Memphis KOA , Marion, Arkansas

Date of Stay: March, 2008 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

The long and wide shaded pads with properly placed utilities, unfortunately, could not offset the traffic noise from the interstate. The campground is located very close to a busy railway. Between 8pm and 10 am we counted at least 12 trains with horns blasting. We found it to be one of the noisiest parks that we have stayed in. Too bad, otherwise it is a nice park with friendly staff. We camped at Memphis KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Elk City / Clinton KOA, Canute, Oklahoma

Date of Stay: March, 2008 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Easy access off and on to I40. Clean park with wide spaces. There was a lot of Interstate noise, but to be expected due to the parks location. Long term campers were placed in the rear of the park away from the road noise. Overnighters were placed up front. We would return again for an overnighter. We camped at Elk City / Clinton KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Taos Valley RV Park & Campground, Taos, New Mexico

Date of Stay: March, 2008 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

A park with incredible mountain views, close to town and close to all of the major attractions of the area. Park employees were very friendly and helpful. Park roads and pads are gravel / mud. During the time that we were here mud was a major problem. The utility hookups were set far back requiring multiple extensions for tank dumps. Restrooms and showers were spotless. Laundry facilities had "micro washers" that reqired the use of three machines for one normal sized load. We camped at Taos Valley RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Overnite RV Park, Amarillo, Texas

Date of Stay: March, 2008 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

This is a nice park right off of I40. The only drawback to this park is road and airport noise. Otherwise it was a very pleasant stay. Large spacious sites, some with private dog runs available, as well as a fenced in off-leash area. Park owners were super friendly and helpful. As the park name implies, it is a great overnight stay. We camped at Overnite RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Mystery Mountain Resort, Rapid City, South Dakota

Date of Stay: February, 2008 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

This is an all-terrain RV park. Bring your 4x4 vehicles! A couple of the roads in the park were so steep that I had to put my truck in 4WD to keep from sliding down the hill. To say that the spaces were "tight" is a gross understatement. The sites are heavily shaded and the trees make it a real challenge to get into the sites. We would not stay here again. We camped at Mystery Mountain Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Kansas City East / Oak Grove KOA, Oak Grove, Missouri

Date of Stay: February, 2008 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

We arrived after hours and found a note on the door directing us to our assigned spot. When we pulled in to the site we found that the power had been severed to the site and was under repair. So we chose another spot. Sites were level and clean. There was no cable available and a poor Wi-Fi signal. We stayed here as an overnight stop. The park serves well for this purpose, but would not be satisfactory for anything longer. We camped at Kansas City East / Oak Grove KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Nashville KOA, Nashville, Tennessee

Date of Stay: February, 2008 - $62.00

A very nice park. Navigation thru park was easy, sites were spacious and level. The big drawback was the price. Even for the close proximity to major attractions the price was a bit steep. We camped at Nashville KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Post Oak Place RV Park, Denton, Texas

Date of Stay: February, 2008 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

This is a poorly lit, poorly maintained, cramped campground. Only back-in spaces available. We only had inches to spare when backing in. There were several long term renters with junked cars and trash scattered everywhere. There was no bathouse or restrooms that we could find, and given that there were no park maps posted, it is unlikely that anyone else could find them either. We will not retun here. We camped at Post Oak Place RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

One of the nicer KOA parks we have visited. Friendly staff, escort and parking assistance to site. Plenty of room between sites. Park had a nice fenced area for off leash pet exercise. Park was at full capacity, but very quiet. Would stay here again. We camped at Baton Rouge KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

This is an exceptional park with incredible views of the surrounding mountains. Spaces are wide enough to accommodate multiple slides and awnings. There is a large field to exercise your pets. Showers and restrooms are spotless, staff is always friendly and helpful. We have stayed here multiple times and always have had a great experience. We camped at Black Bear Cove in a Fifth Wheel.
