stop and it wasn't very good to start with. We had a pull through and the electric box was sitting at a 45 degree angle and there was no cover on it. I thought maybe it had just happened but then I saw 2 others nearby that were missing covers. I put a trash bag over it to protect the plug from the rain.

Then I noticed the power on one leg was very low. Called the

office and they said someone would check it --- no one ever came out. Finally, connected the cable but couldn't get anything so called the office. They said they had dropped cable because it was too expensive. But they sure didn't lower their prices.

I'm not sure the other parks in the area are any better but I won't be back here. We camped at Pavilion RV Park in a Motorhome.

Memphis Jellystone Park, Horn Lake, Mississippi

Date of Stay: April, 2015 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

We have stayed here several times and I am less impressed each time. Lots of seasonals, which is OK, but many of them are looking pretty junky for a park like this. Wi-Fi is horrible and many of the sites are not level. Good location but this may be our last stay here. We camped at Memphis Jellystone Park in a Motorhome.

Avalon Landing RV Park, Milton, Florida

Date of Stay: April, 2015 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Nice park very close to I-10 with easy in and out. Level concrete pads that are adequate size. Very clean and owners are very friendly and helpful. Only concerns were that the Wi-Fi is weak and not a great park for walking the dogs.

We would stop here again. We camped at Avalon Landing RV Park in a Motorhome.

Hardeeville RV, Hardeeville, South Carolina

Date of Stay: November, 2014 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

This is basically a self service park. You fill out a registration, call a number. Someone comes over takes your money (no credit cards) and points you to your site. Then they leave and you don't see anyone else around. No instructions about trash or cable stations or washers and dryers. You are on your own. Park is close to Savannah and sites are easy to get in and out but the experience would be much better if the owners would be more involved. We camped at Hardeeville RV in a Motorhome.

Coastal Georgia RV Resort, Brunswick, Georgia

Date of Stay: August, 2014 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

This is a nice stopover CG if you don't have a big rig but it is certainly not built for longer RV's. The sites are extremely narrow and for big rigs they are impossible to pull into or out of with a tow attached without running over the grass. Additionally the interior roads are very tight and when you are leaving the CG with a big rig it is best to turn into the entrance road or you risk jumping a curb with your tow. The other bad feature especially if you are just overnighting is that connecting to their wifi is extremely difficult. I have never seen this before but to connect a laptop and an iphone require two entirely different operations and both are complicated. Just way to much to deal with for an overnight stop. Again, if you don't have a big rig and are a computer geek then this is a nice place to stop but not a good spot for larger RV's. We camped at Coastal Georgia RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Mountain Falls Luxury Motorcoach Resort (Class As Only), Lake Toxaway, North Carolina

Date of Stay: August, 2014 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

Beautiful resort with nice pull in or back in sites. The sites are all very level concrete pads and many of them have pavers and sitting areas. Very friendly, helpful staff. This resort certainly could be a 10 but the reason for my 8 is that they do not currently have a clubhouse although it is under construction, the golf course needs some work, there is a lot of construction noise during the day and even up to 7:30 at night and the Wifi is horrible. Also the roads coming in are certainly a challenge but it is worth it once you arrive. We camped at Mountain Falls Luxury Motorcoach Resort (Class As Only) in a Motorhome.

Skidaway Island State Park, Savannah, Georgia

Date of Stay: August, 2014 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

Beautiful park with long wide sites that are well spaced. Forget your satellite, there's too many trees, but they have basic cable. You should try to arrive early as they don't reserve specific sites so the earlier you get there the better the selection. Also some of the interior roads have some tight spots around trees so if you have a big rig use caution. Easy access to Savannah. Will definitely return. We camped at Skidaway Island State Park in a Motorhome.

Cedar Key RV Resort, Cedar Key, Florida

Date of Stay: July, 2014 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice campground. The sites are all back in with long very level concrete pads. They are very wide and there is plenty of room on both sides. The cable is pretty basic with only 12 channels but the WiFi is very good. The CG is about a 10 minute drive from downtown Cedar Key. The interior roads are pretty tight for a big rig with a tow. That isn't a problem on entry but on exit there is no place to hook up other that at your site. It's not a big issue but you have to be careful. The owners are very nice and they are currently adding more sites and amenities so this CG is only going to get better. Not much to do in Cedar Key but if we return we would stay here. We camped at Cedar Key RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Pirateland Family Campground, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina

Date of Stay: March, 2014 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This place has seen its better days. Compared to the other campgrounds in the area it is pretty run down. The pull through sites are really close together but are level. The interior roads need a lot of work and, if it rains, they turn into mud. When this campground is empty then there are plenty of places to walk your dogs but, when it is full, the spots would be very limited. We won't return here. We camped at Pirateland Family Campground in a Motorhome.
