Hacienda RV Resort, Las Cruces, New Mexico

Overall Rating:

A top notch RV resort. Sites are separated by a nice landscaped fence. The showers are all individual and very clean. Go on a Friday for the Margarita party! Easy access from the highway with minimal noise from it. I will return. We camped at Hacienda RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Carlsbad RV Park and Campground, Carlsbad, New Mexico

Date of Stay: February, 2008 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for 1 night on the way to Carlsbad Caverns. It was fine for an overnight, but I wouldn't stay here for an extended stay. Sites were VERY close together. We didn't use our picnic table because our long term neighbor had claimed it with his dirty mop. We wouldn't stay here again. We camped at Carlsbad RV Park and Campground in a Motorhome.

San Antonio KOA, San Antonio, Texas

Date of Stay: February, 2008 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for 2 nights. It is a standard KOA, sites are close together, but everything was clean. We took the bus to San Antonio that was right out front of the park. The Riverwalk is a must do when visiting. This park is also very close to the AT&T center. (Spurs/Rodeo) We would stay here again. We camped at San Antonio KOA in a Motorhome.

McKinney Falls State Park, Austin, Texas

Date of Stay: February, 2008 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

We camped here for 4 nights. This park was great. It has miles of hiking trails, a nice waterfall, and tons of nature. We saw a pack of 9 deer when we first drove in. The sites were clean, restrooms mostly clean, and the trails were very clean. Getting to Austin requires a car or a $25 cab ride. We loved the city. We would stay here again. We camped at McKinney Falls State Park in a Motorhome.

All Star RV Resort, Houston, Texas

Date of Stay: February, 2008 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for 2 nights hoping to use it as a base for exploring Houston. The park is nice, a little close to the highway, but not too bad. It is a long drive to get to Houston downtown and not any other options (public transportation) close. The park was an 8, location (for what we were looking for) was a 3. We wouldn't stay here again. We camped at All Star RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Pontchartrain Landing, New Orleans, Louisiana

Date of Stay: February, 2008 - $93.00
Overall Rating:

Nightly rate was for Mardi Gras. We stayed here for 4 nights. They are also expanding about 30 more sites. This is a good park for exploring downtown New Orleans. It is a very safe park despite the drive in to get there. The shuttle is very convenient to the French Quarter. Cab rides if you miss the shuttle should be ~$15 (Be aware during special events. Make sure the cab driver turns on the meter). We would stay here again. We camped at Pontchartrain Landing in a Motorhome.

Southern Comfort Camping Resort, Biloxi, Mississippi

Date of Stay: February, 2008 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for one night. We were planning on spending more time in Biloxi, but decided against it. The campground isn't impressive. The sites are very close, the train is noticeable, and the laundry room wasn't very clean. We would skip this campground next time. We camped at Southern Comfort Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

Henderson Beach State Park, Destin, Florida

Date of Stay: January, 2008 - $23.00
Overall Rating:

We came here right after St Andrews in Panama City. I was impress with both. The sites and beaches are a little bit better in Henderson, but it is closer to the main road and a little further from the beach. Sites are gravel and level. We would stay here again. We camped at Henderson Beach State Park in a Motorhome.

Saint Andrews State Park, Panama City Beach, Florida

We camped here for 3 nights. It is one of the best State Parks we have ever been too. Very clean, excellent location, and great beach. Sites were level, enough spacing between RV's, and utilities worked well. We would stay here again. We camped at Saint Andrews State Park in a Motorhome.

Bill Frederick Park at Turkey Lake, Orlando, Florida

Date of Stay: January, 2008 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

A hidden gem, and a top value. Only $15 E/W and 4 miles to Universal. Only drawback was the fact that the sites were not level. Not a big enough drawback to prevent us from staying there again. We arrived without reservations. Attendant on duty til 5pm. After 5 the gate is locked with a padlock. Would stay here again. We camped at Bill Frederick Park at Turkey Lake in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

We arrived with no reservations. There is an attendant until 8pm. Nice spot on the ocean. Sites were varied, with about half with sewer and half with concrete pads. Was very close to Kennedy Space Center and Port Canaveral Cruise terminal. Would stay here again. We camped at Jetty Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Pecan Park RV Resort, Jacksonville, Florida

Date of Stay: January, 2008 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

We stopped here with no reservations. It was a great park for us at the end of 4 days of rain. We enjoyed the level paved sites. There was a good amount of noise from the highway and airport. Nothing that would deter us from staying here again. We camped at Pecan Park RV Resort in a Motorhome.

James Island County Park, Charleston, South Carolina

Date of Stay: January, 2008 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for 2 nights. This is a very nice park with friendly staff. Sites are very large and not too close to your neighbors. Full hookups all worked great. Walking trails were beautiful. We missed the shuttle to Charleston, but getting a cab was easy ($20). Would stay here again. We camped at James Island County Park in a Motorhome.

Lakewood Camping Resort, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina

Date of Stay: January, 2008 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here with no reservations and got an oceanfront site. There weren't many people here in January, but that worked out for us. I can see this place being crazy in the summer months at full capacity. Site was level, electric and water worked well. Beautiful beach. Would stay here again. We camped at Lakewood Camping Resort in a Motorhome.
