I agree with the positive reviews posted by others. It's a parking lot with well spaced sites with full hookups and a great, quiet spot for an overnight stay. The sites are concrete and level, for the most part, although some are slightly off and you might have a problem getting a total dump. I moved from my site to a pull through site that worked better for me to dump. I tried calling and e-mailing to see if there was in issue with arriving late at night, but got no response from e-mailing and couldn't leave a message because the voice mail box was full for several days. Took a chance and arrived at 1:30 AM on New Year's day. No problem. Many spaces to choose from and it was quiet. WiFi is available, but the password that was posted did not work. All in all, we'd stay again when in the area.

Terrific campground. Good separation between nice pretty level sites. Host was very friendly and helpful. Not crowded at all at the end of October. Several sites had campers who brought in boats to go fishing. Host indicated that the campground had been redone about a year ago. Had the best two lane dump station I've ever seen. Slope was perfect for evacuating the holding tanks. Was very clean. Obviously the people who camp here really care about the grounds and facilities. Rangers were friendly and efficient. Has a large off-leash pet exercise area and pick-up bags are provided. We will come back again, but earlier in the year.

Very friendly manager/owner. Easy on/off I-5. Good for overnight. Lots of traffic noise. I'd stay again, if I couldn't drive any further.

We keep going back here, because it's such a great place to camp. Dog friendly and just over the dunes from the beach. Rate reflects an off-season senior discount.

Another nice overnight stay here. We use this resort when traveling 99 between northern and southern California. Nice office staff, and easy check-in. Sites are fairly tight, but they are level and the hookups are in the right place. Everything worked as expected. We didn't use the restaurant or bar this time, but they were good the last couple of times we were there. We'd stay again.

We were here to attend the El Dorado Winery Association Passport Weekend. Our second time here, and will return again. The park was pretty full this time, with lots of people out and about in the campground. Lots of kids on bikes and obviously having a good time. Unlike many reviewers, we enjoy seeing and hearing kids having fun outside, instead of glued to televisions watching cartoons or playing video games. Check-in was quick and easy, and the office staff is terrific. Our site was level, so all I had to do was set the brake and hook up. Overall, a very nice park.

This was our 3rd time at this NPS campground. There were other people there that we had met last year, too, so we aren't the only ones who come back here. It's like coming home. We love it!!! Once again we stayed in a loop with full hookups and as they had in the past, everything worked as expected. We were in site #6 this time and leveling wasn't difficult, although it took most of my Lynx leveling blocks. Basically just had to raise the rear. Wi-Fi was available at the campground host's site. AT&T and Verizon (air card) worked well here. There is a paved bike path that goes about 2.5 miles each direction out of the campground. Westbound, the path ends at another campground and eastbound it ends at the marina and store. Nice easy level walk or ride. The campground hosts are terrific. Delivered firewood to my site and at $5.00 per bundle, it was a real bargain! We'll come back next year if the stars are lined up correctly!

We spent two nights here and really enjoyed this campground. The campground wasn't very crowded, although there were lots of reserved sites for campers who were being displaced by the fires in the area. There are four loops, A, B, C, and D, which is for tents only. We chose site B46, which was a pull-through, because it was fairly easy to level. Many of the sites would require significant leveling. The biggest drawback was the dust...it's basically dirt camping except for the pad. This is the kind of dirt/dust that sticks to everything, so the dogs required a lot of clean-up before being allowed back into the RV. Neither AT&T nor Verizon worked in our site, but they were usable near the store. Nice walk around the lake. Nice campground host. I'd like to come back in the spring when there might be a bit of grass in the campsites.

Stopped here for an overnight without a reservation. The office was closed, but the manager drove up in a golf cart and offered to open the office, look up my KOA Membership number and proceed to check me in. After selecting a campsite, (#33) with full hookups, she led us to the site and assisted with backing in. Great service. As mentioned before the sites are gravel, but there is no dust...except in the K9 Corral. It's dirt...no grass, so the dogs got dirty really fast. Everything worked as expected, and we were very pleased with this campground. The pool was closed for the season, but wouldn't have used it anyway. I agree with previous reviewers that the staff is very, very friendly and accommodating. I'll stay again if in the area.

Our second time at this park because of proximity to family. If that weren't the case, we probably wouldn't come here. If San Clemente had any space, we would have gone there instead of here. There's noise from Camp Pendleton and I-5, even though it's a mile away. There's no view of the ocean, or anything else for that matter. Verizon aircard connectivity was sketchy at best. On the positive side, the sites are well spaced and have considerably vegetation between them, so privacy isn't a problem. The rangers and camp hosts were friendly and helpful.

Great park for families with kids and campers with dogs. A little noisy during the day, but hey...there are hundreds of kids there. Wasn't really a bother. Pretty quiet at night, since the kids have expended all their energy and need to sleep. The Kamp K9 is an off leash area for dogs to run and play. Clean-up bags are provided, so there is NO excuse for not picking up after your dog. It must be working because I walked the campground a lot with our dogs and never saw anything that hadn't been picked up. Had site 189 which was partial hookups. Water pressure was OK. Wi-Fi in my site was very strong. Was there about 4 years ago and it wasn't, so that's an improvement.

Our 3rd time at this park because we love it! Had site number 40 again and it was fairly level. Lots of room between you and your camping neighbors. I've reviewed this one before, and probably enough to say that I won't repeat. Just see my earlier reviews.

Nice state park. Plenty of space between sites and there were shade trees throughout. Had site 155 which was a back-in but double wide, so parked extra vehicle next to motorhome. Nothing much more to say except it was quiet except for a bit of highway noise from I-5.

A great site for an overnight! Sites are close and there are some young trees, but they wouldn't provide shade. No table or fire ring, but I understand fires are permitted if you bring your own "fire pit". Check in was easy and the desk people were great. The work campers were very helpful: I had to have some assistance hooking up sewer hose. Also unhooking the next morning. On-site restaurant and bar came in handy after a long days drive in rainy weather. I'll stay again if I'm in the area.

Terrific campground! Second time there and will return. Had full hookups in site #10. All paved roads and sites. Camp host was great. Brought firewood to our site when we needed it. (Reasonably priced, too.) Rate reflects Senior Pass. Wi-Fi was available at host's site.
