Canyonlands RV Resort & Campground, Moab, Utah

Date of Stay: September, 2009 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

Another lesson learned; don't assume anything. We checked in for one night and instead of a full-hookup, went with W/E only. The sites were all-dirt and very tight versus concrete pads for the W/E/S sites. No mention of this when checking-in. Rate was pretty expensive even with Good Sam discount, but, it is a tourist stop. W-Fi and cable worked fine. We camped at Canyonlands RV Resort & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Colter Bay Village RV Park -- Full Hookups (Concessionaire Operated) , Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming

Date of Stay: September, 2009 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Great campground as sites are wide and long (pull-throughs). Wi-Fi located near cabin office near visitor center. In making telephone reservations, it was not mentioned they also had nice back-ins sites for $8 bucks less($24 vs $32 with Senior Pass). My fault for not asking. We camped at Colter Bay Village RV Park -- Full Hookups (Concessionaire Operated) in a Travel Trailer.

Utah Lake State Park, Provo, Utah

Date of Stay: September, 2009 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Nice state park with wide spacing between sites that are paved and flat. Covered picnic table was a plus. Antenna pulled-in local channels. Park is close to all the stores. It was very quiet when we were here and only about 30% occupied. Great spot to walk or ride a bike. We spent an extra night just to relax. Spent 3 nights. We camped at Utah Lake State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Bear Run Campground, Portersville, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: August, 2009 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Sites here are small and slanted: definitely need levelers. We stayed mid-week and CG was about 1/4 full so we had enough spacing between others. The Wi-Fi at our site worked great. The office staff was very friendly and their store was nice. The restrooms/showers were clean. Saw several families with tents. Summation: this is a nice place if not jammed with people: this can be true about alot of campgrounds. We camped at Bear Run Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Harpers Ferry / Civil War Battlefields KOA, Harpers Ferry, West Virginia

Date of Stay: June, 2009 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Nice park close to the National Park. You pay an additional $4.00/Day resort fee to cover park amenities, including WiFi. Manager and staff are very friendly and helpful. Stayed on a 3 day internet special at a W/E site only - then had to pay $5.00 to dump when we left. The feeling of being nickeled and dimed was present. Great park for family/kids and not sure where else to stay if just visiting the NP. We camped at Harpers Ferry / Civil War Battlefields KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Ledgeview RV Park, Lake George, New York

Date of Stay: August, 2008 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice park. Spending 4 nights. Close to everything. Large sites, most on dirt. Restooms very clean. No pets allowed. Wi-Fi can be spotty especially at lower levels of park. Staying in a TT and would stay again. Docksider restaurant(on Glen Lake) a few minutes away, is a nice place to relax. We camped at Ledgeview RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Rustic Sands RV Resort Campground, Mexico Beach, Florida

Date of Stay: April, 2008 - $17.00
Overall Rating:

This is a P-A campground and that helps. We stayed when campground was 3/4's empty. This made it more desirable as the site's are small in width, as was the shower space in the restrooms. The beach in Mexico Beach is beautiful. Management very friendly. Would stay here again. We camped at Rustic Sands RV Resort Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Deerwood Inn Madison Campground, Madison, Florida

Date of Stay: April, 2008 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Go past this CG, and stay at Jellystone RV Park for about $10 more. Very run down; bathroom's are a mess, especially the men's. Owner/operator nice enough when checking in, but the campground needs badly renovating. Interesting fact was they had a sign in the window saying they were inspected by Woodall's in 2008. Wonder what they found?? We camped at Deerwood Inn Madison Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Pirateland Family Campground, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina

Date of Stay: December, 2007 - $17.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here over New Year's and had a spot right near the dune line. This was off-season and we enjoyed the uncrowded campground. The beach is perfect for walking. The restrooms were okay, but, would imagine they would be hard to keep clean during the peak summner season. Staff was friendly. Would stay here again, but, only during off-season. We camped at Pirateland Family Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Sycamore Lodge, Jackson Springs, North Carolina

Date of Stay: November, 2007 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice campground under the pines. This is a Travel Resorts of America campground and they have made many improvement from what we could see. Also, this is a great location in NC if you like golf. Staff was very nice and the restrooms were modern and clean. Only downside was not having internet access at your site. Will stay here again. We camped at Sycamore Lodge in a Travel Trailer.

Lake LaDonna Family Campground, Oregon, Illinois

Date of Stay: October, 2007 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here due to it's proximity to Dixon, IL. Spent one night only. The trains kept us from getting any sleep, and could not wait for the break of dawn to leave. Bathrooms were also dirty and rundown. We stayed here after reading Woodall's description and rating. No mention whatsoever about trains running day and night. We camped at Lake LaDonna Family Campground in a Travel Trailer.
