Bangor / Holden KOA (formerly Red Barn Campground), Holden, Maine

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

We had a great stay even if it were only one night. Would love to come back. Good WiFi. Staff was very helpful. Sites were a little close but nothing compared to many campgrounds. Baths were clean. We camped at Bangor / Holden KOA (formerly Red Barn Campground) in a Motorhome.

Deerpark/ New York City NW KOA, Godeffroy, New York

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $57.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here one night. The campground is beautiful sitting in a valley along side a beautiful stream. Sites were nice. The bathrooms were clean but had no path to them to keep feet out of freshly mowed grass. Inside the showers were not very good. The one my wife went to shower in had a broken pipe that sprayed into the roof and then sprayed on her from the ceiling. Most of the bathrooms were locked the entire time we were there. My shower varied from hot to cold and no one else was in the shower house. We camped at Deerpark/ New York City NW KOA in a Motorhome.

Ponderosa Pines Family Campground, Hopewell Cape, New Brunswick

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

The closeness of the sites is an issue. We had to move our vehicle while someone else pull their RV into their site. We pulled into our site and the RV next to us had to back in. We both used the same utility post. WiFi was terrible. The bathhouse was very nice and clean. My rating for this campground is based on the closeness of the sites. We camped at Ponderosa Pines Family Campground in a Motorhome.

Land of Evangeline Family Camping Resort, Grand Pre, Nova Scotia

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

Campsites are close but very acceptable. The grounds are well kept. I noticed that there were about 60% of the occupants were seasonal. The only excess noise we experienced were motorcycles. I really did not appreciate pay showers after paying for our campground. We can tell you that from our site we were able to get Dish satellite tv. We camped at Land of Evangeline Family Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

Bass Harbor Campground, Bass Harbor, Maine

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Nice campground close to Bass Harbor light house. Sites are close. Some sites don't make a lot of sense as to their layout. Showers are fine (free). On Saturday and Wednesday's there is a lobster special and is really a good price and is tasty. Wifi was good. We camped at Bass Harbor Campground in a Motorhome.

Some great restaurants are close. Thurston's Lobster Pound and Upper Deck were two. Acadia Park is wonderful place to enjoy. If you are in to tourist locations, then Bar Harbor would be the way to go.

Overall Rating:

Roads were STEEP but the host led us to the site. Riding the ferry (free) over to the campground was very fun. Lots of seasonal campers. Oh, did I mention the steepness of the roads. Our site was very nice on top of a hill. We camped at Harding's Point Campground in a Motorhome.

Great place to stay. The owner was very helpful for places to see and things to do. The staff was great also. Very clean and quiet. The owner appears to be on top everything that happens. Very impressed how he started early and finished late. We camped at Cedar Haven Campground in a Motorhome.

Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park PEI (formerly Borden-Carleton KOA), Borden-Carleton, Prince Edward Island

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

The park manager/owner were very helpful. Great park for children (pool, bounce pad, bike rentals). For exercise oriented people there is the Bicentennial Trail out the back and is great for biking, running or walking. There is plenty of distance without concern for traffic. We camped at Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park PEI (formerly Borden-Carleton KOA) in a Motorhome.

Really a nice clean campground with very helpful managers. The campground store has plenty of helpful item. The island bridge is very close and a nice little shopping (touristy) with a great Welcome center.

Brookside Campground, Catskill, New York

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

When we arrived a 4:30 pm the office was closed. We had to call and get someone to come in and register us. We did have prior reservations and told them when we would arrive. There were lots of sites available. It appeared that there were mostly permanent sites that were occupied. On first site the campground is nice looking. The advertised WiFi was non existent. Sewer was available but sewer was full looking. When we hooked to it, there was a bad sewer smell. When I dumped the smell was worse. As I walked around the vehicle I spotted sewer seeping from some nearby bushes. On closer observation, I found a sewer hookup that was overflowing and out into the campground. No WiFi, pay showers, leaking sewer, unsafe electrical hookup, roads hard to find, campsite hard to find. I would never stay here again. We camped at Brookside Campground in a Motorhome.

Battlefield Campground & RV Park (formerly Lookout Mt/Chatt South KOA), Ringgold, Georgia

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

No sign on the road to point to the location behind a wine dealer. All literature stated cable. No cable. The pool was very nice. Either the owner or manager yelled into the pool area to find out whose car was parked in front of the building. I told him that it was me. He told me that it was a no parking zone and was marked as such. It was marked but he had to remove his pickup from over the marking to show it. His attitude was less than appreciative of a customer. In fact, I would call it rude. Sites were not clean. Last fall's leaves were still all over the campsites. We needed a late checkout and told them that we were willing to pay for it so they charged us for a full night. That was our mistake. We were an hour and a half late leaving.

These folks have within the last few(6) months bought this location. They need some time. But with the attitude of "man"(owner/manager) they want be here long. This park is open year round and needs some TLC. At the present I don't intend on coming back even though it is convenient to the interstate. We camped at Battlefield Campground & RV Park (formerly Lookout Mt/Chatt South KOA) in a Motorhome.

Topsail Hill State Preserve, Santa Rosa Beach, Florida

Date of Stay: September, 2014 - $47.00
Overall Rating:

Our site was really nice. Wi-Fi is adequate but does not cover the entire park. When we hooked to the cable, we got plenty of channels but I never did figure out how to go directly from channel to channel just up or down. This state park is laid out beautifully. The bath houses differ because one was of the original campground and the other had been put in since being a state park. This a bike friendly park. With a paved trail to the ocean(tram hourly) it makes for easy access. Across from the park is a bike trail that runs along highway 30A for about 20 miles. We camped at Topsail Hill State Preserve in a Motorhome.

Frank Jackson State Park, Opp, Alabama

Date of Stay: September, 2014 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

The park is a beautiful park and well maintained. The Wi-Fi was excellent and cable was more than adequate. At the entry station the ranger was most helpful. We were very impressed with a state park having all of benefits that this park has. The only bad thing was, that we were invaded by tiny black ants. We camped at Frank Jackson State Park in a Motorhome.

Parnell Creek RV Park, Woodville, Alabama

Overall Rating:

Enjoyed this park. Dawn and Kevin went out of their way to make everyone feel at home. They fixed a pancake breakfast on Sunday and on Sunday evening they had a hot dog supper. They have horseshoes and miniature golf. Spaces were a little close but they have plans to enlarge some of the sites and add some more 50 amp sites. We camped at Parnell Creek RV Park in a Motorhome.

Holiday Travel Park of Chattanooga, Rossville, Georgia

Date of Stay: April, 2009 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Great weekend. The park was clean and very friendly. Two groups were meeting there and with the size, and location of the groups, things went very well. Location is easy to get to and the things that you can do around Chattanooga, you are only limited by time. I highly recommed this CG. The site are a little close but not enough to cause any problem. We camped at Holiday Travel Park of Chattanooga in a Motorhome.
