Anchorage Ship Creek RV Park, Anchorage, Alaska

Date of Stay: August, 2008 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

If you are deaf, this might be a nice place to stay, but this is the noisiest RV Park we have ever stayed at. The park is right along the railroad track, with two major railroad crossings at both ends. So, you hear the railroad whistle all day and night. It is right under the flight path for a major tour center's airport. So, there are low flying airplanes all day long and well into the evening. It is across the street from a power plant, which has a alarm which whistle goes off and on all day and night. The manufacturing plant across the railroad plays reveille at 5 and 7 am and then taps at 5 and 7 pm. The staff are helpful, but didn't warn us of the noise issues. It was not worth ½ the price they charged. We camped at Anchorage Ship Creek RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Denali RV Park & Motel (Privately Owned), Denali National Park, Alaska

Date of Stay: August, 2008 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

It rained while we were here, and the site had deep puddles all over. A couple of loads of gravel would have made the park much nicer to stay at. The buildings were run down and poorly maintained. We camped at Denali RV Park & Motel (Privately Owned) in a Fifth Wheel.

Very clean and nice site. They would get a higher score if they didn't charge $5 a night for WiFi. I didn't use the WiFi. We camped at Haines Hitch-Up RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Kalum Motel & RV Park, Terrace, British Columbia

Date of Stay: July, 2008 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

This is a motel with 4 RV sites in the woods around the motel; only Water and Electricity. Not bad for a quick night stay, but I wouldn’t plan to stay long. Very helpful staff. We camped at Kalum Motel & RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This is very nice RV Park near the border of US and Canada; a bit of a drive to Vancouver if you are planning to hit the sites there. Kids enjoyed the swimming pool. We camped at Pacific Border RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Kids loved the fishing. But we hated the mosquitoes. Very cramped sites, Wi-Fi came and went all the time. The staff was very helpful. 30amp power breakers would drop off if we used A/C. We camped at Rainbow RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Portland Fairview RV Park, Fairview, Oregon

Date of Stay: June, 2008 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed for a week in this RV Camp. This RV site is almost perfect. They have a great staff and wonderful facilities. The Wi-Fi is reliable and the bandwidth for it is very good. The only complaint is about the noise. This RV camp is right in the flight path for the Portland Airport. So, any time an Airplane comes in low, you hear it. The RV camp is also right between the freeway and the railroad line. They have blocked most all freeway noise, but the railroad is frequently used and the train noise is not blocked. We camped at Portland Fairview RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Neat Retreat RV Park, Fruitland, Idaho

Date of Stay: June, 2008 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

We had a good week long stay at the Neat Retreat RV Campground. They have a wonderful park with good people keeping it clean and nice. The trees are mature and provide wonderful shade. The only complaint was that the bandwidth for the W-iFi was only a little better than modem speeds (download ~100kps, upload ~40kps). We camped at Neat Retreat RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
