Noccalula Falls Campground, Gadsden, Alabama

Date of Stay: May, 2010 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Was looking forward to camping here based on the reviews. I was not overly impressed. Fortunately, we parked in the middle of the park where no one was so we had space around us but sites are very close together. Ours was very grassy so that was a plus. Not a lot of privacy. No fire rings. Bath house (1) was adequate and clean. I liked that the showers were not in the toilet areas. Pool was not 7-year-old friendly as the water was over her head. We camped at Noccalula Falls Campground in a Tent Trailer.

Oak Mountain State Park, Pelham, Alabama

Date of Stay: November, 2007 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

We camped here overnight since it is near our home. Nice mix of tent and camper sites. Fun petting barn five miles down the road. Some of the camper sites could be roomier but overall a nice place to camp. We camped at Oak Mountain State Park in a Tent Trailer.

Cape San Blas Camping Resort, Port St. Joe, Florida

Date of Stay: November, 2007 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

This campsite has definite pros. Easy beach access, gorgeous beaches and great clean bath houses. Cons: the noseeums, mosquitoes and biting flies were horrific. We thought by waiting to camp here in November would ease that problem. It did not. Camp sites are not set up efficiently. We had to manually swing our camper around in order to not have power cords running across our entire site. We made the mistake of arriving after dark to find that we had the least desirable camp site. We chose another site to set up and the park ranger made us move to another camp site the following day. We knew this might have been a possibility but we were surprised when they actually made us move. At our originally assigned site, our water hookup was forty feet away and we couldn't find it. The only possible way we would camp here again is after a hard freeze, possibly February. We camped at Cape San Blas Camping Resort in a Tent Trailer.

Topsail Hill State Preserve, Santa Rosa Beach, Florida

Date of Stay: March, 2007 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This campground was not one of our favorites. Maybe it was due to the fact that we were parked in the first space in the campground and we saw every car that came into the campground. No fire rings is a drawback. The shuffle boards were fun for the children. I would recommend the camp sites in the back of the campground. Beach access is a long walk or a tram ride every hour. We camped at Topsail Hill State Preserve in a Tent Trailer.

Henderson Beach State Park, Destin, Florida

This is a great campground. Secluded camp sites, great boardwalk to the beach, beautiful beaches, clean bath houses and a Wal Mart right across the road. It doesn't get any better than this! We camped at Henderson Beach State Park in a Tent Trailer.
