Beacon RV Park, Saint Joseph, Missouri

Date of Stay: August, 2009 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

This campground is a good location for seeing the sights in St. Joseph, Missouri. It is surprisingly quiet at night; don't let its in-town location scare you away. Friendly staff; many long-term residents in mostly well maintained trailers and motor homes. We highly recommend the Pony Express Museum and the Patee House museum. For pet care we highly recommend Countryside Veterinarians, on Frederick. We camped at Beacon RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Jonesburg Gardens Campground, Jonesburg, Missouri

Date of Stay: August, 2009 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

70 miles west of St. Louis and convenient to Interstate I-70. There's a good bit of interstate noise, and a couple of trains overnight. O.K. for an overnight. Somewhat shabby and overpriced for what it is. We camped at Jonesburg Gardens Campground in a Travel Trailer.

High Falls State Park, Jackson, Georgia

Date of Stay: November, 2007 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

This is probably the prettiest state park I've ever camped at. There are two camping sections, one by the lake and one by the river. We asked for a waterfront site and were told to go to the riverside section and look for a site with a yellow marker. None of the riverside site had much of a view. The next morning, I drove though the lakeside section and saw a couple of empty, nice, lake-front sites with yellow markers. So if you care about the view, breeze through the lakeside section, just in case. We camped at High Falls State Park in a Travel Trailer.

O'Leno State Park, High Springs, Florida

Date of Stay: October, 2007 - $16.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very rustic park. Sites are sand with sand patio. The site assigned to us was pretty difficult to negotiate until our neighbor lent a hand and guided me expertly. Most sites looked like they would have been easier than our site. Next time, I may add a couple of feet to the trailer when I answer the attendant's inquiry! We camped at O'Leno State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Long Point Park Campground (Brevard County Park), Melbourne Beach, Florida

Date of Stay: October, 2007 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Most sites are riverfront and have water and electric only. In regard to the comfort stations, while clean they have the level of corrosion I would expect for facilities having a few years and being near the ocean. The staff was quite friendly and helpful. When we inquired about pet boarding and dog beaches, one of them copied several pages from the yellow pages about the boarding and then called a friend about dog beaches (the closest dog beach is just south of the St. Lucie Nuclear Power Plant on Hutchinson Island just south of Fort Pierce, about 50 miles from the CG). We camped at Long Point Park Campground (Brevard County Park) in a Travel Trailer.

Sanlan RV & Golf Resort, Lakeland, Florida

Date of Stay: October, 2007 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

We spent nine days here and will return. The sites where we were had lots of space and shade. The sites are grassy with a concrete patio. Staff are friendly and helpful. We arrived on a Sunday. Before we got to Sanlan, our truck died (12 miles away, on the interstate!). Chris called around for us and arranged a tow truck. We camped at Sanlan RV & Golf Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Bring earplugs for the road noise - it's not loud, but noticeable and constant. We camped at Fair Harbor RV Park in a Travel Trailer.
