This is a nice get away campground. I live about 40 miles from here and camp here often. Someone said they reserved a 50 amp site? There are no 50 amp sites there. This is an older campground kept up pretty well by the rangers and hosts. Fishing is mostly catfish and there are a few nice golf courses nearby. I have found that most of South Carolina State Parks are about the same. All built around the same time and not much updating.

This is a very nice park. I had heard nice things about this place and how they go all out for Halloween with hay rides and haunted house. It was great every weekend in October Kids get to trick or treat and most sites are decorated. Staff was very friendly and we had a great time. If you want to go in Oct. you better make reservations early because they book up quickly. I liked it so much I am going back for Thanksgiving. The campground is very kid friendly, but adults like it too.

This was our first full week camping; we have stayed at Myrtle Beach many times but not camping. This campground is very family friendly, even though I don't have small children our friends did and they had a great time with the activity there. They give you a newsletter of all activities for the week which was very good. There were lots of golf carts riding around and if I wasn't in an Ocean front site I would have gotten one too. We didn't have any trouble with the carts but there were a lot of kids driving them that where under age by the CG rules. Bathrooms very clean but were old. We had a great time and would go back.

The park is very clean and the bathhouses were very clean. The CG was not crowded in Dec. so it was very quite. We were in the back of the CG but still could hear some traffic noise at night. It's close to Charleston with easy access to the city. I would recommend this CG and I will go back. They have WiFi for a charge but I picked up a signal that I got for free.
