Catalina State Park, Tucson, Arizona

Date of Stay: October, 2007 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Exceptional campground, well-maintained and secured. The views are spectacular. This one will be a 'for-sure' on my future trips to Tucson. While you're in the campground, it's peaceful and quiet. If you didn't know differently, you would never know that upon exiting the campground, you'll have access to all of the grocery and drug stores and strip malls you'll need for additional supplies. We camped at Catalina State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Santee Lakes Recreation Preserve, Santee, California

Date of Stay: September, 2007 - $33.00

Beautiful campgrounds, well maintained and serviced. Lots of amenities and pleasant surroundings. Biggest advantage is being so close to San Diego and not having to pay the price for a closer location. Highly recommend! We camped at Santee Lakes Recreation Preserve in a Travel Trailer.

Carlsbad KOA, Carlsbad, New Mexico

Date of Stay: May, 2007 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

Not much in the way of scenery, but the park is located far enough from town to be very quiet and peaceful. Lots of amenities, very well kept, and the owners live on-site. Used the cable and wireless, both without problems. Attracts a nicer crowd of big rigs and RVs. Highly recommend. We camped at Carlsbad KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Dead Horse Ranch State Park, Cottonwood, Arizona

Date of Stay: May, 2007 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

A terrific park with access to small lakes for fishing. The surrounding scenery is spectacular, especially at night when you can see the town of Jerome lit up in the hills. Will definitely plan to stay at this park again when in that part of Arizona, especially since Tuzigoot National Monument and the town of Cottonwood are nearby. Just a short drive to Jerome and Sedona. We camped at Dead Horse Ranch State Park in a Motorhome.
