Anderson / Muncie KOA, Anderson, Indiana

Date of Stay: May, 2008 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

This is a little tough to rate, because there were some nice features about the park. It felt like this campground was more meant for tent and pop-up camping. The employees were very nice, and they were helpful. There was easy access to the White River fishing, and there was a small beach which some may enjoy. My issues were: 1. Sites were very narrow. Neighbor lit up a smoky grill 4 feet from my motorhome. This was without slide-out. 2. The site was very un-lever both front to back and side to side. 3. And most importantly, the water has the most awful smell. Just a little bit stunk up the whole motorhome for the rest of the day. I have never encounter such horrid water, even worse then Florida swamp water. Strong sulfur\onion smell. I can never go back to this place for the water alone. We camped at Anderson / Muncie KOA in a Motorhome.

Orlando / Kissimmee KOA, Kissimmee, Florida

Date of Stay: December, 2007 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Nice poor with very long sites. Nice patio and chimney on the site. Park itself is a little cramped, but about what I expected for Disney area. Cable was a bit out of date, but at least there was cable. Wireless was not free as stated on KOA website, but they were upfront about this at check in. No problems. I would return. We camped at Orlando / Kissimmee KOA in a Motorhome.

Topsail Hill State Preserve, Santa Rosa Beach, Florida

Date of Stay: December, 2007 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Great place. Park was well maintained. The walk to the beach took about 15 minutes, but was pleasant, at least in December. Park staff were great. They did mention that they were going to use this park as a pilot for WIFI. We had a back in Site #57. This was convenient, but slightly difficult to back into as the site line was blocked a bit. There was a massive thunderstorm one night, but it just added to the atmosphere. Water was drained by early the next morning. There is not a lot of activity other than the beauty of the park. I look forwarding to returning, as well as trying other State Parks in the area. We camped at Topsail Hill State Preserve in a Motorhome.

Terre Haute KOA, Terre Haute, Indiana

Date of Stay: November, 2007 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

People here were friendly and helpful. We camped in November, but it looks like this would be a great summer stop with lots of trees. I did get a little confused because some folks drive the wrong way on a one-way there. There are plenty of restaurants and shopping one exit down. I will stop here again. We camped at Terre Haute KOA in a Motorhome.

Fireside Resort at Kruse Park, Auburn, Indiana

Date of Stay: November, 2007 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

This was a pretty nice KOA. There have been some complaints posted by some about the owner, an older lady. This lady has to run the campground by herself, and she works 6 or 7 days a week all year round. The campground is open all year. There is a nice little store, laundry room, and wonderful showers. I had no issues. I would suggest cable tv. I will return. We camped at Fireside Resort at Kruse Park in a Motorhome.

Indianapolis KOA, Greenfield, Indiana

Date of Stay: October, 2007 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Pretty nice stopover. There is not a lot of quality parks in the Indy area, IMHO. This campground is on the East side of Indy, but I used it for a base to visit relatives on both the south and the east side, as there isn't much else. There was another campground at the same exit, but the I could not find that campground by following the signs. The KOA was right next to the exit. Recommended for visiting Indy for a few days. I will visit again. We camped at Indianapolis KOA in a Motorhome.

Wapakoneta KOA, Wapakoneta, Ohio

Date of Stay: October, 2007 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Very well kept campground. Very nice and helpful staff. Nice Cable TV. Not a lot to do around the area, but this is a great overnight or recuperation spot. They have great wireless, too. This is one of those campgrounds that I change my route just to stop at. I definitely will return. We camped at Wapakoneta KOA in a Motorhome.

Detroit Greenfield RV Park, Ypsilanti, Michigan

Date of Stay: October, 2007 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

Nice enough place. This was the first place I camped in my motorhome. Everyone was out bike-riding and such. The staff was helpful. There was a decent lake that I did not realize was attached to the campground. It really is not seen from the roadway. There are restaurants, supermarkets, and a Walmart within a few miles of the campground. I would camp again. We camped at Detroit Greenfield RV Park in a Motorhome.
