We hated this CG. The only staff member we saw wasn't very friendly. He did take us to our site. There were plenty of front pull through sites, but I guess they keep them for any incoming bigger campers. We were placed next to a seasonal trailer. Our neighbor obviously had a lot of cats and the litter was all over our site. It wasn't the greatest smell! We had to share our hookups. However, we could not share the waterline if we wanted to. They had it all boxed in and locked.Since we had already winterized our plumbing we used their bathrooms. The bathrooms were quite a walk from our site and hard to find. My daughter and went to take a shower and the upper shower heads didn't work, so we resorted to Italian baths. The only outlet to blow dry our hair was high up next to the ceiling. The day we left we noticed that the bathroom floors were flooded. We let the worker know right away. He didn't seem to care. We also had a nasty view. Our view was obviously the maintenance area and things were everywhere. The kids playground was old and a joke. We did take a nice long walk and noticed some sites were kept very clean. However, they were nowhere near where we were. We will never come here again. We rated this our worst CG ever!

First time camping in Connecticut. The people here are very snobby. We actually had rented a camper with deck for a week. We had come up here for my brother's wedding at Water's Edge Resort on 7/7/07. My aunt and Uncle rented a site for a night too. There is a nice State Beach Park 3 miles from the campground. The lake which is really a pond (very small) could have been cleaned or raked at the bottom. The playground was very updated and nice. We enjoyed riding our bikes throughout the campground. The sites are very reasonably spaced. There are a lot of seasonal campers here. We did have a lot of trouble with the doors not opening inside the trailer. Maintenance came and took care of it by damaging the door frame. He left it that way and did not come back and fix it while we were there. After two weeks they mail you your deposit back. We won't come here again. Not because we didn't like the sites, but because the people are not friendly.

This is one of my favorite State Park Campgrounds. Site #62 is the best if your looking to a great tent site. It has both shade and sun. My kids loved riding their bikes in front of our site with us being able to watch. It was very quiet this time of year there. The place was very pretty and had more of a fall feel in spring. The bathroom was just a skip from our site. The workers here were very nice. Can't wait to camp here again!!!
