Fort De Soto Campground, Tierra Verde, Florida

Date of Stay: February, 2008 - $60.00
Overall Rating:

Great Park, after leaving the last park in Tampa where way too many dogs were we appreciated the no pet area we were in. They do have 1/2 the park for pet owners to stay in which was nice for us. We camped right on the beach in a very tropical looking site. Spaces are large but access to each site is very tight for larger units requiring several people to watch as you back in your site. Will stay here again. We camped at Fort De Soto Campground in a Motorhome.

Bay Bayou RV Resort, Tampa, Florida

Date of Stay: February, 2008 - $52.00
Overall Rating:

Nice Park for Tampa area. Paved roads in most of the park except new area.Nicely landscaped with older trees. The laundry machines are older and dirty. Restrooms are extremely clean.Lots of local workers stay the season here. Newest manager lets in way too many units with 2 to 6 dogs, also too many units with 1 or 2 big type dogs, the 6 ft lease law is a joke here. Not unusual to be sitting on your patio and folks walk by and let their dogs do their business on your grass or under your rig. Would stay here again but hope the work on their issues. We stayed here a week in Feb. We camped at Bay Bayou RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Gulf Waters RV Resort, Fort Myers Beach, Florida

Date of Stay: January, 2008 - $90.00
Overall Rating:

Nice newer RV Resort type park. Landscaped nicely, sites are mostly private owned and rented out for nightly or monthly. There are a few negatives despite the beauty of the place. First is the traffic that you have to fight to get to Ft. Myers Beach area, it takes from 15 minutes to one hour to go a half mile pending traffic issues over the bridge there. Then when you arrive at the beach there is very little parking spaces. While in the campground the sewer plant smell from the city plant across the street burns your eyes at times if the wind is blowing your direction. We stayed here in a motorhome and would probably stay elsewhere due to sewer smell. We camped at Gulf Waters RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Crystal Isles Resort, Crystal River, Florida

Date of Stay: December, 2007 - $46.00

Older park, not kept up. They let yearly folks totally junk up their sites. Noisy in spots . Its OK when passing through but not a Resort at all. Would choose elsewhere next trip. We camped at Crystal Isles Resort in a Motorhome.

Fiesta Key RV Resort, Long Key, Florida

Date of Stay: December, 2007 - $85.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here a few days while we visited Key West. This campground is 70 miles from Key West but daily commute was enjoyable and took about 1 and 1/2 hours in traffic. Campground has a marina, and 2 sides - one more family and lower cost; we stayed in the pull through side on the Gulf. Would stay here again in our motorhome. Plenty of room for Big Rigs as pull throughs were 80 ft or more. We camped at Fiesta Key RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Pelican Lake Motorcoach Resort, Naples, Florida

Date of Stay: November, 2007 - $99.00
Overall Rating:

This RV Resort is a true 10. We stayed here 2 nights and it felt like a resort. Most all units are upper end and sites are kept sparkling clean. Sites are privately owned and easily rented before January. After January its pretty much booked by the owners. Will stay here again when ever in the area. We camped at Pelican Lake Motorcoach Resort in a Motorhome.
